jenius replied to Pontus's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
After college (a long time ago now!) I found MW. In my young 20s I was pretty insufferable both on these boards and elsewhere. As both a fan of Max and the humor of the ironic mispelling of genius in the context of these boards, the handle was 'prefect'. Later, I was offered the anymoon website but it was unclear how long I'd be able to operate on it so I made the name 'scorched earth toys' with the assumption it might have to be housed somewhere other than anymoon.com someday. Turns out, I've been able to keep anymoon.com so now the two name thing is just confusing and since my handle here predates the site, it's yet another name to throw in. -

Yikes, I hope you're wrong, I just asked to have mine ship with the Hi-Metal R VF-19Kai and Tiny Session YF-19.

I haven't been checking in on this thread enough, amazing work! I missed it, how did you do the canopy?

So many different variations of how this could happen. The design was originally paid for by Yamato and they went out of business. Arcadia may have kept the molds but the design may have reverted back to T-Rex. The design is also very old at this point so it's possible there were time limits involved by any of the companies involved that have all now passed. Everything previously postulated is in play too. I agree, up to the VF-0, Bandai seemed desperate almost to put their own mark on things (like the YF-21 where they threw out even what Kawamori had done). I'm okay with them shrinking good designs and making them more affordable, seems like a win for all of us.

I join the chorus of approval on the NIN soundtrack.

Seems like a good time to repost this. Mike, just grab a tape measure and put it next to one of your transformers at any of these heights:

It's technically non scale but the releases range between 1/80 and 1/100.

I agree with the hopes we get all the variants. Curious if this sound booster is a straight reissue with new clips.

Mine should go up this weekend, just waiting on my voice to recover from a head cold to finish.

Looks like Arcadia has a lot of competition in the VF-1 space... Maybe this will be the mold's last hurrah, like the repackaged 1/48 VF-1 toys from Yamato.
-
Haha, sounds about right.

The hands were pretty bad and likely getting brittle at this point so don't fight them too much. Best to remove the hand, install the gun, then reinstall the hand. I think someone here sold cast hands once upon a time and there were some with the GBP and TV toys

I thought the same. I'm guessing they were concerned the way the wings are grabbed in battroid might cause them to come out with the weight on the backpack.

The first Genesis breaker you seemed to sell well, I wonder why they haven't announced a second... OR THE TREAD??? Maybe they'll announce reissues of all the Legioss and then do the TREAD.

I took mine out for a hot second but I'm still focusing on the YF-21 for now. As someone else observed, the stabilizer that is frequently broken was knocked inward on mine but it wasn't enough to break it.

My first VT-1 has intact vertical stabilizers.

My VT-1 from Yoyakunow is arriving tomorrow.

Any tutorials on a matchbox sdf1 1/3000 breakdown

While the sentimental side of me still loves glossy plastic toys, that matte finish is looking superb. -
Any tutorials on a matchbox sdf1 1/3000 breakdown
jenius replied to nonner242's topic in The Workshop!
The Matchbox 1/3000? I don't have any tutorials but it's a very simple toy. I took one apart and put it back together for funsies. I have one now that has been needing a shoulder repair for years... some day I'll get to it. -
Call it the "Moshow Cyclone" as they're the ones behind it and it won't confuse it with previous efforts. I agree... it does seem like that rider might not be very natural on that bike. Roboemo, it feels like you're probably as much an authority on the uniforms as any of the show's creators. What I mean is, since we haven't seen something specific in the pretty hefty amount of production materials that are public, they likely never laid out nuances. You could probably outline it all and it would be as close to canon as we'd ever get.

Thanks for the quick report, I was curious if they would make some improvements but it sounds like a straight reissue other than the text.

Yamato's GnuDou was a really good battroid only toy that emulated the line art very well.
