Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Zor Primus replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
What's even more tragic is that Jar Jar is single-handedly responsible for Palpatine's getting emergency powers...dill-witted fool...the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Sith all b/c of a creature that has the intelligence of a toilet.- 1217 replies

I hate Jar Jar...more so then anything else Lucas has done with the franchise, this character is the epitome of all that went wrong with the prequels.- 1217 replies

Is it a similar case as with Bleach movies? Subs are made after DVD/Blu-ray release in Japan? If so when was the release? Gonna read back on this thread... -

No Destroid love in Frontier...watching the series now for the 3rd time. And from the first two episodes I noticed when the Vajra breached Island 1 the only ground units deployed were tanks...meh...what happened to the Destroids? I think if memory serves they only show up towards the end when the Vajra sprang from the eggs inside the ship and that was because most were "props" for the concert and had been marched during the "Victory Parade". This observation does not include Canaria's Monster

To quote Lestat: "There's still life in the old lady yet!!!" New News Not bad except for the fact that the city looks like modern day NY...

That movie looks rather bleak...and that's with the actor talking...not a peep from anyone about RT/LAM probably means the project has been torpedoed.

I'm even starting to doubt the interest WB really has in all this.

All Things Video Games Thread: II

Anyone else VERY disappointed with the last DLC for Dragon Age, Witch Hunt was the worst out of them all and sadly the most anticipated... -
Wow...if there was any confusion before, its now tripled... So in his words, all the series/movies were acts of fiction, none truly representing "what really happened"...I think I literally heard a few neurons pop with that one.

Captain Future!!! I used to watch it when I lived in Chile...

So true Gubaba Thanks for clarifying the ear question...with regards to the styles of the shows taking a more DYRL look I have a thought. I was told once that DYRL was the "Pearl Harbor, Saving Private Ryan movie" for those living in the SDFM universe...so taking that into account and looking at some of our own real life military "looks" can we say that the influence of a more flashy or techie look seen in a movie simply became a reality. I give the example of movies like Universal Soldier or Aliens the armor and head cam units and uniforms back when those movies came out seemed far out or not real. Now lets take a look at any modern soldier and they have all the gadgets and toys seen in the aforementioned movies. Uniform designs also have evolved from what we thought was fiction into reality. Can the same be said in the Macross universe?

Hmmm...from the pic I'm assuming Macross 7? Its been years since I saw it so guess I'll have to dig up the ole VHS lolz... Suppose its a bit of a mystery then where they came from, kinda like the Klingon's lumped foreheads. Never seen until after the original show.

Question...did they add elven ears to Zentraedi for flare in MF? Don't remember seeing them before then.

I don't think there are anymore...looked the other day when a buddy of mine from work wanted to get it. As far as ignorance goes, I'm about as smart as a flea when it comes to most of the stuff you guys go back and forth with on this thread. Personally its very enlightening to see so much information. I was a fan of Robotech first and foremost, still am...however a zealot never. Even before I actually got to see the original Macross I found it rather stupid to bash it. Now after having watching the original there is room to chuckle a bit at Robotech, but saying it plain out sucks...I can't. Now what does suck is what has happened in the years since. Shadow Chronicles did give me that "fix" but it didn't fulfill what as a fan I wanted. I'm one of the few who enjoyed the novels and comics, and yes Southern Cross was my fave All the Macross sequals were great imo. Well M7 not so much and therein lies the difference in the franchises for me. Macross fans can actually debate about sequals, stories, universe, characters beyond the original series. Robotech fans pass their time all these years either thrashing/defending the novels and comics, eliminating the only real "sequals" made apart from the Shadow Chronicles or taking apart frame by frame, line by line the original 85 eps. That got old and worn out after a while. Now I won't claim to be the end all know all of the Macross universe. I'm a novice at best as I haven't seen the original+sequals as many times as Robotech throughout the years, but I'm learning. And there is much to learn! I do think that HG has done a poor job with the franchise. Its a shame they own the Macross trademark, creatively they have been outmatched and outperformed over and over again...and that pattern will probably remain the same.

Out of the prequal figters the ETA-2 Jedi Starfighter was my favorite. The EU brought back its grandchild in the form of the ETA-5...the following is a fan image based loosely on the novel. Love it!
