The general consensus is that yes, Yamato over-scaled their Regult. I would guess it was because they were actually trying to figure out what size the Regult would need to be based on the supposed dimensions of an average Zentran soldier. That's totally just a guess. Robotech.com used to say that the Battlepod was a hair over 17m so there might be some conflicting information about the true size of the thing too... or maybe Robotech.com was measuring to the top of the lasers rather than the crown.

I never really got the argument that the VF battroid should be the same size as a Zentraedi soldier. The only way it would really make sense is if they thought that battroid mode vehicles would need to infiltrate and operate Zentraedi weaponry. Otherwise, if I told you that you could be any size between 5' and 10' and that you were going to get in a fist fight with a 6' tall guy, you'd probably opt to be closer to 10' right? I think that's what the official scaling reflects.

Wish I were excited but after CMS flubbed it I've become convinced it's going to take one of the more established players to do it right.

They cost the same... if you had a time machine and were buying Yamato releases on sale. The 1/60 line also never had a Monster, Glaug, or Regult. That said, what the 1/60 line did have (especially the V2 VF-1 toys) is amazing and I'm super stoked to have both. I don't remember seeing one teased yet but I'm sure you're not alone in hoping for one. Bandai did the DYRL Kakizaki the first time around and sweetened the pot by including a bonus with it. I hope they revisit that line of thought this time. Maybe Hayao and Max's TV valks will come with optional weaponry for the Regults or something, I'd be down with that (and hopefully a regult reissue not long after that happened). The guys at the Tamashii show said the N-Ger was also remarkably complete looking while much of the other stuff was clearly rapid prototype. I'm optimistic we'll get these releases but with the Regult, Glaug, and Monster all seeming pretty easy to get, I'm not counting any chickens.

Let's not get ahead of our selves, if it continues this will be great but it has a ways to go.

You can buy two sets of the sold separately original hi metal super parts then replace the HMR supers on Miria's with standard supers. You would have both toys with standard supers. The problem is you need to find two sets of those supers and they're not super easy to come by at a decent price.

There are releases in September, October, and November so I wouldn't rule December out but it may be greedy to hope for something then.

HLJ didn't make it easy but I finally got one... logged me out and the check out page kept not loading. I'm guess the Max toy wasn't the only thing available for preorder tonight.
