  1. good luck putting this together and organizing it... =] the biggest challenge you need to tackle is finding a suitable location and booking a date... number 1 priority before planning anything else that happens at the event... this will let you know what resources you have at your disposal to plan your actual schedule of events... This will also let you know right away if you'll need to charge for the con. We've been fortunate enough to find places with little or no costs and basically registration costs were only covering food and supplies... After that... it's all fun and games deciding the program and what you guys want to do... I think we had something for everyone at our con and i hope everyone enjoyed themselves... let me know if you have any specific questions
  2. its going to be on the bottom left... all the new 2nd run shirts are like that... that's how it was supposed to be originally on the 1st shirt i think so it was correct on the 2nd run.... =]
  3. yea... i'm meh about the figure... especially if its going to cost more... =P
  4. yea... i just washed my shirt at the TH is already faded and stuff a lot too.... looks like a vintage shirt now...hha...bastids...
  5. yay pictures and an official report!!! thank you for attending the con and i'm glad you had a good time.... yay my plushie is featured!!! haha... sponsors played a big role this year in making the con successful so thank you again sponsors. =] and thank you for covering the show! We'll see you next year.
  6. hehe... that's not a GBP like someone mentioned... its the THUNDER HAMMER!!!! awesomess thing evar..... =] and its a hand built custom...
  7. Destroid Shelf and 25th anniversary valks DYRL Valks close up of TH!! hehe.... and lastly my new custom plushie!!! holding onto the mikimoto sketch that i was the keeper for 2 weeks... =]
  8. And here's my detolf displays 2 at a time... Macross plus 1/60 valks and Macross Zero 1/60 VF-0s Macross zero SV-51's Thunder Hammer and Ryuji Moon Minmay and GBP Collection Max, Miriya, Roy Supers and Angel, Stealth, and LV 2
  9. FINALLY completed my 1/48 collection..... (don't need a weathered VF-1S or the new limited crap!! hehe.. ) here's my new Macross display set up in my 3 detolfs... I took out all my old 1/60's and toynami crap that i had in there before and still filled up every shelf... Me thinks i may need another detolf when i move into a new place.... Even the top part is full of stuff too... and to think i sold a bunch of my other small Macross/Robotech stuff already... Minmei collection I bought a bunch of those clear plastic display cases at Comic Con.... just so i could have a better display...hehehe... here's all my toynami 1/100's and Revoltechs Here's my Robotech/Mospeada collection!!! CM's tread/legioss and Megahouse ride armors....
  10. didn't see these nice quality pics of your customs.... NICE job steve... are all of your customs in the customs gallery yet???
  11. i wonder if they have plans to release a TV max and kakizaki... since they had some in the display diorama..... the CF GBP actually doesn't look too bad... as for the workers... there were 2 people sitting at the booth.... george sohn was off somewhere.... i know one of the guys actually works for Toynami as a publicist or something.... and then there was some other white dude... i asked both of the publicist guy and the white dude and that's all they could muster up to answer.... oh well.... in other funny news at Comic Con.... for those of you who dislike Treasure Island (Tisinc).... i witnessed them making a really stupid purchase and wasting monies... This one booth next to them was having an auction for all their statues and busts.... but before that, EVERYTHING was half price... even statues... there was the Final Fantasy statues worth $250 and $190 and no one bought them when they were half price... but during the auction... Tisinc bid $175 and $130 for them.... haha... stupid jerks stood me up at MW con when they already promised to come... i'm glad they didn't come though... =]
  12. GBP armor up close with different parts.... these 1/100 sets look 100% BETTER with the fast packs and armor.... actually look pretty decent in the displays like that... pretty stoked about the regult too... Only thing i hate is Toynami's bitchy attitude about everything.... if you're sitting at the frakking toynami booth... at least have the courtesy to answer some questions about your products... I asked the guy at the booth.... "So what's the estimated release date for the new Macross 1/100 stuff and Betas??" reply from stupid dude... "Go look at the cards in the display" i say... "Well.... all of them say 'Coming Soon'" really stupid dude answer: "oh... probably sometime next year.... " WTF!!! those guys are all jerks... sigh.... as excited as i was to see the displays... i smell lots and lots of vaporware...
  13. this thread doesn't have any of its own pics besides the linky on the 1st page... i thought i'd share some of the pics i took on sunday.. did anyone mention or see the pretty neat displays they had?? INCLUDING a cannon fodder GBP set and a Max TV VF-1A..... i thought the max diorama blowing up the regult is pretty cool too....
  14. haha.... jeebus.... i thought Save wasn't taking orders for this and he already has a bunch of requests... Thanks for taking the time to post up all this info!! as far as i'm concerned.... these 1/48 valks don't exist to me.. (haha... that way I'll feel like i have a complete 1/48 collection)
  15. man that's a lot of cool stuff i'm tempted to get now.... i just want the armors to finally come out for the 1/100 series... the new GBP looks kinda cool and so does the regult.... i like the Alpha Beta link up MUCH better than the cms version sad part about all the cool new products they're showing is that we all know the quality is gonna suck ass and be all floppy... we can only hope when they import the new 1/55's and beagle products that Toynami JUST distributes and has nothing to do with manufacturing them...haha...
  16. KiriK

    my first 1/48!!!!

Welcome to the end of your phat wallet...coz now you're gonna want the rest of the 1/48 line...haha.... i thought i was only gonna get 1 when i first started...but man... i ended up getting them all.... sigh... congrats! love the gbp...
