Super Dub Fortress Macross on Hulu
YajimaTakashi replied to Funkenstein's topic in Movies and TV Series
I liked the dub with the exception of some of the character voices and the Zentran not having their echo. Misa was ok, Roy, Claudia, Millia and Minmay of course were my favorites (especially with Mari voicing her again) Hikaru thought could have been better. Not to impugn Vic's work, but I saw Kurz Weber more than I did Hikaru Ichijo. The sounds effects were meh but to me it was Macross, I still love watching both the dub and the original Japanese equally even though you cannot top Exedol's dance in Japanese -
I don't know if this has been added but someone did a pretty nice cover of Runner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXZ1GtEhzrA

She was seen in Macross 7 Encore: Fleet of the Strongest Women, during a flashback.

No worries man

You seem to be missing what I am saying. I agree it is the Macross, I am not saying otherwise. All I am saying based on theory and given the ship's history which has been stated and shown in canon. It just would not surprise me if they accidentially set off one more boobytrap. Until we see it on the next episode, we don't know why she's there.
-
Yes Macross was retrofitted into a UN ship, but she is still Supervision Army in Origin. Yes she has the ARMD's, but that isn't to say that there still might be something leftover from those times. I mean she fricking blew up part of an island and two Zentran ships when they entered the solar system, then when they tried to launch her, the antigravs were ripped out of the hull. And then there was the whole fold incident that took her and South Ataria to the other end of the Terran Solar System. Macross might still have some mysteries in that hull of hers. And I would not put that past Kawamori either
-
Given that she was a Boobytrap by the SA in case the Zentran came across her. Who is to say that regardless of all the retrofitting that was done to her over the course of time, that there wasn't still one thing that had not gone off on her. I mean you can have a New Macross, Nupiet Vergntz, Bodol or Megaroad Class crash land on that planet and no one would say nothing. But given it's the Macross itself, everyone finds it hard to believe that the ship would be there instead of sitting in Alaska in the center of a lake. The ship has always been the center of mystery in the Macross Universe, next to the Birdman, Atillia, Rux, and the fate of the Megaroad-01. Why is it hard for so many fans to believe that what they saw was the Macross.
-
My thought on why she might be there is this, and this goes back to her launch in 2009: Maybe there was still one more Boobytrap that no one knew about.
-
They just find it hard to believe that this could be the Macross. I mean the hints are there, Alto and Ranka's shock; Ai Oboete Imasu Ka playing as it goes into the credits, and then the fact that "Memory of Global" is the name of the next episode. I believe it is the Macross. All the hints are there, but the why will have to wait til Thursday.

Macross Frontier Episode 12 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*
YajimaTakashi replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
1) It's been said somewhere in between the events of Macross and DYRL is the truth. Which means the events of the series did happen, but looked more along the lines of the movie since Studio Nue/Big West have been using the designs of the movie whenever they flashback to events of the original series. With the exception of the Millia flightsuit and Valk in Macross 7. -
SDFM Inside Story: Macross Classic Radio Drama
YajimaTakashi replied to MilSpex's topic in Movies and TV Series
Macross Classic is based on the four episodes that were originally made for the original series. It is an official part of the Macross Timeline, and the last time we hear Arihiro Hase as Hikaru Ichijo before his death. Millard is in the story to show that he was a pilot back during the Reconstruction Era. One story deals with Hayase's B-day and I know another has to do with Max and Millia finding out she's pregnant. It's been a while since I listened to it. I also remember there was talk of Hikaru testing the VF-X4 in the drama. If I am remembering right -
This was one of my first posts in the Macross/RT groups back in '98. I am surpriseed it was still there : To Mister Ackermans, It took me a while to read your comment about one of my EM's to Peter Walker, and I am replying to you in response to your accusations: 1) I am a MACROSS Fan, been one since 1982! Peter Walker is not my 'God'. I go about confronting him on a different level, than your bullshit responses. 2) If Walker thinks he is a GOD on Robotech, that his and your opinion! Don't try to preach this and that. The Robotech fans are tired of it! And it gives the Macross fans a bad rep!!! 3) You make me sick!!! Honestly all you do is insult people. If you want others to respect your nappy ass, why don't you send decent E-Mails. Instead of Chastizing everyone who doesn't think like you . 4) SO what if Walker knows alot about Robotech, I know alot about the original Macross and its sequels, does that make me a God on the subject! No. I just found out alot by getting the information on my own. 5) If some people want to think of Peter Walker as a God, go ahead! I don't agree with that opinion, I don't worship him, and he may insult the Macross Otaku until monkeys fly out of his ass. But cussing him out, and saying poo to him, is not the way to go. You argue by peaceful means. Not by saying stupid poo!!!! I am tired of people like you giving the Macross fans a bad rep, and the pissing the Robotech fans off. If Walker wants to sit on a high and mighty Pedestal. That is fine and dandy with him. If he thinks Macross is Crap. Fine with me. He can say Hitler was a good man for all I care, but your BS. Just pisses me off. All you do is come back with small responses. Macross is Macross. And I like all the Macross series, and so on. Robotech is Robotech. And the American Public remembers Robotech. Let Walker think what he wants to. I won't lose sleep over it. Thomas Delgado. If I were Ichijo Hikaru... I would have chose Shammie :-P No in all seriousness I think Misa would still be the choice hands down

I would love to hear the piano version of the song. So far I have to say all the versions used in the original and Flashback are the best. Didn't like the version for Macross Generations.
