LOL...aaah so that was that fighter was! The sketch on RT.com shown when Shadow Chronicles was announced! Now was that a Gamma Fighter or Gema Fighter?
-
I thought overall the episode also gave a nod to Day of the Dead, the new version...trapped inside a department store, breaking out in a truck...this show rocks, period.

The way the it was described in World War Z (above) was a rifle similar in design to those used in WWII...nothing high tech but it did the job. I'd go with a Glock for a sidearm, Graham's choice looks perfect...and for a rifle I'd go with something akin to what is described above. You'll say easier said then done, but thats the psychological effect of fighting the undead...I'd do my best to think that the person next to me is no longer there...what is attacking me is an abomination trying to eat me alive. One thing is to pull the trigger. What comes after such a fight is what really would test the measure of sanity one can retain. And that my friends is what makes the zombie war so different from others, its this mind frakk that makes this genre so appealing.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0
Zor Primus replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I am still watching Gurren Laggan, and just started Mazinger Shogeki...the Mrs. got her hands on my laptop and I will now have to add Chobits to the list of series that I am currently watching. I've got Macross 7 warming up in the bullpen, its been years since I saw it, hoping it won't be so rough this time. Also saw Macross II Lovers Again last weekend...I can't say enough how much that non-cannon universe rules . -
Yup...read that about a month ago...just like with Neo, Brandon Lee would have fit the part better.

Great, definitely Great! You will not be disappointed at all! I haven't read the entire comic series but they certainly managed to keep it VERY close to the original work. I won't repeat the praise already mentioned here, but I will add that what fascinated me most about this show and it will be something that I know will repeat itself throughout is how at times you don't know what is to come...drama or suspense. Will it be talk or is a zombie going to make things interesting in a scene. Your heart will pump and either way you will be pleased! A few people here in the office saw it and were also really into it, and more are to follow next week. Will be watching this show for sure!!! Zombies are UNDEAD...meaning they are creatures that for all intense and purposes are dead but their brain lives on and has basic functionality...one of those is to feed on living flesh, that is the fantasy of it, no need for science, if we could explain zombies scientifically then god forbid they're out there somewhere for real! 10pm on a Sunday doesn't strike me as early Prime Time TV...as a kid I was in bed at this time for sure...and if you noticed there were plenty of warnings before each segment started. As for the stump in the park, she was a random zombie, added for dramatic effect to show the emotional state of the main character. See what I wrote above...and yes the body does rot eventually the mystery is does this slow due to the fact that zombies feed on living flesh, maybe...again it's part of the lore and has no valid "explanation" like you saw in I am Legend. As for birds eating corpses this too changes from story to story, in Resident Evil any animal that is bit or eats from the undead become one, in World War Z and the rest of Romero's zombie tales they do not. Yes, the generally accepted speed of a zombie is slow...however from what we saw last night these . Also Napalm, conventional weapons, current military tactics are null and void when faced with a swarm. I suggest you read World War Z and skip to the chapter where they talked about the Battle of Yonkers. You have to keep in mind that this enemy has no concept of surrender, retreat, negotiations, tactics, its hundreds, thousands, millions of creatures with nothing to hinder them. Some would say is pretty childish but then again its all fiction and should be enjoyed as such. The idea is novice and can be produced cheaply...there are dozens of B rated zombie movies, the real story behind what these movies show are. The instincts of humanity trying to survive, the individual strife someone goes through when their entire world literally crashes all around them, little by little. Also you see the drama created between people trying to live, how conflicts, betrayal and compassion manifests themselves. Anyways, I suggest giving it another try...at worse you'll change the channel, at best you'll learn to appreciate a entirely new genre of movie.

What do you think is the most innovative VF design?
Zor Primus replied to Xx-SKULL-ONE-xX's topic in Movies and TV Series
QFE! Mine went to the VF-9 Cutlass...tight little fighter, mean looking Battroid Being one of the smallest Valks, it kinda reminds me of the A-wing, quick and deadly! -
I don't see the problem with the nudity at all. Its such a minuscule factor in the over all total of the movie that I barely notice it. Don't know why there is so much hoopla over it. As for the rest of the movie, I tend to agree that it was a crammed/altered version of the series. However I enjoyed it regardless and can say that "hate" would be too strong a word. The detail and attention they paid to the actual city was spectacular. Something we hadn't seen in the series. The one thing that did stand out as a little unnecessary was the free pub segways got, lol...it was cute when Ranka was using it for deliveries but then again when Alto and Sheryl were on a date and later when Alto was running off to a scramble...wth? I agree the ending was not as climatic as the series, but as soon as I saw the snow falling it immediately brought me back to the ending of the original series with the love triangle sharing final words. In other words this movie leads you to believe Alto and Ranka end up together. For the next movie I would prefer an original story without a single nod to the series.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0
Zor Primus replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Just finished my third viewing of Frontier and started at Keith's suggestion Gurren Lagann...saw a couple of episodes...lots of mecha + ecchi in the first 2 episodes...pretty fun if not for the change of pace in my recent anime viewing. -
At this stage of the game LLA re-dub as a side story to SC would show as about 300% less effort in the franchise as Joe Blow RT fan writing a fan fic. I'd be embarrassed for them if this is actually what is going to happen. I wonder how the average RT would react to this if it becomes reality. Personally I'd probably chuckle at the polarized opinions. But...if its about new artwork then drawing from LLA is what will happen. A comic based on LLA maybe? I'm sorry I just am finding it still difficult to believe/swallow/comprehend HG would go as far as presenting a 25 year old piece of anime as something new.
