Transformer Starscream Masterpiece has arrived!
Dobber replied to kentgh's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wow! That Skywarp is sweet!!! KingNor, are you serious about Skywarp being painted like a Blue Angel? If so whats with making all the other seekers blue, but not making the one that's actually blue!? I didn't mind Starscream being repainted because he had the cheesiest paint scheme IMO, but Skywarp and Thendercraker have schemes that look nice. Especially Skywap, I love that black and purple. At least you guys either have yours or it's on the way. Tam hasn't even shipped his yet. I don't mind doing business there because Tam is such a Stand-up guy, and I'm happy to give him my business, but this is the one drawback Twin-Moons usually seems to be the last to get stuff. Not knocking ya Tam, I just really want my Starscreem!! -

Wasn't there supposed to be an article from the design team explaining why they chose this particular color scheme, in a hobby mag this month? Chris -
Battlestar Galactica Viper Mark II
Dobber replied to valkyrie312's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Cobywan is write abuot the federation models version. I own 2 of them plus the FM Mk II and the ill fated 1/48th sci-fi version and the 1/72 fed Mk II is IMHO the best most acuurate of the lot! Now when F and M realease their updated MK II it looks like that one will take the cake as the best of the bunch! Oh yeah, the F&M Viper is actually largerthan 1/24, probably closer to 1/20. I always thought that the Black Sun version looked too fat. It's a little cheaper though, but not by much and the Federation (sci-hi) version is soooo much better IMHO. Chris P.S. If anyone is interested, here are some pictures of my 1/24 scale MK VII. I was one of the few to be lucky enough to get the kit before the seller had some family problems. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...8501&st=120 it's post 135. -
Wasn't that in Yukikaze episode 4? Chris

About the QC issue. Does anyone know where Tam (TwinMoons) gets his supply from? That's where I'm wanting for mine. Chris -

Me too. It'll still be a few weeks for mine to arrive at Twinn moons so it'll be the better part of a month until I get mine. Question, I can't remember but do all the seekers have identical faces? So the only difference would be there color? Or are there slight variations in or on the head designs. Chris -
Transformers Super Thread 4: The Return
Dobber replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I was able to get the 6" titanium Thendercracker and Jetfire today. They are pretty cool. Question though, what version of Thundercracker is this. I seem to remember that the Seekers use to look like some sort of pyramid type fighters in the G1 cartoon before they came to Earth, but it's been so long since I've seen it...more than 20 years....I can't remember and I can't find images to confirm. Is this what this Thundercraker is representing? Chris -

Actually I don't understand why they didn't tampo print the SS tailcode that was shown before. I really liked that. I wonder if it is included as a sticker or they just left it out all together. Chris -
I've been fortunate to see the Tomcat fly on many occasions. The best of them was at NAS Cecil in Jacksonville FL.in '94. That F-14 did things that I didn't know a Tomcat could do! Growing up military I got to see Airshows at both AFB's and NAS's. I gotta say that the Navy ALWAYS put on a better show. If you watch the flight demos of the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds there is no contest....the Blues win hands down, I've even had Air Force Buddies grudgenly agree with that Don't get me wrong the Thunderbirds are still impressive to watch, but the Blues are so much better. There's a saying about the difference between AF pilots and Naval aviators...... The Air Force has a book of do's (meaning, You can do this, this, and this) The Navy has a book of don'ts (just don't do this or this) I tend to agree with that statement, and it definately shows in the flight demo's that you see at airshow's or at different services Air Bases. I've heard that it is pretty good from a few people. I want to see it, just can't find the time. Chris

I like it, but then again I never had a problem with it. I guess they realized the earlier color was too Thundercrackerish. Chris -
I liked it. I'll tune in again. Chris P.S. I went to high school with the blond internet girl Ali Larter. Cherry Hill High School West baby.

I'm refering to the 0 not the ghost. I really like how the VF-0 looks in this picture. Much more subtle tones than the standard VF-0A release which I also like. But, if they are going to release a 0 in this paint scheme I'll hold off and get this one instead. picture is 3rd post down. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...0081&st=260 I understand that the Ghost and weapon pods are unpainted but the zero is painted different than any other zero we've seen from Yamoto and I really like it. Any info would be appreciated. Chris

Graham, is the VF-0 in the Ghost display just a one off custom? I really like that paint job. Chris

I seem to remember a while ago we talked about encounters between eagles and tomcats and the eagles alays had the advantage, meaning the odds were stacked in their favor more fuel excetra, and that the Tomcat and the Eagle were never really pitted against each other on equal footing. That being said the Tomcat still had the eagle in some situations. This was also using the old PW A models too. The D model would more than likely give an eagle serious competition even in the Air Forces un fair fightes. David you would probably know best. Chris
-
I'm pretty sure something similar happened in Iran. A Tomcat and an Eagle each had their own flight demo time and the Tomcat just blew their socks off compaired to what the eagle showed them. That, however could also have just been who was flying the airplane though. Anyway, I was incredibly sad yesterday because of the F-14's "retirement" damn you Cheney!!! Well, fairwell beautiful. You will truely be missed. To the F-14 Tomcat, the Coolest of the Coldwar fighters! Chris

Is there anymore info out there................ Graham......................... on whether there will be a separate release with the Ghost booster? The pic from the hobby show showed a VF-0A painted differently than this release. Chris

Sweet Zombie Jesus!!!! Chris

Grand Cannon that was awesome!!! I've been wanting to here the Starblazers version of the Wavemotion gun for sometime now!!! I thought I remembered the Horse sound when it was fired!! Sweet! I was disappointed when I got the HK yamato sets and the sound effect was different than what I had remembered from my childhood!! Chris
-
Cool! I'm glad that line change bugs someone else as much as it bugs me! Chris
-
Well, I just got to watch one of the remastered episodes and while the picture quality is great, I too was a bit disappointed at the "NEW" effects. Shot for shot with CG including all the awkward movements of the ships was really disappointing. I also thought they where going to do something alittle more updated and different from what was originally there. Also, I thought they would also make Phaser effects instead of the torpedo effects when they say fire Phasers. Chris
-
Wow! those pics are awesome!!!! and personally I think the plastic one we've seen that David refered to looks even better! ?So this baby just keeps getting better and better! Chris

Besides Greedo shooting at all, my least favorite change isn't nessessarily anything drastic but.... It's in Empire, after Vader and Luke battle it out and Luke "sacrifices" himself in the core. I always loved the scene when Vader is walking back with his croonies and he grumbles "Bring my shuttle" I just loved how he said it... short, staright and to the point. But, in the SE the got James Earl Jones to redo the line with "Alert my Star destroyer to prepare for my arrival." For me, it just didn't sit well. Kinda of like the special edition Army of Darkness that had an alternet line to "good bad I'm the one with the gun." Anywho, I'm on the fence to these DVD's, my wife actually bought them for me, but after reading the intial reviews here I returned them, but now...... Chris
