I really hated Star Wars too. How frickin' stupid is a spaceship the size of a small moon that makes one big laser out of smaller lasers shooting into each other and then can be destroyed by something being tossed down a small vent. Totally stupid and ridiculous. OMG, and the most exciting light saber duel is a robot vs a super old man... real captivating stuff. I didn't really like the reboot Superman but I didn't hate it either. I thought it might be a nice set up for a second, less origin-based movie, but then I heard it was Batman vs. Superman and my mind immediately went there: http://youtu.be/-G4Y8JtT1j0 I will say, I'm officially curious though and really looking forward to renting this on DVD. I kind of hope it's atrocious and becomes a guilty pleasure film.

Are people not getting the Austin Powers reference? Damn I'm old.

I think it's showing how 2 separate figures come together to be one Gerwalk though I'd agree the image is odd.

I want a toilet made of solid gold.

The Toynami superposeable toys began their lives as Wonderfest models. I'm not sure if Toynami worked out a deal with the sculptor or bought a few models and then engineered them into toys. I would suspect that that VE-1 is by the same Wonderfest person/team that made the original models before Toynami turned them into toys.

It says 2016 on it but no prototypes? I'll remain skeptical until I see more.

I doubt it's true any more but Bose systems used to run at a lower impedance so if you did want to swap out a crappy Bose deck you also had to swap out every speaker. I've done it TWICE now and I hate it. Edit - that said, I've never been thrilled with the results of the stereos/speakers I replaced everything with either.

I get several comments about my arms too and while I think part of the problem is pale skin with dark hair under bright lights, the other part is people who are looking at the arms instead of the toy... what's wrong with you people? I really wish men would shave their arms for Youtube.- 17093 replies

I think we'll get the body as one part, legs and arms detached around it in the Styrofoam tray, and a separate plastic tray with barrels in something the size of a v1 vf25 gift set box.

Maybe some assembly will be required.

That says they're doing a 1/20 scale VF-1. Does it say that it's fighter mode only?
-
Clever placement of the gun so you can't tell he's flipping us all off.

So it scales with the Mini SDF-1 so I'm guessing it will be just like the Mini SDF-1, a model kit. Bullet dodged.

As a general rule, companies should never ask their customers what they want. Henry Ford has a famous quote about it, "They would have asked for faster horses" and Steve Jobs has lots of quotes about it... basically all saying it's dumb to do. The folks demanded the Monster... now none of them will buy it because what they really want is a repainted VF-1.

With the premium for "weathering" version that's gonna be one pricey YF-19! EDIT - Surprised they're doing this, the V1 1/60 YF-19 had a weathering version that sold like a real dog.

Won't this be like the size of a car? That's extreme!

Totally agree, that mod looks much better, not 100% stoked on what's happening with the wheels though.- 17093 replies

Good point, and since, from the empire perspective, the clones were their army, wouldn't they call it the Droid Wars or the Separatist Rebellion? You'd think the Separatists would call them the Clone Wars but maybe on a place like Tattooine that just sounds catchier.

I would say they're all still pretty terrible examples of real world , sometimes mundane, stuff against crazy fantastic super heroes that single handedly defeated armies of marauding robots and were blamed for the current leaders horrible musfiguring but to each their own. When was the last time someone told you they don't believe in the Cold War? Also, Luke is well aware of the Clone Wars so it's not like a generation removed they've made them disappear from everyone's memory.

I was just playing with my original HM Hikaru and it's held up fine. Seems I got a good one, or maybe just didn't handle it very much.

No reissue is scheduled but it's worth noting that Bandai considers the first release the "DYRL" version of a VF-1J with GBP. A "TV Version" of essentially the exact same toy was one of the HMR releases people could vote for in the fan choice. I suspect if a straight reissue doesn't happen then a "TV version" will.

Bandai, if you're going to give us a 1/1800 scale SDF-1, take some notes.
