Yep, thanks, I opened a ticket.
  2. As I understand it, the GERWALK kit is both battroid and fighter kits. You can have a fighter mode and a battroid mode. However, if you want to build a GERWALK you can do so and you'll have half a fighter mode and half a battroid mode left over.

It can't be that because not everyone is getting the additional charge. Maybe it depends on what box they grabbed. Maybe the people getting the surcharge will find their toys arriving in oversized boxes because NY ran out of smaller ones. EDIT - and still, people should be happy, NY still hasn't shipped mine. Just that preparation email.
  4. We have no idea what's going on with Arcadia's licensing or what deals they may have cut with BW.

I still haven't gotten an NY notice of any kind, other than preparation.
  6. Photoshop vs not photoshop... remember, they haven't actually made the product yet.
  7. Duke Togo is right. If I asked everyone I worked with if they like Star Wars most would say 'yes'. If I asked about the extended universe I might find one or two that were aware of it and has an opinion.
  8. Is MP-14+ just a mainland asia thing or will it be available at the traditional Japanese stores?
  9. Those were probably Toynami's best Alpha products...

Bandai really needs to work out a deal with TakaraTomy to do a dual Macross/Transformer Masterpiece release... but that'd need to be DX.

I thought the previous page had a VF-1J Max with a placard that said "September" on it? I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a TV version of Focker in the future given his popularity and the DYRL box art.

Maybe there was a span of time where they just had the wrong price on their site? Maybe everyone who isn't getting the invoice didn't order during the window when the shipping price was wrong? Or maybe it depends on which side of whatever country you're in.
  13. This probably should be asked in the VF-0D dedicated thread but the answer is, nobody knows. I'd guess no time soon since they are putting up a VF-1 for preorder and they have a Zero release already in the pipeline (the armor) and potentially a cannon fodder 0A as well.
  14. Are there no preorders yet on the 31A and 31C 2 mode sets yet? I only see fighter modes on HLJ.
  15. There's nothing misleading at all about saying the same toy costs 70% more in the same currency. If you're comfortable with that because of other toy releases and some speculation and assumptions, that's fine, it just seems high to me. My speculation and assumption is that Arcadia is doing a small run and has calculated the price point they need to sell a much smaller number of toys. By way of supply and demand, the price, the price point they picked is pretty high. My further speculation is that Arcadia is a super conservative company based on what happened to Yamato and will continue to produce tiny runs priced at the high end of the curve. If you think 21,800Yen is totally reasonable then that just puts you on the sweet part of their curve and there's nothing wrong with that.
  16. Not disingenuos, necessary given the unknowns. We know that Arcadia bought a very used mold off Yamato. We can presume there was a steep discount over the cost of a new mold given. We don't know if Arcadia had to spend to renew their SDF Macross license. We also don't know what kind of volume discounts Yamato may have gotten vs. Arcadia. There's plenty to not know. At the end of the day, the EXACT SAME TOY costs 70% more in the SAME currency. Sure, using US inflation isn't the most appropriate measure. We should be using Japanese inflation. The problem there is that Japan is often fighting DEFLATION so when we talk inflation over that 7 year span we're probably talking about less than the US measure.
  17. Don't get me wrong, I love the V2 toy and think, in hindsight, it was an amazing deal. At 21.8K it is definitely NOT an amazing deal any more. As far as inflation is concerned, if a valk cost $100 in 2008, it should cost $110 today (ignoring all other variables besides inflation). This is a fun tool.
  18. We're talking about a 70% price hike from 2008. In comparison, a VF-19 advance, which had like no repaint variants, tons of extras, and is far more complicated cost 23k.
  19. But that's misleading also. If they were priced reasonably you'd still get the x% discount off retail.
  20. Super parts used to be a 3k premium.
  21. Anybody have an 11NR box they don't need? I'll gladly buy it.
  22. Does it come with the Arcadia stand? If it does, the price makes a lot more sense.
  23. Man... that's a higher MSRP than I was expecting and I thought I was calculating in the Arcadia bump.
