Thanks for all the suggestions. The Customs Contest is the longest event we've had at con every year. We got some killer prizes so hopefully we'll get a lot of participation. In the end, we really just want people to bring anything cool that they have whether they made it or not. I'll be posting up rules for the events soon. If you haven't registered for the con yet, DO IT!!!!

Hehe.. if we all bring ours to the con... we better start painting them or or something or at least use different tape because they're all gonna look the same!!!

As the con is approaching and more details about the events are being revealed, this question has always been a topic of discussion. What do you guys think?

Very nice setup... its very organized and each shelf is goes well together... i appreciate the time he took to organize everything and set up each piece... its what i like to do sometimes with my limited collection.. haha... great display!!!

hehe... how did i miss EXO unveiling this until now??? Those complete pics with the painted valk and decals looks absolutely stunning!!! Thanks to everyone that made this possible as it is an incredible feat to have created the TH from scratch. And not only just build it, but to engineer it as a TOY and not a model kit is sheer awesomeness... Looking at the pics, the amount of individual pieces to make this is outstanding. Every little detail from the missiles to the moving joints just takes my breath away... Eat your heart out MW!!! haha... Oh! and as EXO mentioned... this will definitely be a centerpiece at MacrossWorld Con on display so if you haven't registered already... hurry up before the early bird registration ends!!! It would definitely be unfair to have this entered in the customs contest, so this will be more of an exhibition piece than a custom entry so please keep making those customs to bring the con. And the best part is.... there's still more stuff that will be at this year's con that we haven't revealed yet.... hehe

i like the new alternate ending a lot.... better references to the original story.... although the final part where they were driving off into the sunset all peacefully kinda sucked..... still could have used a better tie off than that..

short answer would be lots of licensing issues... =] i'm kinda tempted to do one of these too....

hahahaha.... this is exactly how i pictured they would package this set... i hope they just put those 2 boxes together like that for a quick photo shoot and that it won't be attached together like that... this is just plain tacky to even sell the set together like this in that packaging.....

Albeit sad... this is quite true... i've heard that after last year's 25th anniversary concert she wanted to cut all ties with Macross as she's done everything she can for it... aren't like 75% of her fans Macross fans though??? i don't understand the logic much....

hmm.... the largest size paper you can print on without having to use a large digital printer is 12in x 18in i think so it may look a bit akward having the pieces cut and put together on a box.... i'd print it out on 12 x 18 glossy card stock, cut it out to the right size and use spray adhesive to attach it to a box... my ghetto and cheap plan... probably cost less than $5 to print all the paper.. haha

If you can't wait till then... those Macross Pencil sharpener figures might work.... lots of VF-1s in all 3 configurations..... some enemy mecha and destroids... and even the SDF-1

Destroid looks good! hope that the price stays low since it's not variable
