i voted no because i'd like to see other stuff being made first before a re-visit of the 1/60 yf-19

Yea, i'm not too happy about the price either. I definitely think if these were toys, even $200 would be too much for me to pay when i see what comes with the kit. For me, this is comparable to how much the 1/60 Destroids should cost and have similar features. Destroids were highly detailed non transformable toys for around $80-90. I know the market isn't as huge for regults, but i don't see it have as much or more detail than the Destroids did.

Thanks for the comments guys! when i made this, i basically built it from scratch and didn't bother making patterns as i went along since i was creating it on the spot. When i make my next one with improvements, i'll try to make patterns in case anyone else wants to build one. =] Although for my next one, i don't think i'm going to make it as big as this one. Probably 1/3 smaller in scale.

ooooo.... fighter mode looks pretty good, but i still see a lot of gaps all around the valk. I hope it's tight and fits together well as i can see that being an issue with this valk

If i had finished watching M7, i may have been more excited about this. However, after finally seeing the proto pics, i'm kind of interested now. Although i can't help but think his head looks too much like a gundam

So i don't know why i've been on this kitbashing/custom spree lately but i guess i've been bored with my toys so that's why i'm working on all this stuff.... Last night i revisited my custom VF-1J plushie which i never got to finish the backpack for. Anyways, 2 years later and finally some extra time on my hands i've completed my Super Happy VF-1J Plushie with a backpack AND moveable wings! It took me awhile to figure out how to attach everything, but using good all fashion brads, i was able to make the wings poseable as well. Hope you enjoy! Old unfinished Plushie Finished completed backpack plushie!! Open Wings Front side with open wings Finishing this really has inspired me to work on a Version 2 of the plushie which i should finish in time for the con this year - VF-1S Plushie w/ Fastpacks!

Thanks Miriya! I gave her options to display so depending on the mood, i can take it off or leave it on. haha, i love accessories i can add to these customs. So i went back to my work bench yesterday and i had an extra Fraulein Amami Haruka and a VF-11 GNU. so VF-11 Valk girl! This was a bit more challenging putting this one together since the figs are from different lines. I was able to modify the GNU to fit the Revy torso with friction fit, but i had to shave down the neck piece area to get her head on. But the hands actually swapped out perfectly and the legs on the GNU came apart easily so i could stick a revy joint inside. Anyways, i just realized that i've turned almost all the Fraulein figures in that line into Valk girls and i just need to make an Asuka Valk girl and i'll have a complete set! Help a brother out if anyone has an extra loose Fraulein Asuka and sell it to me! haha, here are the pics + = Introducing Amami Haruka as VF-11 Valk Girl! Open arms Back side And here's the group shot of all the Fraulein Valk girls that i've made so far!!! What i love about these figures is that i've made them VERY durable and playable so they are pretty fun to pose. =] i only need 1 more to complete the collection!

Thanks Ron, I'll definitely have a Valk Girl display at the con this year. So if i made a VF-19 valk girl, i had to complete the set with a VF-21 valk girl... so here she is!!! I used Fraulein figure Tohsaka Rin and revy VF-21. had a little trouble figuring out how to attach the torso, and figure the best way was to attach it behind the cockpit to make her look proportional. Had a hell of a time getting her head attached because she has long hair so i had to shave off some and make a new hole for the peg. Overall, i'm very satisfied with how she turned out! very durable and playable too, just like Pocco! Anyways, here are the pics! + = Without cockpit armor on Backside And last shot together! Pocco VF-19 and Tohsaka VF-21 girls

haha... i don't know if i'd consider taking apart a 1/48 to make a valk girl. Plus from all the ones i've made, it requires modding both the valk and the girl figure, so tread carefully if you really want to permanently make her into a valk girl.... But with a bigger figure like the 1/48, you might be able to dremel/drill out a lot of hollow parts to fit around her. I just don't have the heart to destroy a $100 plus toy...hehe... that's why all my valk girls are from cheapy revys that are on sale! BTW, got another valk girl coming up real soon... hehe... just finished her! pics coming soon

Thanks! Don't know if i can attach the crotch piece from the 19. That part on the Revoltech 19 is a solid chunk and i'm not sure how it'd look to just attach the front crotch piece without anything else. I may play around with it when i get home though. Next project, Revoltech VF-1J valk girl, but don't have a good figure to go with it yet oh, and if you're curious about the Pocco fig, here's the original version along with the original VF-19 Revy:

