Since I don't read Japanese, is that a September release date or a September preorder date? Also, I see the Max info, was there info for Miria also? It'd be sweet if these are our September/October releases. EDIT - yes, that Max VF-1J is mistransformed in fighter mode. The legs/arms shouldn't be at that angle to make the gun point at the nose!
  2. Maybe, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they don't do Hikaru for another six to nine months... they haven't seemed in a rush.

No, it's just possibilities for voting.
  4. Someone posted on my site that they have one of the previous reissues and it had the improvements so you should be safe.
  5. Back in the day the word on the street was that they would never revisit the 1/48 scale because it would be way too expensive. Maybe now that they've seen they can charge of 30,000 Yen a valk that's changed.
  6. It was so Bandai could make the super part sets Valk specific is my guess and it really mucked things up. Just terrible.
  7. Macross Quarter needed all that articulation so it could surf giant asteroids... obviously. Must let go of hatred of Frontier movies....
  8. You think that's a brand new valk they just created or one of their first run that they've just coupled up with some Yammy strike parts to show what they're going to make? I'd bet on the latter since preorders aren't up.
  9. Without the strike parts but with the stand it was 16,800. Without the stand but with GBP parts it was 23,800. So, I'm guessing these will probably be 20,000 MSRP.
  10. You can get Road Rage for dirt cheap these days so the cost of entry is very low though truthfully I've never taken mine out of the box so I can't speak to the quality of it. I don't think any collection can lack Optimus...
  11. Looks like a straight reissue of their first Focker release.. now with strike parts.Seems like a great time to reissue standalone parts since they'll already be making them, fingers crossed. Wonder if they'll start weathering also.
  12. They read this thread and were like "guaranteed money, why not?" Surprised that's the one they chose...
  13. Yuck, not in my household. I'm in the camp that prefers to say it more like "Motor speeder", "moe-speed-uh". The good news is, it's not an actual word so everyone can be right on that one. When we find the person pronouncing AT-AT as 8-8 we can all make fun of them.
  14. I think you're very right on the Arcadia pricing, I can't see people spending $200 a vf-1 which is all the more reason to hope that if a new valk comes it's a Bandai DX toy. That though, puts Bandai in a very odd place. Bandai would do to themselves what Yamato did to them when the HM line was originally issued. Maybe that explains why Bandai was toying (heh) with the idea of a much large DX toy.... so the pricing is so dramatically different from the HMR line the sales aren't cannibalized. It might also explain why Bandai would obtain the 1/60 VF-1 license (if they did, and I'm not saying they did), it would be insurance against Arcadia killing the HMR line like Yamato did to the HM line.
  15. As to the proportions, to each their own, but if I photoshop the two to be the same size I'm pretty sure you'd be amazed at how good the HMR is. I did do this picture before with the original Hi-Metal and the HMR pretty much solves the two major weaknesses (head and jolly roger placement). In fighter mode, I've heard lots of people complain, but... I dunno... As to odd design choices, I'm pretty sure the price point is as far as you need to look. If Bandai does a DX there'd be something worth comparing... my fingers are crossed. I don't think a Yamato V3 is coming but I still think a DX is. Where's Arcadia's Garland prototype? I'm more interest in that than the Zero armor. I'd also be interested in a 0C.
  16. I think I'm gonna buy a lightly used A7 soon. My old A4 has 160k miles on it and it's showing its age.
  17. in this installment the rebels blow up Death Star zero, the size of a smaller moon, by deactivating the shields... it's gonna be super Star Warsy.

Too many people using the Paypal backdoor of "my item was damaged in shipping and even though I didn't buy the offered shipping Amiami should have bought it anyway."
  19. Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
  20. I think you had a very good counterpoint though, maybe 1/32 is biting off too much. Perhaps the 1/48 would be the better route to go given the need to re-engineer some bits anyway to make it more of a toy (and open the possibility for a Tread later). While I genuinely really like the idea it's probably too niche to ever take off. If anyone is in the toy industry and thinks it's worth giving it a try I'm happy to spend some time on the project. I suppose it's best to wait and see what Evolution is working on any way. If they killed it there'd really be no market.
  21. Last time this conversation happened all the folks that very much wanted Arcadia reissues were very angry that I continued to discuss the rumor going around that BW had pulled the license and was having all licenses rebid as sort of standard operating procedure leading up to the release of a new show. The story was that Arcadia was told before the release of the GBP that it would be their last SDF Macross licensed product until new licenses were issued. Really though, the options come down to 2 companies. Arcadia either secured the license again OR Bandai secured the license. It wouldn't be anyone else and if Bandai wanted it they would have easily outbid Arcadia. I guess the third option would be that the license went non-exclusive. At the end of the day, we won't know until someone starts selling some VF-1 product in a deluxe scale. The one thing that makes the rumor at all suspect in my mind is Arcadia's YF-19 reissue. If all licenses were yanked for rebidding would Bandai really let Arcadia win the Mac+ license if they could easily issue a repaint of the 19Advance as a YF-19? I mean, I guess they could have if the new licenses are only issued for fairly short durations and Bandai knows they'll be too busy with Delta and the HMR line to bother with Mac+ so they'll wait a couple years and come back to it? I dunno, but I stand by the notion that it's way too much of a slam dunk for Arcadia to be printing VF-1 reissues so their absence is proof of some sort of a restriction or inability.
  22. Yes, it was so bad the company went out of business. Everyone pretty much stopped preordering and started waiting for the deep discount bins. If you bought your V2 VF-1 toy for more than $100 you paid too much. I'm still pretty sure the reason you aren't seeing Arcadia VF-1 toys is because they no longer have the license. It makes no sense otherwise.
