haha.. i thought it was the least obstructive way to attach the chest plate... but i just realized something... i did the whole photo shoot without her leg armor on!!! i thought it looked kinda bare... haha.. here's a last complete pic of the finished product on my display shelf i found some really cheap figures at AX so i'm going to try my hand at kitbashing some more valk girls. They had a revy VF-19 for only $10 and another fraulein, so i'm gonna try to make a VF-19 girl... but check out this mock up teaser for my next project: Destroid Tomahawk Girl featuring Cammy!!

The return of the Valk girl thread! So i was at AX yesterday and found a fraulein Rei for $10 and i had acquired a loose VF-1 Revy awhile back so i figured i'd hijack Miriya's frankenstein Rei valk girl and do a "Last Stand" Roy Fockker version with battle damage!!! Took me about 2 hours to play around with figuring out how to put her together. Had to shave down a lot of parts and drill some extra holes here and there, but i'm very happy with how she turned out. I even made a remove-able chest plate armor! haha... check out her bare chest to see how i attached it... haha.... hope you like! sorry i didn't resize the large pic attachments so here a few more posted from photobucket: Back side Chest Armor Removed

so me and Jasonc went around AX passing out flyers for MW Con 10 at the May'N and Megumi concert. Hopefully we can get some of the awesome cosplayers to show up!

i had a blast at the concert and even met a couple of old time lurkers on the boards (wherever you are)... haha... I was busy trying to catch all the Mac F cosplayers in the audience to give them flyers for MW Con 10 in October.... i hope we can get some of those awesome cosplayers to show up and maybe do some fun karaoke! oh, and the concert was pretty good too. May'n has an EXCELLENT singing voice and has a lot of control and vocal range. She's very polished as a singer and performer and they had the mixing spot on as she sounded just like her records. Megumi was okay, but her vocal quality really doesn't compare to May'n. Megumi kinda sounds just like an early decent contestant on American Idol, where May'n would be the winner with the best stylized vocals and original sound. the yoko Kanno thing was cool (although i admit, i wasn't a fan enough to know who she was at the time... haha.. i was like... who is this random chick?) I had a good time and even tried to sneak a recording of the concert on my phone, BUT i failed and it didn't actually record when i thought it was... whooops... sorry for those that missed it! it was pretty epic and awesome to see my 1st, and probably last, JPOP concert. =]

AWESOME!!! as always.... this makes me want a kurt custom MG.... =]

Mac F music is actually pretty good and catchy... i posted a link a few posts back to a live concert of MayN and Megumi and Mayn is a great singer... I've never really been too much of a fan of Macross music since i'm more a mecha guy, but Mac F songs are pretty dayam good IMO... that's why i actually am pretty excited to see this girls live in the US... won't get that opportunity for awhile

so i caved in and bought a 1 day pass on Friday to go to the May n and Megumi Concert. =] Figured i'd probably never get to see them otherwise. So where do we pick up the tickets then?

just got this new megahouse Ranka figure and i gotta say it's pretty awesome! I'm loving these Megahouse figs as the sculpt and detail are great on each character. PLUS i love the design with all the different configurations you can have. This is my 2nd fav figure behind the Sheryl 'dont be late' fig that is also fantastic. i should take my own pics, but here's the stock one below to remind you of how good the figure is. Strangely though, it's smaller than the Nyan Nyan megahouse figure which i thought is the same scale

Pat, this is probably the most fantastic build/custom of anything i've ever seen on MacrossWorld. The detail level is AMAZING and i love all the extras you put onto it. My favorite is the Macross city with the screen shot of Minmay in the background. It's just an incredible amount of work you've done and i'm happy you posted so many pics in all the different modes. Kudos and congrats for such a fantastic build! I think this needs to get front page on MacrossWorld. Or all the 1/2000 builds! This is just an amazing kit and those lucky enough to have one and have the skills to do it justice, i tip my hat to you. =] now bring it to MW Con and be worshipped like a GOD!!! haha =P

She'll be working on making a list of volunteer needs and scheduling volunteers throughout the event. May N and Megumi in Concert - Mac F Medley I found this cool clip of May N and Megumi singing a 10 minute Macross Frontier medley. If i can't make it to the AX concert, i'm happy i at least saw this video to see a live performance of some of these songs.

haha... that's an interesting idea. I have several CF's i can bring, but i don't know which number i'd be. My jersey number when i play basketball is 12, but isn't that already someone's number on the show?

i never had a clear idea of just how big this beast is, but having it larger than most lawn ornaments sitting on your patio table just makes me sadder that I'll probably never have one of these. Jaw dropping really and probably the most impressive custom build and paint job of this model/toy. AMAZING STUFF! now whoever ordered this up from Kurt, how can we get this to MW Con and share this awesome custom with everyone? =P

After my plea, i did get some more offers to help so I think we're definitely in good shape. Where is everyone that said they would be willing to pitch in to help for this year's con to make it happen? I've had only 1 person contact me to join the planning committee and I'm getting worried that we won't get enough help.

So I've been doing some initial planning with our hosts, JAC at UCLA, as well as some of they other members that are helping out. I want to create a planning committee of staff to run this year's convention with everyone having specific roles. MW Con Staff members will help plan and coordinate various aspects of MW Con 10. In addition, we will also have volunteer positions for people who are interested in volunteering during the con, but not in the initial planning. Here is the complete list of MW Con Staff Roles and Volunteer Positions. Some of them have already been filled, but most are vacant and I will be looking for MW members and JAC members to fill these roles. MacrossWorld Convention 2010 Staff Positions MW Con Director(Kirik) – Responsible for communication with JAC at UCLA, managing facilities, getting sponsors, overall management of convention Operations Director (Bigkid24) – Responsible for programming and scheduling of events, as well as managing Pre-Registration, Volunteer Coordinator, and Exhibition Displays, and A/V needs Media Director(>EXO<) – Responsible for graphic design of printed materials, t-shirts, as well as overseeing Promotional Coordinator and Media Team (Video, photo, A/V) JAC at UCLA Presidents – Phillipp and Melissa will also be included on staff team and will assist with facilities and liaise with MW Con Director and club members. Also promote MW Con 10 on campus at UCLA Volunteer Coordinator (Vacant) – Recruits volunteers to staff Registration table and Security Teams for exhibition displays.