So i bought some cheap figures from AX including a Fraulein Pocco and VF-19. For the longest time i couldn't figure out how i would mash these 2 together, but i was playing around with the figures and saw the torso of the VF-19 fit perfectly on the lower body of Pocco so i had a new Valk girl combination!! I did some minor customization carving out a hole for a revoltech peg to attach the bottom portion of the legs, but most everything else is just plain swapping of parts. i did attach Pocco's wings to the back of the VF-19 to keep more of her original style, but overall i'm pretty happy with her! She's actually a lot more sturdy, durable, and poseable than my Rei Valk girl. There's even a r-rated version of her too without her skirt belt... haha.. check it out Pocco VF-19 Valk Girl Skirtless and i did this photo shoot late last night, but right when i was about to go to bed, i thought of another improvement. I should give her a neck to make it look more natural! I used some of the leftover arms i had cut off from my destroid Cammy to make a neck for Pocco. I was too lazy to do a whole nother photo shoot so here's the extra mod i made below. I think it looks a lot more natural now. =]

UPDATE 7/16/2010 BREAKING NEWS!!!! I've just confirmed that this year we will be having Mari Iijima, (voice of Lynn Minmay) perform and sign autographs at this year's MW Con 2010! If you aren't already planning on coming to MW Con 10, you should now as you'll get to hear Mari LIVE in concert as well as get her autograph at the con! -
Thanks Dangaioh, and nice artwork BTW! you should try making a custom fig of your drawing. =]

haha, I actually have enough extra parts to make a figure version of this Phalanx Girl... i'm kinda tempted to try something, or maybe something more original. I do have an extra Defender that i'm trying to figure out what to do with. Do you have a defender destroid girl yet Poli??
-
i know it's not custom art work, but it's a kitbash i put together based on the destroid tomahawk VF girls I've seen... check out the final product! Destroid Cammy! shoulder missile hatches closed Should missile hatches opened side view back view close up of shoulder missile attachment

so i took everyone's comments and thought i'd take a crack at revising my original vision of this figure. I actually did some decent custom work on the new version! here are the changes i made: -Shaved off destroid arms to attach to Cammy's elbows to make it look more natural elbow joint/cannon -Attached backplate at higher location -Custom attached shoulder missiles and custom attached missile hatches on individual hinges -Shaved down crotch piece to sit lower the 1st version was actually all friction fit and used peg and holes i made using paper clips to hold everything together. This time, i had to glue the arms in place for more support as well as gluing the custom shoulder missiles to the backplate. So hopefully everyone likes this version better! haha... i don't think i can much else as i've pretty much used every part of the original tomahawk almost. new pics: shoulder missile hatches closed Should missile hatches opened side view back view close up of shoulder missile attachment

I've been looking for this picture for reference all over the site!!! i couldn't find it in the search function... stupid search... thanks!! i'll see if i can revise her
-
thanks for the comments guys... haha... i wanted to make the arms look like she was holding the cannons instead of making it her arm. It was kinda hard to decide how to connect them, but i may rethink it and try to attach it differently. Don't think i can add shoulder pieces and still make it look right... If i make any updates, i'll post up new pictures

So we've seen the VF girl kitbash with various figs, but here's something new! The Destroid Girl kitbash starting with Tomahawk Cammy! I used a cheap Cammy figure that i got from AX and an old matchbox tomahawk and just started putting pieces together. Took me total about 2 hours to take everything apart, figure out how to attach the pieces, drill some new holes and dremel out some pieces. Overall i think she turned out pretty decent for a 1st attempt at this! I love kitbashing valk girls and now destroid girls! haha... the only sad thing i think about when i'm cutting up pieces is Toy Story and how i'm cannibalizing these figs into new ones... haha... i'm sure they don't mind the upgrade =] Here are the pics! Front shot Side Shot Back Shot Straight front shot Also made an option friction fit crotch armor, but i think i like it better without Destroid Family!!!

i found a fraulein Pocco No. 4 for $10 and Fraulein Amami Haruka for $5. I have some extra revoltech joints if that's what you're looking for. Have a few leftover parts from rei and will have some from these 2 as well. Now if i could track down a cheap Asuka Fraulein, i could make a matching pair of valk girls with the extra vf-1J revy i have... maybe i'll post in the wanted section
