Great set up and display! Hope we can get some other collectors to bring out their stuff for display this year for our con. I usually just bring my stuff.. haha

Also! Don't forget to sign up for our 1st ever Macross Karaoke Contest! This is a brand new event that we're hoping to have a LOT of participation in. The contest will be held on Saturday, July 18th at 6pm during MW Con. This event is sponsored by www.Otaku2.com and www.over-drive-inc.com I will post up a list of Macross Songs that you can chose to perform and you can sign up for the contest the day of the con. We will have all the Macross Karaoke tracks available for you to chose from, and all you have to do is pick one and perform it on Saturday night! We'll have a practice session Saturday afternoon before the actual event if you want to practice your act, so get your act together and get ready to rock out Macross Karaoke style! 1st place price will be a package of Macross goodies, including a 25th Anniversary Macross Poster, a set of Macross Frontier Gashapons, and more! 2nd and 3rd place prizes TBD based on number of entries.

Is anyone still interested in signing up for this year's MW Con Poker Tournament? All prizes TBD based on number of entries. Due to scheduling thing year, we are hosting the MW Con poker tournament separate from the actual con and will be held either Friday, July 17th, or Saturday night, July 18th after the con at a different location.

This is our oldest, longest contest at the con where attendees can bring new customs to MW Con and enter them for a chance to win prizes. Hi there, I wont' have quite the same PA system as it's a smaller version and only has 1 mic, but should be loud enough still. It's a Fender P150 plus if you want to check out the specs on it

Actually, the event is going to be at ViewPoint Lounge in Ackerman, not AGB... it's a smaller room but i'm sure it'll fit everyone who's planning on attending the con. Putting together a list of events for both days! That's a tentative list of events for both days this year. REMEMBER! We are not allowed to sell anything AT the convention, so for those of you planning on bringing stuff to sell, you will not be able to exchange money for items at the event. However, if you were off site or off campus somewhere making an exchange, i could care less as long as it doesn't happen at the con. There will however, be donations for opportunity drawings and I'm going to announce a special pre-order for a MW Con exclusive that's rarely ever sold in person! Check the for sale thread soon!

Great advice! I know i've gotten my fair share of parking tickets at UCLA when i went there. Dirty parking enforcement bastids! I was planning on posting a map soon of UCLA and where the potential places are to park for free and where you can pay for parking lots

Unfortunately not directly, since UCLA has a "no selling" policy for on campus events. And actually, we've never had a lot of items for sale at Cons besides some people bringing their own stuff to sell, so we'll try to work out something.

That is a fantastic display cabinet MaveRick! Custom built display cases always look the best but i'm sure the materials were expensive. I tried designing a custom display cabinet too, but after doing research on pure cost of materials, it already cost over $400 so i dropped the project and just converted my existing detolf cabinets. i'm a big stickler for displaying toys in a manner that makes sense too and i love the idea of having the acrylic display stands. And of course you displayed most of your valks like i would display mine, in fighter mode!! woot woot love the whole set up!

Of course there will be cake!!! I'm pleased to announce that NightmareB4Macross will be providing another Macross Cake masterpiece for this year's con!

Except that the reason why my display is so awesome is because it's dirt cheap and costs WAY less than those custom glass cabinets. I was looking into getting some and like you said they were $600-$700 bucks per cabinet whereas each Detolf only cost $60 bucks. My entire display room cost $650 (8 detolfs x $60 = $480 + $170 brackets and mending plates = $650) hehe... no way i'm spending over $500 on display cases anymore

I actually just cut along the slot on the base where the glass side was supposed to go. Just shaved it as close to the edge as possible and sanded down anything that wasn't straight. You probably could shave it down a bit more, but then it would weaken the hole where the frame goes through the board
