AWESOME!! I had considered trying this too but chickened out. I wish the Storm Attacker kit was still available or would get a rerelease to use it’s more accurate parts. Keep the updates coming. Chris

The ship name, Prometheus tradition not withstanding, I can live with...but the identical modex numbers is just so bad. Chris

Crap....I didn’t even notice the modex numbers. Man that does suck. Rethinking this now. Chris

Eaglemoss Star Trek Starship, BSG & other starships Collection
Dobber replied to Sandman's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yes, the new kit is supposed to be over 18 inches and stated as 1/1000. I *THINK* it was originally supposed to be supersized like JJ-Trek hence the 1/1000 scale at 18.9 inches. HOWEVER, the producers have also since stated that this is indeed the same ship that Kirk commanded and only looks different because it hasn’t been refitted yet to look like it does in the TOS. If that is the case then it seems they MAY have walked back the size. Frankly, I’ve given up on the whole scale thing with these ships in both JJ and Disco-Trek.....and the idea that the Disco-prise would be refitted to look less advanced into the TOS look is idiotic. I appreciate the TOS Connie for what it is but, IMO, it looks like a 1960’s design to me. They should’ve just went ahead and said Disco and such are just VISUAL reinterpretations of Trek. Problem solved...at least visually. Chris- 924 replies

Pretty much all of this.^^ Though I did appreciate the explanation for the different looking Romulan foreheads. Also that they (Picard and what’s her name) at least weren’t expecting StarFleet to BUILD a second fleet. This show could’ve been....something Lol! Chris

Yeah, we’ve been talking about this kit over at SSM. It’s looking fantastic. Size is around 18.9 inches. I love the test shot build as it gives you the idea what it would look like with a more TOS or TMP color scheme. I’m going to get 2 of these and paint one up like that and see if I can get some replacement Nacelles of some sort similar to the Refits. Chris- 924 replies

Same here...it is nearing the Refit as my favorite Enterprise design. Clearly the best thing to come out of Discovery. Chris- 924 replies

Was the B-2 really a Heavy Bomber? I thought it was more of an infiltration Bomber to knock out some key infrastructure to pave the way for the 52’s to just lay waste to everything else. Chris edit: Whoops, just looked up it’s payload...I was WAY OFF..disregard.

Lol, true. Let me rephrase....they’re not supposed to. My point is, Star Fleet decides who lives and dies all the time. The writers really don’t seem to get that and are instead just interested in pushing a very flawed narrative. Chris

Me too. Yeah, it’s unfortunate that the character of Picard has to be “dismantled” so the actor who plays him can feel good about himself. It’s sad we have gone so far that actors can only play characters that are just like them politically, sexually, ect? Only similar type directors can direct movies on said subjects ect. Chris

Tried BoJack years ago and couldn’t get into it....though reading some comments it would seem the first half of season 1 isn’t anything special, which is all I saw. Kind of like Parks and Rec. ^Same for me with Sabrina...just too much I didn’t like. Chris

Yeah...while I thought her tirade at the end was a bit childish...I can totally see (plot hole aside) where she was coming from in Universe. Like you said. Picard comes off as egotistical and petty. “Star Fleet disagree’s with ME” so I quit and besmirch the name and intentions of the hundred’s of thousands of Men and Women who dutifully serve the Federation and DO care about all life by saying that “They are Not Star Fleet” Not to mention completely ignoring the nearly 100,000 people killed in the attack. To Picard they seem to be inconsequential, and then does it again showing his utter contempt for the organzation 14 years later on interstellar media. I have a feeling the show is going to go to the extreme in proving how wrong everyone else is and vindicate Picard. Supposedly, it gets like that from episode 4 on, we’ll see. As for the Prime Directive....I wasn’t implying that Star Fleet can’t “interfere” when asked by other warp capable civilizations. Just.....more how they WON’T interfere with lesser civilizations....like say a global war in a pre warp civilization and 1 side is wiping out another. No matter how much an Officer May want to step in and stop it they can’t...or if a plague hits a population that the Fed’s could cure. That kind of scenario. Chris

Aside from the F-bomb and then the petty tirade I was glad the Admiral went off on Picard. She rightfully pointed out and reminded Picard that Star Fleet DID in fact make a great effort for the Romulans...inspite of protests from member worlds. That Star Fleet was stretched thin. Also as for deciding who lives and dies so to speak.....isn’t that what the Prime Directive essentially does. Star Fleet will not interfere with natural events even if they can? Chris

I’m referring to all media. While I do agree everyone can and does act like “my side is always right” media (news, entertainment, social) is extremely biased to one side so it’s just the same thing over and over. What he said ^^ Chris

Yes, Star Trek has always been progressive, but it was also unique in it’s time. Now you can’t watch anything without a message. Also, it could be thought provoking in showing both/all sides to an argument. Not the current “My side is always right and the other has no merit or value” and also portraying the other ideals in the most extreme caricaturist is fashion. It’s no longer thought provoking but becoming insulting and preachy in the worst ways. Chris

Nice article. I am a proud Trekkie too and hope for the best for our franchise. Like the author points out....one of the unique things about Star Trek was the positive view of our future, and why comments from Stewart himself and the current powers that be are concerning as it seems they clinically view that as a weakness that needs to be tempered and changed. As it stands after one episode, I did like what I saw for the most part. Like the article said, I reserve judgement until I’ve seen it all and so far I do want to keep watching. Chris

That’s not my point, of course the Federation could and would be the only neighboring power that would be willing to help but It still doesn’t explain why the Romulans can’t do it themselves. All the Major Powers sufferer horrendously in the Dominion War. As I said they are still an interstellar Empire that rivaled the Federation and the Klingons. Where is their StarFleet and ShipYards. If there is time enough to build a freaking FLEET of ships why couldn’t existing ships from both governments at least get the evacuation started. Still makes no sense that the Feds are the “Bad Guys” in this scenario. Especially after they legitimately tried to do it and then suffered a great loss themselves. I still don’t buy that if there is time available to negotiate, order, then build an entire MASSIVE Fleet and crew it, and then apparently do it again before the planets are destroyed, that they couldn’t be evacuated with the time and what was available from BOTH governments. Along with what the Romulans CAN still build with their apparently more limited resources. If the story wanted to say that the Federation wasn’t willing to build a fleet in the first place, similar to what Azrael is comparing with ST6 and the Klingons...then that would make more sense for being angry/disgruntled with Star Fleet and the Federation. You guys keep missing the point that the Federation DID attempt to help, and at great cost. It’s like the show is trying to have it both ways, they help and don’t help. That’s why I find it unbelievable that with all that time they still can’t evacuate the populations. Chris
