  1. That sums up my reaction pretty much as well.
  2. He had like ten of them in the show, some were pretty new.

Brexit is going to hammer the exchange rate. HMRs just got a wee bit more expensive everybody!
  4. Good junkyard feel to it. Will there likely be variants? Like a factory fresh version or something?
  5. My guess, elite death trooper goes turncoat after empire kills lots of its own, hence the soldier holding the doll.

Are you saying the problem is the animation? Maybe it's like the YF1R from Robotech... but like I said, I don't have a problem with it.

Go back one page. I'd argue it was just lighting in the scene but I also thinks it's nice to get a different take.

Bandai would probably look at sales and wonder why so many more people buy vf1 toys but act like the Glaug and Monster, which comparatively few buy, are said to be what everyone wants.

And price, they wanted to be far cheaper than larger scale VF toys... though they didn't get that far!

Just as different as the HMR Hikaru from the HM Hikaru I would imagine. Different biceps, metal hinge in chest, and removable nose cone so you can throw a GBP on it. Plus some extra accessories like the new chest fillers I imagine.
  11. Remember, they don't actually own the likeness of the characters so no grounds for HG to sue. They only own the unique aspects... which for many of them is just their names. Edit, I guess that can't be entirely true, because they have the rights to merchandise based on the likeness of the characters.
  12. Yeah, RE7 was a swing and a miss. That genre is tough. I feel like PT got me so amped for a new game that it will be tough for a horror game to live up to it for a while.
  13. What's different about the nose?
  14. If you're trying to destroy a spaceship, why would you board it? Otherwise, looks cool.
  15. Wow, they should call the Scorpio system the X box One R because Xboner seems appropriate.
  16. Well, 'people are concerned about this film' kind of describes every fan's feeling going into any sequel of an established series. The reshoots only add to this, warranted or not. That could also be said as 'people are excited about this film' too.
  17. I think we all get your point, you and a tiny minority of vocal folks who hated it equal half of the people who viewed TFA. That's math that is incontrovertible.

They should include the DYRL Launch arm with each of the DYRL VF-1A toys. That might convince a couple more people to buy Max and Kakizaki's VF-1A. Heck... it'd probably convince me to bite on those schemes.

They should totally package those stands with releases they don't expect to sell well because those stands are nice.
  20. I do remember feeling that Mylene drugging episode was out of place but at the same time, I think the idea was to try to reinforce that the folks in these shows really are true idols. In real life idols are generally young and likely face all sorts of perils with adults trying to use them for their own gain (be that monetary or otherwise). I think it was very poorly handled in Mac7 but that's my reasoning for why they did it. Also, this is a political thread. Sexuality is not political but the question isn't "Is it okay for people to be gay?" The question is, should a Macross series feature a homosexual love triangle at its core? You can say "Sure, there's nothing wrong with that" but what if you were to say instead, "No, I want Macross to have as broad appeal as possible and I think a homosexual love triangle would turn off the red states and red countries." I mean, that's political right? So basically this is a political thread as soon as someone says "no." .

The regult wasn't sold out immediately, in fact, our Japanese members might still be seeing it in some places. As the old logic goes, Japanese toy purchasers tend not to go for enemy mecha. The glaug was doubly risky in that a person willing to buy one regult was likely doing a display of some sort and so they easily be convinced to buy a second or third regult. I just can't imagine more than a handful of people feeling they need two or more glaugs. The price was also a consideration and some people were bound to feel they just needed regults for their display. The Monster release has the benefit of being a good guy mecha but otherwise suffers from the 'maybe one' dilemma as well as the high price and large size. I can only hope Bandai has been adjusting supply accordingly.
  22. This could be a neat conversation but too political. I would think if humanity were brought to the brink of extinction there'd be like nationalistic homophobia. It would be seen as a human duty to reproduce. Then again, maybe cloning tech would offset that. Maybe cloning would be seen as alien though and there might even be anti clone groups.
