  1. I believe Bay was actually saying the leaked scripts are inaccurate rather than out and out false.
  2. From what we've seen the movie prequel comic, Megatron is more calculating and refined, like BW Megatron.
  3. Hugo Weaving has apparently been cast as Megatron.
  4. Hey Gerwalk, perhaps you should upload those pics onto your own picspace - not cool to directly like them off Joel's server Given the Matrix is supposed to light up whenever its seen, I'd say its almost an essential feature for a toy of this calibre.
  5. There was this really strange Takara TF commercial about the time Optimus Prime was killed off in the movie (though the movie was never screened in Japan until 1991 or so) where a bunch of (US military?) helicopters are carrying the damaged body of Prime, with dozens of americans below in what looks like New York chanting 'Convoy! Convoy! Convoy!', ending with one young kid yelling 'COOOONNNNNNNVVVVVOOOOOYYYYY!' Apparently it was to introduce Rodimus Prime taking over or something.
  6. Yeah, 6" Titaniums are really the only outlet for Hasbro to make figures and characters from storylines that probably can't support themselves as a full-fledged line. Energon Galvatron is great.
  7. They didn't say anything. They just said at Botcon that they were pleased and would like to do more Classics later on if possible. I'm just speculating that if they somehow actually do it, it would probably replace Universe or Alternators (which I don't think is coming back).
  8. Classics was only filler, the movie was originally to be released in November 2006, right after Cybertron. Since it was moved back to July, they needed product to fill the gap. That said, Hasbro is pleased with the positive feedback and are interested in continuing the line in some form. I suspect it will become a sideline to replace Alternators.
  9. Grimlock must not be happy with his feet of late. On his Alt he walked on his seats, now he walks on his mouth.
  10. The Takara versions appear to chip paint more easily than the Hasbro versions. For instance, I had two Hasbro 2004 20th Primes fall off a desk and hit hardwood floors with not a mark on his chests (the most vulnerable area), while my Takara-owning friends are bemoaning chips out of the box. Probably just luck. Unfortunately, Takara's 2006 releases (Hong Kong bot only reissue and MP-04 Perfect Convoy) chip MUCH more easily than previous versions.
  11. Probably because the F-15 in Classics is fairly inaccurate (it has an F-14 nose) on purpose, so it didn't matter how they handled the tail fins. The the way they rotate might look abit crap on MP SS. That or Kawamori was just interested in making an F-15 Valk, albiet one that doesn't need to conform to any sort of real-world engineering. Here's a photo of all the cars and trucks they used in the movie in front of an F-22 Raptor Edwards AFB.
  12. I got Ramjet today, and had the pleasure of having to bore out a pin hole for the long... stick that the cockpit is attached to, so that the pin could go through completely and allow the cockpit to sit flush against his back in bot mode. I stabbed myself under the nail while doing so. I bled for this toy!
  13. Classics is over, unless there's an exclusive or two they haven't announced yet. Movie stuff still start in May-June, so its unlikely that there will be a Megatron repaint, no?
  14. Dunsay has no connection to Hasbro anymore. Takara still does TFs for Hasbro, eg the most of movie line. They can only really make Megatron more purple, they can't do him black or silver or any other real gun colour.
  15. That little 2 pack Prime is poo, man. The only good thing about him is his gun. I'm considering giving the Prime to a kid, but I wondered if that would be cruel I'm using the little Megatron as Blitzwing. Oddly, the little Megatron will be released single-carded in Europe.
  16. Prime is more of a shelfwarmer because he's shipped 2 per case in EVERY Voyager assortment. Last I heard Megatron was phased out of the final Voyager assortment, replaced by another Jetfire. Very high cost, takes some work and the problem with G1 reissues is a low return. George Dunsay, the man who helped develop the line and was the liason at Takara (he has absolutely no connection with Hasbro anymore) says that he expects that the production cost, produced at high numbers for a typical G1 reissue such as an Autobot car might be as high as $30US per unit, taking into account the increased cost of raw materials and the fact even at 'high numbers', these niche-market reissues would be in comparatively low numbers to other TFs Hasbro would make. So Hasbro would need to sell an absolute truckload of them, and the problem with reissues is no store except TRU was willing to take them, due to their limited customer base as well as being 'old toys'. No reason for them to preserve old commercials. How the heck would they know they would need them again in 22 years?
  17. he also combines with the Deluxe class Scorponok toy, so that when you press the rotor trigger on the tail, Scorpo's pincers spin as well.
  18. So what you're saying is that TF fans should thank their lucky stars that Classic SS isn't blue and orange?
  19. Hmm, I didn't know Classics Starscream's deco was based on a real US squadron colour scheme.
  20. From what I heard Stan Bush (who wrote and did the vocals for The Touch) never got royalties for it.
  21. Yeah I know, I meant he evidently just decided to use that design of his for Stormbringer. I got UM Vs Skywarp today. Skywarp is so sexy it should be illegal, like Romulan ale.
  22. Technically that was a different fusion design. The Classics one made its first appearance in the IDW Stormbringer comics, though by that point the toy had already been designed, Don just decided to use the toy design in the comic. Jetfire - Copyright violation in Disguise!
  23. I believe the guns stick out so that they are outside of the nosecone in vehicle mode.
  24. Careful with the head lasers - they're fragile. Dunno why Hasbro didn't use that rubbery plastic they often do on thin, fragile parts that stick out.
  25. Since the comics and Beast Wars, TF actually do have their own language and script. In the Dreamwave comics they used japanese script (I forgot which one) to throw in random in-jokes like japanese TF names, or shows. Spoiler you might already know: The TFs speak their own language in the movie, especially the Decepticons. Before learning english, I assume. Probably from the official Movie board then - so of the most extreme anger comes from that board, and from what I can tell the americans are just about ready to grab their guns. Or at least a G1 Megatron
