  1. ahh i see. That's strange though, since you didn't modify that side of the detolf at all where the side and back glass panels meet so it should fit normally. Well, as long as it's stable and in the end, i would highly suggest bolting it to a wall like i did so it stays sturdy and doesn't move any of the pieces inside. Good luck with finishing it and post pictures when you're done! I'm excited someone else did this too... =] As for my display cases, i've rearranged some things, but i've come to the conclusion that i have too much crap and can't display everything as nicely as i would have hoped. I can only blame myself for continuing to buy more Macross stuff though... haha Here's a recently rearranged Macross Plus shelf plus Gamlin's VF-22s
  2. so how doesn't the plastic piece fit in the back then? I'm trying to see what the problem is, because it should assemble just like a regular detolf except for the side your removed.
  3. Nice case! I wish when i first bought my detolfs, i got the black ones, but i kept the same color for the rest of my cases. As for the plastic side pieces, i was still able to use them in the back 2 corners since i only cut off the edge along the groove. Are the back glass pieces overlapping the board so you can't fit the plastic piece? Can you take a picture of the of the case and the corner? I suppose you can do without the plastic pieces, but it sure won't be as stable. I would try to modify the plastic pieces if you can't get them to fit. If you cut the board too short, the only other thing i would suggest is loosening the mending plates holding the boards together and leaving a gap so you can make up for the short boards. Then the back glass piece should have enough space to fit with the plastic.
  4. now the only question i have is, where i'm gonna put this thing in my toy room?? guess i need to make a custom display in the center of the room!
  5. other things to point out are that the fastpacks on the VT-1 v2 are a lot better and the leg armor has removable panels to show interior detail. But i agree that having the v1 in fighter mode isn't a bad way to go. I have my V1 displayed in fighter and the v2 VT-1 in Battroid and they look great displayed together.
  6. still waiting to see the final protos of a completed phalanx, i had to substitute the matchbox version in my display case along with the yamato defender and tomahawk, so can't wait to get this one!
  7. I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but i didn't want to search 23 pages to find the answer. What's the official scale of the DX quarter? The painted up figures look outstanding! can't wait to get this one! just don't really know where i'm gonna put it or where it's gonna fit in my display
  8. nice stand! is there a way you can still display it with a gunpod attached?
  9. i loved suikoden I but never had time to play any of the rest of the series. I remember getting obsessed with getting all 108 playable characters, but who really plays them all?
  10. Great pics Vic! thanks for those, and i agree that with the helmet on, he REALLY does look like kicker from transformers Energon... haha...never thought about it until someone said it:
  11. Logos, that pic looks like a cubicle at work. haha... do you have all your expensive Macross toys lying around int he office? I wouldn't trust mine around the office, especially that high on the shelf, looks scary if they were to fall
  12. Sorry to repost a pic, but what kit is this that has removable arm and leg armor for the VF-2ss? i only know of the Bandai kit 1/100 kit. As for all the varied opinions in this poll, i really dont think there is an ugly bird in the bunch. I love fighter modes for most my valks and all of these appeal to me. Battroid for some of these however look kinda funky, and the best looking battroid of the bunch that keeps it simple is the VF-2ss. A lot of the new designs have kibble and junky edges, but the clean design of the VF-2ss battroid is reminiscent of the simple vf-1 design.
  13. glad i didn't watch Mac 7 so i don't care too much for these valks.. hehe... but i did buy the VF-22 since i liked the color scheme
  14. haha.... i was on the fence between the VF-4 and VF-2ss as well, but all the pics of people posting the VF-2ss definitely show it's sleekness and great design. Although i think it'll be difficult to do a perfect transformation version of it. The legs are so spread apart in fighter mode, that they'd have to make a collapsible swing bar or something to make it look right in battroid. The SAP is still my favorite fastpack accessory for any valk
  15. haha... you guys are too funny.... I liked the gold visor
  16. whoa, i was checking out the rest of the pictures from that Zombie Sheryl Link and they have some other decent figs. The Ranka doll version looks decent, but man.. what a Klan klan figure!!
  17. Patrick Swayze isn't dead. He's just getting ready to make the sequel to 'Ghost" ... haha.... too soon for jokes?
  18. Just opened up my Rand MPC cyclone yesterday. I hadn't really seen the difference in the head sculpts from the toynami vs beagle version until just now. yeeesh, Rand looks like a super tanned Ken doll with really defined features ruffled hair. Didn't mind the Toynami Scott version compared to the beagle, but i definitely think the Ley head is better than the Rand head. Permanent cyclone helmet for you Rand!!
  19. I'm glad you finally got it! thanks for submitting your great work and congrats again. =]
  20. I think it was the awkward timing of some of the music in the wrong places. It really makes a huge difference when you're watching an action sequence or something bad happens, and there's funky happy 80's anime music that plays at the same level the whole time. I don't remember the narrator being that bad but i liked the self monologue's that told what the characters were thinking instead of leaving you wondering what's going on in their mind.
  21. I got the original Mospeada DVD set a week or two ago and got around to watching a few episodes couple of nights ago. Man the original show is really BORING to watch! Maybe it was just me being biased for seeing the Robotech version 1st, but the music seemed off during the fight scenes, the dialogue is slow and there's no narrator in between scenes. I was trudging through the first 3 episodes before i fell asleep on the couch. Maybe this is old news, but i was looking forward to seeing the original Mospeada, but I think i maybe have to quit and go buy Robotech New Generation DVD's
  22. ahhh.. right right, well i guess i like my box art to show off the actual toy in action, so i guess i still prefer the DX version. See what you get instead of showing original artwork in action. =]
  23. well one is the 1/60 DX version and the other is the 1/72 model kit... since i can't build stuff, haha... 1/60 DX for me
  24. I think this is the custom MG Thunder Hammer that EXO was talking about previously. This was at this year's MW Con
  25. NOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOO!!!!! haha... another frickin weathering exclusive... oy....
