  1. The YF-29 is the VF-25 with integrated Tornado parts. That doesn't necessarily conflict with the notion that it's also a hodgepodge of VF-25 parts. I like the idea that the YF-29 and YF-30 would just lose any fold quartz specific attributes when making the jump to VF status. Personally though, while I like the toys, I think the YF-29 is a little too super valk. A VF-30 as cannon fodder seems perfect to me, and I'd hope that another change in going to VF is that the stabilizers would fold upward. Maybe what we'll see is a convergence of several fleets that all have different mainstay fighters. Or maybe there will be one fleet that has squadrons of various fighters and among them each one has cannon fodder members and heroes. I'm burnt out on VF-25 and YF-29s but I have to imagine Bandai has plans for their YF-30 and VF-19Advance molds beyond the one-offs we have so far. You know what I'd like to see (besides a VF-21Advance), a VF-19Advance Guld custom as a sort of alternate universe what-if.
  2. CharaWorks also did a small scale completed model line though both those and the Doyusha are likely smaller scale than what Vifam has envisioned.
  3. Not really, he was suggesting Arcadia make non-transforming completed models like Alter did.
  4. I don't think Arcadia wants to be competition to Bandai, I think Arcadia wants to be the high end allowing Bandai to occupy the mainstream. I think Arcadia ought to stick to the Macross periphery that Bandai abandons (like Macross Zero) and make the odd valks no one else would ever make in limited numbers for diehard collectors. I think this should be passion projects for Arcadia, not their major revenue stream. They need to be identifying a license other than Macross that they can fill the mainstream role on. Alternatively, they should move to the states and team up with HG to make Robotech merchandise and give BW the finger from across the pond (j/k).
  5. Arcadia seems to have a pretty good relationship with Hasegawa so that might not be a show-stopper.
  6. Well it sounds like they only have the Macross Zero license now... Though hardly certain but I'll shape my expectations around that.
  7. Regardless of my thoughts on the content, thank you so much for translating this -
  8. Sorry to hear you had a second pop-off on that hip. Right on for being able to get back in and address that. If my 0D ever pops back off I'll know who to PM!
  9. That was the same thing I suffered but your repair was more invasive but looks as good as new whereas mine has a bit of a gap that widens and closes as I use the GERWALK joint.
  10. That sounds like licensing reasons, not legal reasons. Toynami has the license for toys so maybe that was the complication but that seems like a stretch.
  11. I totally concur, not sure why SN or FASA (I think that was the acronym) would have any legal grounds to stop HG from making game pieces... just trying to interpret what was being said.
  12. I think the implication was there might be a lawsuit by the battletech folks.
  13. I doubt it will get serious unless they've broken the terms of service and they seem pretty adamant they haven't.
  14. Is MP-11T a legit TakaraTomy release or another CCC release? I'm wondering which store I'll have to order through.
  15. All welcome our new Bandai overlords.
  16. That's a terrible background to use for those photos...
  17. For sure the Destroids were a terrible business decision. It's a bummer because they're great toys. The VF-4, on the other hand, seems like it came out when Yamato was already lost. When I think of Yamato flops I don't think of the VF-4... I think of the VF-17, the VF-22, and the GnuDou line. The VF-22 is probably unfairly included since they were able to take advantage of existing YF-21 tooling.
  18. While both movies are bad, I definitely felt the first movie was by far worse than the second. I can probably convince myself to watch the second again.
  19. PB got in WAY over their heads... like way WAY over their heads, and they've admitted it. This is like when a man tells his wife he's going to do a home improvement project. His wife is like "You color books for a living, you're not a contractor" and he's like "don't worry, I got this, and we'll save a ton of money." Then it takes him a year to do a project that a contractor would have busted out in a weekend and the end result isn't as good as what a contractor would have done.
  20. No guarantees but that's been my experience. Basically, don't do much of anything in GERWALK mode and when in battroid mode stick to left/right rocking at the ball joint, not forward/back (toe up or down).
  21. Are we sure that's Misa?
  22. I believe there was more than one run of the 19k and all runs after the first were fixed.
  23. Here was my group shot with everyone under the same light:
  24. Where's the pic of them putting the leg back on after it pops off at the ball joint?
