I hope that art work is a big spread so Bandai can focus in on each destroid for its box also... assuming we get the others.
-
If they could just bring those intakes down a smidgen, that 3/4 shot where you can barely see the head... that's also going to impair head articulation.

I'm in, looks good to me.

so some of the shoulder thickness I thought I saw was just the attached middle missile bay. That's cool. The nosecone drops way low down the back so fighter mode probably looks pretty aggressive. I would prefer the nosecone higher up in soldier mode but I'm hoping that means fighter mode looks really sharp.

Saw this in the toys section and was excited, but alas, is not to be.

I don't get why people are so hung up on the visuals. I still enjoy cartoons from the 80s. That said, not much to go on yet.

I can say without hesitation that it looks much better than the CM's toy. There are some design choices I'd disagree with though. The two that leap out most quickly are the intakes sitting too high creating a valley for the head and the feet being too big and narrow. The arms also look really thick so I wonder if they're going for a fighter mode where there's no gap between the arms or a very small gap instead of a gap the same width as the arms themselves.

Yeah, mini Minmay is all over eBay. Anyone know what she retails for at the con? No VF-1D toys to shop through...

Here's the link about the mini being fixed: http://www.polygon.com/2016/7/14/12193472/mini-nes-classic-edition-faq-nintendo

Star Trek: Prelude to Axanar short film
jenius replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Even if the Axanar folks were working with the right person at Paramount to do everything within bounds that were carefully plotted for them, all it takes is one Paramount attorney reviewing what's going on and saying "Well, technically you shouldn't be doing this..." for it all to come apart. The problem, almost always in life, is that within the people you want to celebrate there's a few bad apples that will exploit every inch you give in ways you do not desire nor foresee. Ever wonder why tax codes are horrible messes? It's because they start off as something fairly simple and every time someone comes up with some inventive way to circumvent the spirit of the tax law the law needs to get modified to stop that.- 94 replies

Yep, battle pods were vinyl also. They do scale well but the vinyl collection also had Voltron stuff.

technically that was in the vinyl line and no. They just released GBP in this line over the last holidays.

Star Trek Beyond (the not The Search for Spock)
jenius replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
He's referencing Macross where the music that saves the day is unique to the Macross universe, not an existing historical song. Of course Macross then elaborated on that with spiritia which one hopes will bear nothing in common with what this film does. I think a unique song is preferable, less of an American culture thing instead of a human culture thing.- 466 replies

If I got a replacement arm, yes. If I were to try to do a printed part or a repair more surgery would be in order.
-
Yeah, any pointers on removing and replacing those hollow posts used to attach them?
-
Gluing definitely won't do, the shoulders are super tight on those ball joints and would cause tremendous stress when moved around. I might look and see if I can disassemble the arm a bit and loosen the shoulder on the second one I got. After my Arcadia VF0 toys in super gun shy about stuff like this.
-
I'll attach pics later. It's too small for most repairs. A 3d printed part might work. Not sure on JB Weld since I've never used it, if you think it might work after you see the pics I'll certainly try.

My crummy luck strikes again! I finally have a break from school so I decided to film my HMR Strike VF-1 toy review. As I was transforming my Focker to gerwalk from fighter the arm broke off. I thought at first it was just the hinge popped free which is no big deal but instead it's the actual metal part that is new to the HMR line in the shoulder broke in two! The metal part. WTF? Maybe a casting issue... looks like the arm is on the ball joint super tight and the ball joint itself has a thin base so at the base it split free as the shoulder rotated. So... I now have a fighter mode only Strike Focker toy. Fortunately, I bought two... EDIT - if anyone ends up with a junker Focker toy, I'd love to buy an arm off you!

It probably means inconsistent scale... like 1/48 in fighter mode and 1/36 in soldier or vice versa. Wouldn't be the end of the world.
