Don’t know about the Air Force either, but in the Navy it’s usually something your embarrassed about...a reminder of something stupid you did. Like most nicknames. Not “Phoenix” or “Avenger” ect. Chris

That’s a good way to be really. As much as I hate TLJ I have to wonder where could they have gone from there without a course correction? I’m not saying this as a hater but a legit question. It was a middle chapter that didn’t progress the story and ended story lines while not creating or furthering anything. It really did leave the last movie in a difficult spot, which is from what I’m seeing the biggest problem with TRoS, that it is too much information and an uncohesive story because it’s trying to set up a story from nowhere. Hollywood still doesn’t get that callsigns aren’t supposed to be cool and bad-ass sounding. Chris

Basically, if you don’t like TLJ, we are in a loose/ loose situation with TROS. On the one hand, if the movie does poorly, then the “Toxic Fandom” will be blamed for poor turnout or for JJ and company changing the path TLJ set them on that others liked. While on the other hand, if the movie does well, then new audiences can and will replace the old fans and that we are not needed (as Bob Iger has said). Campea as usual blamed the “Toxic fandom” once again even when saying it comes on both sides, but the 2 sides he described are still both the anti TLJ group. He won’t/can’t see that there is toxicity from the pro-side as well which includes the media. Man is this crap tiresome. Chris

From the little bit that I read it SEEMS like the fans of TLJ don’t like this one so much. Maybe a good thing may not. Examples would be Campea, Collider, and Scott Mendleson (cheerleaders of TLJ) didn’t like it while Kristian Harloff, who ultimately came out as not liking TLJ, said he really liked this one. Chris

I absolutely enjoy the Mandalorian too. I just like to try and fit things into what was established. Doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it for what it is, I just noticed the different lines and try to reconcile with what is known. Chris- 1438 replies

So I’m thinking the Yoda species has a period of rapid growth/development. In Return of the Jedi Yoda tells Luke “when 900 years old, you age, look as good you will not” establishing that at 900 Yoda is elderly for his species. But I’m watching Empire at the moment and there is another key bit of dialog. When Yoda reveals his identity to Luke he says “for 800 years have I been training Jedi” so at around 100 Yoda was not only a Jedi but experienced enough to teach new Jedi. Yet, in the Mandalorian, the child is 50 and still a toddler. Perhaps he will hit a rapid growth period or something soon. As much as the audience loves Baby Yoda. Having the kid grow up rapidly will allow for more stories and use for him besides cuteness. Just the pondering of a Star Wars fan here. Chris- 1438 replies

This is actually a pretty cool clip. First one that I actually really liked. So much wasted potential.

Yup, I completely agree. I totally hate TLJ and am completely disappointed with the squandered potential of the sequel trilogy....but I’m not going to suddenly act like George was doing everything so right the way most seem to be. I remember how things were and won’t jump on the “revisionist bandwagon” the way the internet seems to be. Just because Disney is screwing up doesn’t mean Lucas was doing much well either. Chris

I remember that too. There was another slightly older kid that was leaps and bounds better. I even remember when Lucas and the producers were talking, it seemed like the McCallum and another person were surprised to find out the other kid wasn’t who Lucas was talking about when they were talking about the obvious choice. That’s the problem with being surrounded by “yes” men. I’m not going to pretend that Lucas was the greatest the way so many are NOW. I remember most where so happy when Lucasfilm was sold and he was no longer in control. Yes, some weren’t happy about Disney getting it, but just about everyone was glad George was no longer in control. NOW after TLJ, people suddenly say “poor George.” Funny how we forget. Chris