  17. Since more people are checking out the picture thread than the info thread... i wanted to make sure everyone saw my official thank yous to everyone who helped with the con this year... keep posting more pics!!
  18. I don't think i ever did my official recap post since Bigkid and Exo already took the initiative to to thank everyone who was involved with putting together this con. Good Job guys! I appreciate everyone's thank yous to me, but i truly don't deserve most of the credit. There were a LOT of people involved in making this con successful and it wouldn't have been so great without all of the fans that attended. I was overwhelmed by the amount of attendees that showed up for the con! I guess our flyers worked at AX and Frank and Sons. I posted some credits for the con in my on youtube but i should really post it here as well. Save - Huge thanks for always supporting MacrossWorld whether it be hooking up the con with great prizes or even just helping a member get something from Japan. You are constantly putting other members before yourself and you truly deserve the most credit for making this con and this forum a great success. You're the epitomy of the ideal MW member, always trying to help out his fellow mates. Thanks for being such an awesome stand out guy!! Bigkid24 - Much credit needs to go to Bigkid for being my consultant on EVERYTHING that had to do with the con. In fact, he gave himself the title of Assistant MacrossWorld Con Coordinator and the title sure does fit. George listened to all of my ideas for the con and gave great feedback on everything, (Except for the Macross Trivia which was indeed EPIC FAIL... haha) He even helped edit the Sponsor letter i sent out which got us so many great sponsors this year. On top of that, he organzied the failed Trivia Contest, but it was fun.. right? He helped me organize the Mikimoto Drawing. He volunteered before and after the con to set up. And he even helped out during the con to run registration and set up the customs contest. Bigkid deserves a lot of praise for his contribution to MacrossWorld and the con. >EXO< - Alex is one of the biggest Macross fans i know and is sort of well respected on the boards...haha... Yet he has done a LOT for MacrossWorld and this year's con. He stepped up to make an awesome flyer design which we distributed more than 500 flyers at Frank and Sons and Anime Expo. He gave a lot of input on how to run the customs contest, poker tournament, and even started a panel discussion during the con to show off NMB4M's 2-Seater 1/48's. He has been active every year in MW Con, collecting prize donations from all around the world, and was also able to connect with Save this year to get us the most donations we've ever received. Besides tearing up winning tickets and beating a lot of people in poker, EXO also deserves a lot of credit for doing the behind the scenes work to make the con great. MW Con 2008 Sponsors - This has been the most successful year due in part to the generous donations of our sponsors. Thank you for your support of MacrossWorld and Macross fans! He's been involved with sponsoring MW Con since it 1st started and he's always been a great asset to MW. Thank you for donating the Urban Camo GBP as a Customs Contest prize (hehe...which i won by the way... legitimately) Kevin is known to go out of his way to please all of his customers. You are much appreciated by all of us!! Thanks for everything you've done for MW and the cons! JasonKimberson aka SonRiku - Ricky took a lot of time helping set up the Street Fighter Alpha Tournament and helped me throughout the day setting up and taking down stuff. You're one of the most generous people that i know and i really appreciate all the help you've given and your support of everyone on AP that need those toy goodies. You're awesome dude... Solscud007 - It's been a big task to take over the con after you've been hosting it for so long, but with your help, its gotten bigger and better each year. The amazing MW Con T-Shirt were designed and made by Nick. He has amazing photography skills and makes everything look good... (except pictures of Bobe-Patt..haha... ) Nick probably ranks up there with the geekiest Macross nerds there are... plus he has an uncanny ability to find the best deals and is the biggest opportunist EVER!! haha... bastid... thanks for falling asleep everywhere and helping out with the con. NightmareB4Macross - Thanks for donating such a wonderful cake to the con!! It was literrally the icing on the cake that made this con so spectacular and memorable. Plus your cool Custom work was nice too... Thanks for hosting the panel to share all your hard work you've done with your 1/48 2 seaters... It's great to see new customs that everyone is dying to have. Booby Trap - JasonC, RazorX, and the rest of the band.....You guys are super awesome and also deserve credit for making this con amazing! Live music to entertain a crowd of hardcore Macross Fans... Mari who??? haha... You guys rocked the house and really added a lot of flavor to this year's Con. Thanks again for hauling it out and setting up your jaw dropping collection of rare macross goodies!! We'll do it again next year!! haha.... I hope you sold a lot of stuff... (and saved all the good stuff for me later... haha.. ) Customs Contest Participants - This contest is what makes MW Con special because we get to see exclusive new Macross customs each year!! I'm hoping we can make this event bigger each year, but thank you to Rohby, EXO, NMB4M, Solscud007, Orguss01 (and me too..haha... ) for putting in all the effort to create beautiful new customs to show off at the con. Keep up the good work and finish your customs earlier next year so you guys can be on time!!! Bobe-Patt and Eternal D - Thanks for helping to set up for the con and take stuff down... 20. Public enemy #2!!!! haha... bigkid is #1 after winning the MW poker tourney twice in a row...
  21. thanks for the all the comments! I wish i could share the patterns with you, but i didn't make any as it was all just scratch built... BUT i do have a much better idea of putting it together so i could technically put something together if anyone ever wanted to do it... And i have a lot of material leftover, so i'm thinking of making a 2.0 version for next year's con COMPLETE with fastpacks too... maybe i'll try a different valk altogether like the YF-19 or something... haha.... Here's a pic of my inspiration for doing this...the original vf-1s plush valk and mine! at the con. Pics taken by MisterRyno
