    I'm sick enough where I can't really be shooting videos right now, hopefully very soon, but in the meantime I've updated my original Hi-Metal and added an HMR review on anymoon.com. Please let me know if you think I've missed something. -

    I don't know, if Delta airs in Spring then you'd think we'll have some Delta DX releases. Not sure how that will impact HMR.

    Totally agree. Walkure's efforts start to finish were too much and completely subverted Macross with Sailor Moon. I would expect that this will get toned down as the series continues. If it increases I'm sure i'll find myself checking out.

    So my parents and my wife's parents both caught this over the weekend. When we asked them what they thought both separately responded that they were lukewarm on it and that it was way too similar to the first movies. My guess is that people who weren't really sullied by the prequels (which I'm sure my parents and my wife's parents can't remember in the least) but have strong impressions from the first films still have a real hard time getting past all the similarities. Younger people who have caught the prequels a few times don't get smacked in the face by the recycled plot points as hard because the film doesn't suffer the multitudes of sins the prequels do. I really just wish they hadn't done Starkiller Base. The one-ups-manship on the Death Stars, the similar settings, it was just too much of a rehash and it seemed similar things could have been accomplished differently. Still happy to feel like Star Wars is back though.

    I finally saw it, great movie but not without flaws. Definitely had the rehash vibe but overall easily superior to the prequels. There were a few very convenient moments but you could easily justify that being by design and just not spelled out. I also feel like some complaints are that there was too much that wasn't spelled out, like political, economic stuff, but i think you could easily argue that those were exactly the kind of weeds Lucas was too focused on. Poe was the standout right off the bat. I liked Kylo though making him such a Vader fan certainly leads to that derivative feel. One good way to reboot the universe is to blow it up i suppose. Also, I'm sure I'll watch them but movies about Boba and Han seem like wastes to me, like saying all Stars Wars films still need to focus on the Skywalkers, it's a big sandbox, at some point it's okay to grab a different toy.

    People have very interesting concepts of what Macross has always been about. Delta, good or bad, certainly doesn't FEEL like SDF Macross. I'm not saying it has to, I'm just saying the reaction of "You don't like Macross!" when people say they don't like Delta's Sailor Moon dancing mecha bit is a little over-the-top.

    + 1 Unfortunately the stream is all screwed up and it shows an episode of Sailor Moon for the first 12 minutes and then abruptly switches to Macross before ending the last 2 minutes with more Sailor Moon.
