New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)

Plus brought depth to Macross? I like Plus but never thought of it as deep. People handle good news in funny ways around here. -
New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)

Frontier wasn't perfect but overall I thought it was very good. I felt like Delta was a 'careful what you wish for' moment for me. During Frontier I wished we got more on Galaxy... then Delta was like 'you want to peek being the curtain? Here spend several episodes there.' I still think the Frontier movies were dreadful so I hope this new movie steps it up. -
Well sh9000 was showing 2 items being purchased but if you're referring to NY then yeah, that's some hard-core completion- ism.

You can't bank on what Kawamori said about Megaroad 01 at all... he said it a LONG time ago and he has since put allusions to Minmay in Frontier and put even more about it into Delta. I don't think we will see a Megaroad 01 show buttt I definitely wouldn't take it off the table. By bringing it back into Delta he also seemed to impart some serious significance on whatever happened to them as we then allegedly got Mikumo out of it. I'd still rather see Macross the First animated though.... REBOOT! -
I agree, we'll probably get a "TV GBP + Hikaru" release that will be the GBP parts with a slightly brighter blue and a reissue of the Hikaru VF-1J with a gray visor (and blue canopy) before we'll see a reissue of the first version of the GBP. I also think we'll get the DYRL VF-1A toys as Tamashii exclusives with separate super/strike parts just like last time.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)

Awesome news on all counts. If the movie is a Delta retelling or follow-up, I think it would be easy to address many of the issues folks have with it so that could be cool. Obviously the new show is huge news and could go any direction so I'm thrilled. I feel like Macross has gotten a little Star Trek now in that they've gone soooo far into the future that the better story telling bits would lie in between Macross SDF and Delta. -
Wow new box, not just a sticker.

I'd go for a premium finish 19 over a weathering version.

I never even thought to dream of such things but.... that'd be amazing. Honestly though, with today's tech they could do even better at that scale so if they go that root I hope we get a full DM3.

They haven't done a VF-1A yet so I think that's a big reach. I'd buy it and sell my 1S Hikaru.

Blaspheme! They're definitely not for everyone but I got mine dirt cheap and think they're a ton of fun. If they can get us those missing ones I'll be super stoked. Too bad they're not AGN but hopefully that means the price point is attractive. Take me to a preorder!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in theaters Dec. 16, 2016
jenius replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yes, it's hardly creative gold, but the Star Wars fans who know who Revan is are a teeny tiny fraction of Star Wars fans so it seems silly to let that negate the idea. That said, the same device has been used ad infinitum in other shows so even folks who have no idea who Revan is or that Star Wars has gone there still won't think "Holy crap, that's new!" That said, George Lucas made a point of NOT doing anything original with Star Wars. I mean, c'mon, that's why it works so brilliantly, it's lifted bits from stories that worked sewed together without making them less good (until he got to the prequels and went full Kung Pow on us). -
It's beautiful. It will be mine. Bring on the Rabidly!

I just finished watching Enterprise last night. Good God that last episode was awful. I found out I'm not a true Trek fan because I really liked the Xindi arc and it's kind of the antithesis of what Star Trek is supposed to be. Even so, I like the idea of more Trek.

No, Kakizaki always had a 1A. Hikaru's 1S shield is also inconsistent. That scene may be from mac7, I think there was a flashback.

Not really a technical reason but a lack of forethought that would have made it more costly. The original plan for the 1/48 mold was very tentative and they never though they'd make any where near as many variants as they did. It was going to be the few most popular valks (all 1 seaters) so they never worked out the geometry or tried to make the design in such a way that the items unique to 2 seaters would involve as few new parts as possible. As they started making more variants and new toys like the 1/60 Mac+ and MacZero line, it was obvious that they needed to do a better 1/60 VF-1. The goal with the 1/60V2 was never as tentative as it had been with the 1/48, from the outset they wanted to make every variant. With the 1/48 line they could have created some new molds to make the parts specific to the 2 seaters but they were already designing the 1/60V2 and they had no desire to compete with themselves in the VF-1 market. So, instead of investing more in the 1/48 line they went all-in on the 1/60 V2. It was later said a 1/48 V2 was off the table due to the sky-rocketing costs that would be involved in such an endeavor. They have since said that the 1/48 molds are no longer serviceable so the line is entirely dead.

Just saw that the DYRL VF-1A from the original line are fetching upward of 10K Yen each at Mandarake... I gotta imagine we'll get HMR versions in the grayish color before the end of the year.

Yeah, Bandai doesn't seem to be the same stickler for details Yamato was. Cool, I'll tinker and pm if I have more questions.

What technique in Photoshop did you use to balance it? Did you just apply a filter or was it something more technical? I've been noticing that lots of pics on my website have slightly different hues and I was trying to determine a way to get them all to be uniform.

You can get the 19P for like $225 shipped on ebay.

I've been watching it on youtube though it looks like only 2/3rds of the episodes are there with english subs so my enjoyment is bound to end prematurely. I definitely prefer Votoms to Dougram so far but I'm a big Votoms fan so that isn't saying a whole lot. I feel like I can summarize what happens in the first 43 episodes in a single paragraph. I think kids with the shorter attention spans of today would get bored and lose interest. Still, I enjoy it, wish I knew I could finish it.
