The movie premiered (sorta) in Sydney yesterday evening. Bay claimed they were the second audience to see the movie, as they had finished it 21 hours earlier. Seems to be mostly good opinions so far.

Voyager Prime isn't accurate to the real truck Leader Prime is about as accurate as you can get to the prop truck. The Voyager truck is a mis-mash of this truck and that truck and might even be a completely different truck model judging by Takara's insistence that Prime is a Kenworth W900, not a Peterbilt 379. -

My point was that I don't prefer the fan ideal of Starscreams being spineless, weak cowards. They don't need to be, as Cybertron Starscream showed. There was a intelligent Starscream who carefully plotted his treachery, biding his time until the moment was right. Outside, he is considered by Megatron himself as the only soldier he could rely upon, not realizing the one he trusts the most to carry out his orders is the one to metaphorically stick the knife in his back. And he was powerful - he easily matched Prime one on one and once defeated all the Autobots by himself in a sort of reverse to Code of Hero. And he's ruthless, firing a missile at the kids to divert Prime's attention. Now THAT's how you do Starscream -

Yeah, I'm not enthused with the fan ideal of Starscream being a spineless coward. In fact, the quite popular Unicron Trilogy Starscream (in the variously changed Japanese rebooting of his personality), he is quite powerful, a usually a match for Megatron and Prime. In Cybertron, he has G1 Starscream's guile, treachery and ambition couple with great fighting skill and strength to back up his brains. -

Can you give us a tutorial in how to do this? Like is it easy to do? -
I believe the international version is the one you see in cinemas with Shrek 3 and Pirates 3, no?

Don't forget to FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM AND FOLLOW OUR HEARTS this July! Seriously, if they had said 'justice' somewhere it would be lines from a bad anime theme song.

Oh You could try transforming it to bot mode and transforming back. -

Think you misaligned the transformation - I got mine yesterday and its fine in vehicle mode -
The 80s thing would only work if it was some sort of nostalgia comedy (laughing at hair, fashion, famous events) and was G1. Nostalgia only goes so far, especially if the sheer majority of the audience can't remember it too well.

I think Starscream can be made better if you find new arms for him. I considered figuring out how to use FAB Starscream's arms, but they're way too small and unarticulated I bought Barricade today. He's sexy in vehicle mode and evil in bot mode. EVIL! -

I honestly can't see it being that bright, but I'll take your word for it as I live in a cave. My Prime doesn't look anywhere near that orange. -

The problem with Hasbro is, as soon as the toys go outside the team that developed them, in this case, Hasbro's Transformers team, it falls apart with bad posing, bad instructions, bad photos by people who have nothing to do with the toys whatsoever. This is most notable during conventions where if the Hasbro booth's figures are transformed correctly and posed well, then its likely a member of Hasbro's TF design team did the booth display themselves. But if they're looking like a catalogue or official photo, probably somebody from marketing or sales did it. -

The worst, by far, are the instructions for their first release of Cybertron Optimus Prime where they got his super mode backpack wrong, even though he's correctly in super mode INSIDE THE BOX. Jebus. -

It ain't bloody flourescent orange-red. Its just a brighter red. Your eyes need fixing. I've owned the thing for two weeks and it doesn't look fluro orangey red. From the Transformers wiki: Link Sorry to hear about Hasbro's crappy instructions (they seem to be outdoing themselves in crapness for the movie line) and the dirty missile. -
The poll itself has a significantly flawed (unless we're able to change our votes) because this thread started a very long time ago, and most of the people who voted (good, bad, okay) did not see a SINGLE FRAME of film or animation. I think its time for a new poll given a fair number (of course, not all) people have either been suitably impressed and changed their minds in light of actual footage of the TFs actually doing stuff.

Clip of Prime fighting Bonecrusher on the freeway, as seen on the MTV 'awards' (and I use the latter term loosely). Its a more complete scene of the often-seen trailer segment where Bonecrusher smashes the bus and tackles Prime, but this time shows what happens before and immediately afterwards. Okay quality on Youtube File download for better visual quality clip

I don't think you guys should take the Leader Starscream or Voyager Bonecrusher as gospel until Hasbro and/or Takara say something or a test shot is leaked. I don't think Takara really cares about the movie or the movie line especially not enough to start doing exclusive figures in other size classes. That's why their packaging is almost exactly the same as Hasbro's, and the ONLY different toy is 1974 Bumblebee, who has clear windows. Plus, only HLJ have listed this mysterious Leader Starscream and Voyager Bonecrusher. Might as well not get our hopes up until we see something or a more reliable source confirms it. Blackout - the farting gear mechnism in his chest pops out of alignment easily so he ends up not transforming back into vehicle mode correctly. And yeah, the pegs don't have enough friction to hold his legs up in vehicle mode. The 2008 Bumblebee is Wave 3, I believe, with Arcee and Dreadwing. Might be late June or early July. Even though you're asking me, David would be far more knowledgable They are not in scale. Movie Prime's Peterbilt 379 is considerably larger than 20th Anniversary Prime's Fake Made Up Truck that looks abit like the Freightliner FL86. G1 Prime is alot taller because they designed him as a robot first, so he has gigantic robot long legs sticking out the back of the truck. Different scales aside, the reason why 20th Prime is taller is because he simply stands up in robot mode. Movie Leader Prime's front and back ends of the truck come together to make his legs. In the movie CGI it transforms differently, with the back end becoming his legs and the front becoming his arms and chest. From what I've been told, Movie Prime's Peterbilt is simply the largest truck you can get in North America. -

Heroes was just the working name. I believe the series is actually called Transformers Animated (to differentiate itself from the movie). SHADDAP LIGHT UP STUFF IS COOL. -

WARNING If anybody is interested in the Optimus Prime voice changer helmet, be aware there are two versions. An earlier release does not have Peter Cullen's voice. This packaging merely says 'TRY ME!' on the corner of the box. The second version features Peter Cullen (the original and Movie Optimus Prime) saying the same lines. This one has 'TRY ME! Featuring the REAL movie voice!' on the corner of the box. Image courtesy of MantaScorp over at seibertron.com -

Check out Longarm here. His vehicle mode is based on the tow truck Mikaela drives Bumblebee on in the 'I'll drive, you shoot' scene. Hasbro and Takara share toolings, so its likely Hasbro are producing these toys by themselves. I don't believe Hasbro has depended on Takara to actually manufacture the toys for decades. Yeah, this is a test shot. Most leaked Transformers are test shots (unpainted or not) or packaging samples. Most of the time the test shots are very close to the final production versions. Methinks Hasbro might change some of the sharp/pointy or easily broken parts to a PVC material. -

There have been several instances of test shot or proto photos appearing without any indication from Hasbro or Takara in the world of Transformers. Sometimes we only find out a toy exists because of the test shot find. -
