I would double-check that... it'd make sense that Yamato would have reissued them after they made the change to avoid this dilemma, allowing everyone to upgrade there team to later editions, but it seems hard to believe they put more Kakizakis on the market with how slow it moved.

Sure, maybe BW approved it under the pretense that both the Yamato scheme and the Bandai scheme are correct, depending on which mission M&M were on because their super parts got repainted occasionally. Maybe the Bandai HMR VF-1J Max is the DYRL version... it would explain the arm armors but would not explain why Max would ever have that ride instead of a 1J head on his skull colors.

I don't know what point you're trying to make so I'm not sure how to respond. Are you saying it can't be that Bandai wanted to do something different? Are you arguing it has to be that the Bandai scheme must now be considered correct? Bandai just cheaps it out and doesn't do a separate TV arm armor mold.

The answer to that is the beginning of the previous anecdote. M&M's super schemes have always been questionable... a fertile land for interpretations.

I very much doubt that, if they could reissue the M&M VF-1J, they'd go with the Bandai scheme. There's room for multiple interpretations and it's quite possible that Bandai went to BW and said "We want to differentiate our product so this is the scheme we'd like to use, are you okay with it?" BW would have then looked at the checks Bandai cut and said "Yeah, you do whatever you want."

Hard to decipher but it sounds like some paint and a sticker sheet so you can really jazz it up. Do people just put a black Light in an desk lamp?

Actually no, the HMR Dougram being released is 1/60 scale so that's not the concern. Edit - adding measurements will definitely be a big part of updates going forward. I'm thinking about making a comprehensive list of all toys and measurements and the calculations of actual scale.

Yeah, I don't think you can get TV Kakizaki with a clear canopy and you can't get TV Roy with a rainbow canopy. Hikaru's 1j and Max's 1A can be had in late or new styles.

Totally agree, give the Gakken a few more points of articulation and a true to anime paint scheme and it could be amazing.
