The dice can be seen in ANH. When Cherie goes into the cockpit in Mos Eisly to prep the Falcon, his head bumps them and you see them jingle.

Didn’t John Carter of Mars also feature moving Cities that fight each other? Chris

Just got back from my second viewing. I actually liked it a lot more this time around. Many of the “thematic “ issues I had weren’t as apparent as I thought. I believe that my opinion was being influenced by some reviews online that are making it overly political or putting large amounts of social commentary into their reviews that people seem to do to EVERYTHING lately. I’m curious how this movie will “age” with audiences especially after 9 comes out. It still has issues, but I enjoyed it much more now. Definitely like it. Chris

Sounds like a lemon to me as well, though I think Century’s QC did start to suffer as the line continued. I still have the very first 2 releases ironically back when they only cost around $45 and they are perfect, then as the line continued the price is now almost 3 times as much and quality is down. Ridiculous Chris

That was really moving....the lyrics and visuals, just....wow. Makes me sad for Luke the CHARACTER because of what he goes through and how he ends up, but then also how the FRANCHISE chose to portray him. Still very conflicted about this movie, I guess I’ll see how I feel after I see it again tonight. Mark summed it up perfectly in that video....”If you go into this movie thinking you will recapture your childhood, you’ll set yourself up for disappointment.” Makes me wonder why is trying to recapture that wonder such a bad thing in Hollywood now, why does the new generation have to tear down what came before to make their way? I like the new characters but why can’t they find their own way without destroying ours? I know change is inevitable, I have no problem accepting that, but to just be thrown aside and shown a message that what you did/or fought for didn’t matter and need to be killed/forgoten is really harsh. I posted this on another forum regarding the difference in Critic and Fan ratings, but applies with the above. I completely agree with Chronocidal. “As I have said before I am someone who enjoyed the movie and am looking forward to seeing it again. Just to play “Devil’s Advocate” regarding your question about the difference in reaction by critics and fans. Perhaps it is because of the times we live in. A lot of change is happening right now. As we have seen over the past decade with Millenials entering the work place, there is a completely new way of seeing and doing things being pushed into the workplace and society at large....some good and some not so good. The overall theme that keeps getting played out in both reality and in the movie, is the tearing down old institutions to make way for the new theme. Critics seem to be latching on to the the “tear down” theme in the movie while a lot of fans may not like seeing their old hero’s taken apart that way. I can understand both sides, but can say that my problem comes from the idea that just because there is a new idea that makes it good or better, and if something is “old” it is wrong or inferior. Back to the real world, that is what I have been experiencing in the work place and hearing from many others, that this new group comes in and wants to remake everything because it works better for THEM, with no understanding as to WHY things are done the way they are. They just want to be the boss with no time spent working for it. So in the movie industry people that go in “bold new directions” are applauded. New ideas are automatically “good or innovative ” and old themes/ideas are “bad or stale”. As a few people have said, just a little bit more time working on the story would’ve done wonders for this movie, but they just seem to be doing “how do we get from plot point A to B ect” with minimum thought or effort. Also, just because people don’t agree or like something doesn’t make them fanboys (taken in the derogatory, if it was not meant that way I apologize) but we see that in society too. If a movement or organization does something wrong or makes a mistake and you point it out or disagree with a particular ACTION or point......even if you AGREE with said movement/organizations overall mission/statement....you are then just characterized as a hater in any of its definitions. It’s “all or nothing” with people now and it seems to be so much easier for people to just relegate anyone who disagrees with them down to some spiteful name that is unworthy of listening to. Just assuming they are coming from a flawed or bigoted place, instead of actually....you know....listening to them.” Like Chronocidal said there is a difference between PASSING a torch and TAKING the torch. It seems as if these people don’t to want to learn from the past generations, they just want/think they are right in all things. Chris

A couple of points first to the spoiler: As for the differences or not. I agree and disagree with what you are saying. I never subscribed to the TFA is a copy of ANH school of hatred, and quite like it. I can acknowledge the similarities though. I will say that filmmakers can make an original SW movie without going so far off the beaten path that TLJ did. To say it has to be one way or the other is a bit simplistic, IMO. I did like TLJ, but honestly I’m still not totally sure how I feel about it. I’m seeing again tomorrow night with some friends, so maybe I’ll see it in a different light as I’ve heard is happening for many. also: After 1 viewing I think there is a lot to like about the movie, and a lot not to like. Seems like both sides go to extremes for me. Chris

Me too. The Defender, though, is now Canon! It is in Rebels, and is a project of Thrawn. I believe it never sees full production due to cost and complexity. It is actually even referenced in the new Incredible Cross sections book for TLJ as it was “resurrected” by the FO and its technology was used for the TIE Silencer.

You are so much smarter than me. I tried to show someone one time but I just typed it in the correct way to show the format and of course it just came up as a hidden comment! Lol! I’m an idiot!

Great pictures. I agree, though, and said the same about the largeness...the problem area is the knee’s, they made them far too thick. If they just would’ve just lessened the down-ward angle from the bottom of the intakes to the “point” of the knee a bit it would’ve look fantastic.

Those are awesome perspective pictures! Great work. Chris

I posted this on another forum where that article was linked as well. Descent article you posted. I agree with most of it but found as I was reading I started to be reminded of millenials in the work place and the issues they brought/bring. The “I know better than you even though I haven’t done anything yet” or the “you have flaws but don’t tell me I’m wrong” mentality.... and then the article actually goes and says it! It also becomes hypocritical to this point as it also says Poe has to learn from Leia as she is more experienced and knowledgeable. So which way is it? Out with the old who didn’t do it right and to which the new generation must now suffer and make better, or learn from the previous generations to make a better place. The ARTICAL is trying to have it both ways to an extent, but started to really smack of the “poor me” entitled millennial crap by the end. I write this as someone who did like this movie, and as I said agreed with much of what the artical was saying. Maybe this is a movie more for millenials and that’s why it’s rubbing people wrong. Interesting.

Pretty much how I feel as well. I’ll need to see it again to determine how I really feel. Enjoyed it a lot but I feel kind of numb right now too. Chris

Been working on this. It’s the TIE Defender 1/72 kit from Kessel Run Kits. I added som extra details and used the Cockpit ball from a Bandai TIE Interceptor as I like that it is larger than the kit provided one that was using the Fine Molds TIE ball, and it is also open instead of solid. I also used the Bandai kits panel tip blasters as they are bigger and more detailed than the small resin ones. Just need to give it a light wash and then attach the solar panels. Compairison with the provided resin ball.

Thanks Slide...almost bought it but shipping is really high. It almost doubled the cost. I’ll just get one off of eBay a little cheaper. Chris

Copy that. The TV Cruiser kit is just becoming hard to get at a reasonable price so I was looking for alternatives. Chris

Question, can you still build a Cruiser mode ship from the Storm Attacker kit? Chris

Whoa, that looks really nice! Chris

Very much looking forward to part 2 of Trollhunters this Friday. Glad to hear a part 3 is coming as well. Chris
