I thought we already had a first hand account that the color really is purple pink and not just lighting.
  2. Cool, I probably have to make an update on my site.

I plan on pulling out my max and milia soon so I will double check but I just did a review of the original super parts and know the lock worked on those toys. While doing that i tried the lock on my HMR Hik 1s and got no joy. Think i tried the HMR GBP and HMR Roy 1s as couldn't get the lock you engage either. Fortunately, all have very stiff backpack hinges.

I wonder if other folks are about to have similar issues or if you're the victim of a unique screw up.
  5. I didn't know it came with the assembly kit. It was a TRex WonderFest exclusive at some point also.

Oddly, the backpack lock doesn't work on my HMR toys but DOES work on my original HM toys.
  7. My friends in Japan tell me about things they see at WonderFest and they've never been to Kentucky.

Sounds like the guy or gal at UPS read the value in a currency other than Yen.

Ending soon? I still need like a dozen vf1 variants, three destroids, and several bad guys... and maybe some dorama display stands.
  10. Ready for pre-order.
  11. 31 is full win the first time but they really gotta put a knuckle in that trigger finger. The 262 is still really cool with a couple weak spots.
  12. The 262 is crazy complicated. Unfortunate it's not perfect but also not terribly surprising. V2!
  13. Some of that comes from the background of the characters. It's like that poster earlier. In alien the protagonists are future space truckers. For right or wrong, we expect blue collar decision makers to make practical decisions. If the audience knows it's the wrong decision, at least we also know why the character chooses to behave in a certain way. The same thing goes for Aliens. We have space marines making decisions that, on their surface, at least seem justifiable from the perspective of a marine. It may be an overly cocky stereotypical marine, but we're given enough of the characters to understand that. Alien 3 we have prisoners making the decisions we would expect prisoners to make with enough story around them to give a little more basis (ie. the religious stuff). In Prometheus, we have a scientific mission with specially selected smart people making common sense stupid decisions. To make it worse, we're not given background that these are just book smart nerds... the background we're given seems to imply all of these people have practical applications of their expertise. Then these experts surrender to stupidity at every possible turn in the road. The whole rolling ship that crushes Charlize Theron's character becomes symbolic imagery of the prevailing stupidity of the entire spectacle. It's not bad writing to have someone make a stupid decision, especially if context is given be it panic or misjudgment. It is bad writing to set someone up as an expert, never given cause for doubt, and then have them act in patently stupid ways until the demise of themselves and others. This gets back to the "MAKE ALIENS SCARY" statement as well. Alien is scary when we can imagine ourselves in the shoes of the protagonists. When we spend the whole time thinking "Oh this idiot DESERVES to die" it's a whole lot less scary.

I haven't heard anything from NY since the preparation in progress. I checked Paypal and no pending invoices. I wonder what's going on...

Ny has a bad tendency of using homemade boxes which may explain the slow shipping and random charges.
  16. If I was making my own list, that'd be pretty high up there on it. I actually really enjoyed the Xindi story line, I thought it was a nice departure from the usual Trek. EDIT - there are two elements about that story line that really bugged me though: 1) The first attack on Earth should have been an attempt to destroy the entire planet that fails instead of some sort of trial run macguffin that seems to only serve to get Enterprise to come looking for them 2) The time traveling shenanigans which were seemingly separate from the other time traveling shenanigans
  17. What's with the Robotech talk? Unless Sony does something, Robotech is dead.
  18. I dunno, the thesis for Enterprise's failure was that it got too dark and not episodic enough during the Xindi arc.

Blasphemy! We're finally getting all the destroids and you abandon the line? For shame good sir!

Chrome is telling me not to even go to nippon-yasan any more... I guess it's redirecting to a non https site that is unsecure. I mentioned before, NY combined shipping is a rip off in comparison to HLJ... if I can lump together purchases it's usually just as cheap or cheaper to pay more up front and less on shipping with HLJ. NY, you might as well just ship everything as it becomes available because lumping things together just means you pay all the individual shipping charges at once rather than the true cost of shipping one box instead of several (that's a little bit of an exaggeration, it's a tiny bit cheaper than paying all the individual shipping amounts).
  21. I preordered it... think it's shipping with my Focker premium format and a couple other toys. I hope it's not delayed.
