The renewal VF25 cost about the same as the original... like 2000 yen more and you got a display stand. This actually sounds like a Robotech vs Macross debate in some respects on a very high level. Robotech tells the story of a prolonged resource war. Macross made the very conscious effort not to go that way and it probably saved the franchise since the pop music is a big part of its success. It definitely causes some groan worthy moments but I still find the shows fun. I really enjoyed Frontier.

Has someone tried asking them on Twitter if they intend to do a premium version of Miria? Maybe they'll give an honest answer like "We're considering it" or maybe they'll just say "No."

The fan racer being out of production is one thing, supporting kos in lieu of competing original product is bad show.

FYI for those of you who missed Wondercon, this Robotech Battlecry Toynami 1/100 toy will be available at Anime Expo and SDCC as well. If they haven't sold all of them after Comic-Con there's a pretty good bet that it will show up at the Toynami and Robotech stores for a very minor mark-up like last year's SDCC VF-1D toy.

I think the reason the Yamato CF VF-1J is lighter color is because, in the scene where he is shown training, Hikaru's CF VF-1J is a very pale brown. -

Doesn't Arcadia give you clips with their YF-19? I imagine most people just want to know if the LEDs work and that's all they'd need the knock off for.

While it's good info, it's important to remember this isn't Arcadia and trying to apply it to Arcadia would just be another forn of speculation.

In Star Wars technology goes backwards. It peaked in the prequels, devolved into the original trilogy, and now is just the same stuff being kicked around (and some vehicles even look haphazardly slapped together in the newest trailer).

My Arcadia VF-0 toys (both the 0D and 0A) both had the leg fall off the first time I rotated it at the hip. Surely I get to complain. High end collectible or not, the advertisement says these things can accomplish all modes and it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect them, when handled and transformed correctly, not to break. That's a huge part of what you're paying for. The complaints about Megatron seem to be, that even when transformed with the utmost care, it's nearly impossible to not strip some paint. High end collectible or not, you'd hope that any company making any product does a little bit of R&D and works out obvious kinks. That said, I consider a little paint wear a minor complaint compared to things like the original Yamato V2 shoulders breaking off or the legs on the Arcadia VF-0. -
I think the cost of the VF4G confirms the theory that licensing costs play a big part in the increased cost of Arcadia goods. The counter argument are the Zero toys which shouldn't have large licensing costs but still cost an arm and a leg.

I think Bandai hasn't done HMR supers yet because they've included supers with ever set except Hikaru's 1J and the cannon fodder. Obviously the VT and VE will have their own supers so we may be a ways a way from an HMR super release still. If they decide to do the DYRL 1A toys one day and they include the super parts then we may never see standalone HMR supers.

The HM packs originally cost around $20... now they're going for like $60... kinda crazy.

I have the 31 on top, I'd probably go with the 19Adv second. I love the YF-29 and VF-25 Renewal toys but there's no doubt that we're on the generation past that now.

It's speculation but either demand (both Bandai and Arcadia bid the price up) or Bandai has the rights and Arcadia has to pay Bandai and BW to release SDF merchandise. It's also entirely possible Arcadia is very poorly capitalized so they haven't been able to do much of any thing while they scrape cash together one release at a time... but that doesn't explain the licensing comment.

Theoretically, they have to pass on the tax because they have to pay it. It's a Japanese exclusive not a wholesale product. It's like they're in Japan buying it at a store for you and then shipping it to you. HLJ used to be able to work out a wholesale price on exclusives with Yamato but we don't know if NY can do that.
