That looks pretty good... but Toynami really needs to consider hiring another company for anything high end. Who trusts Toynami? They should partner with a Japanese company and focus on being the US distributor only.

For those of you that don't speak metric, the HMR Destroid is about 16" long (guns) and about 9" tall, and nearly 10" wide.

Man, I thought these things started at midnight my time... grabbed one at amiami... I don't remember the last time I ordered anything from them.

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next

Well the original MP Hot Rod is appropriate for Rodimus right? So it'd make sense without the Rodimus option that he'd be smaller.- 17093 replies

I'll be getting 1 monster... and will probably have to sell something to make room for it.

The effect parts are available like the Tamashii stands. They have explosions and broken ground, pretty cool if you have a display case.

I haven't heard anything from CDJapan yet.

They really went the other way from Yamato by putting that head maybe a little too recessed into the chest.

In my transformation guide I advise keeping the foot extended but closed when positioning it to make it a bit easier.

Is that an escalator that swings down for the crew? Crazy. Amazing detail.

I didn't ask for much from my stand... but I liked what I got.

The thing I hate about HLJ's private warehouse is the lag from shipping request to shipped...

Wait, did you say the stands are terrible and then lament that you didn't get one with the toy? If it's terrible it seems like it should be no biggy right? My stands must still be tight from being new or something because they worked out pretty well though the GBP does have the heft that I could see straining them. I totally think that it's super stupid we didn't get stands with the HMR releases but instead get some non-sense extras like spent missile pieces for the GBP or wings without hard points.

Macross Δ (Delta) - NYE Special Talkback - READ 1st POST
jenius replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Late to this but.... VOTOMs. -
It's not like the barrels are made of lead... this thing should have no problem standing on its own even with much smaller feet. I'd think, if anything, it's a nod to its appearance in the show.

Well if anyone remembers to bump this thread when a preorder goes up I'd be most appreciative.

I had no friggin' clue what that structure was they were fighting on. I figured it was meant to be something cool and they ran out of money. -
Macross Δ (Delta) Mecha/Technology Thread - READ 1st POST
jenius replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
I think the strangest thing to me is that this entire conversation seems to stem from misreading my original post. I never inferred that any of the technologies in the first episode didn't fit Macross. There seems to have developed since then a suggestion accredited to me where I had an issue with the technologies. My question all along has been rather simply "are the writers really going to be able to handle having super tech and all the possible plot problems that can lead to." You can say "Hey, I think they're off to a good start." After one episode I very much have doubts but you're optimistic and that's fine. -
Just compared it to some pics of my Yamato and yeah, I concur, that's a brand new mold. Absolutely insane to do a 1/12 Scopedog but hey, if this thing makes it to release I for sure will get it. I will say that the sculpt looks universally too wide from top of head to bottom of foot. It's like they took a scopedog and stretched it left to right 15% (with exception to the flaps on top of the feet, if the foot was 15% smaller the flap would be perfect). It looks like it might have double jointed elbows which would be a huge win.
