The 1/2500 model scales nicely as a 1/1400 ship in prime universe proportions. Chris

Yeah, Tamiya Hull Red is WAAAAY OFF. Never seen any hull look like that color. Like peter said it’s like a brown. That Dull Red looks real good though! 🙂 Chris

Yuuuup, me too. When I see the comments about the fighter being “AMAZING” and “Near Perfect” and start to wonder if they have ever looked an aircraft other then from above. That being said, after looking at some of these reviews there are some things I do like about this….just I *Feel* like they could’ve gotten a far better fighter that wouldn’t have compromised the toon bot that so many seem to want with just a minor bit of more effort. I mean the planes canopy is literally right behind the faux canopy which is the cause of the biggest offense in Alt mode. Oh well, like you I’m clearly not the market they want either. I agree with what was said earlier in the thread. I always viewed or maybe would’ve preferred MP as making realistic representations of these characters…in both modes. Chris- 17073 replies

Indeed, very cool you got to see it still operational and in person. Careful with that 18 picture. The mouse may go after the military! Chris

@peter Hot Dog those are some buitiful builds! Love the Focker….looks like a proper wartime ship! Chris

Yeah I like that orange tint a lot. I agree it has that early 1900’s bulb glow better. More like candle light. Chris

That had me laughing. 😁 Chris

Honestly feel the same. It works in animation or in an all animal setting as animals are confused by decoys and such. But people, nah, not fooling us. So if the do use the “nano-skin” thing or whatever, then how will toys ever be able to replicate it for transformations or will the just go for movie ravage and Grimlock metal appearance. Though to be fair both of those where already robotic representations of animals and not disguised animals. I dunno. Chris

Wow, that looks great Derex! @electric indigo not sure yet but leaning towards no. May do slight paneling like what the TOS remastered did. *the first picture really shows the difference between what the TOS Enterprise looks like compared to my changes, for those that aren’t as familiar.

Ok not sure if you all are missing it, or what, but I did say “I really hope not” nor was I implying having more Human terminator things, just wondering if they would use the same “cheat” method of making a robot disguise itself as a biological being. Chris

Been working on a custom Trek TOS ship. An off-shoot of the Constitution Class. I’m using the old AMT 1/650 TOS Enterprise as the base kit. She’ll be the U.S.S. Ranger NCC-1777 in honor of the original U.S.S. Ranger commissioned in 1777. Using a mixture of scratch built parts and custom alternate after market parts. Chris

I wonder if they’ll reuse the nano skin thing they used for the college “girl” in the second Bayformers movie. I really hope not, but that would be the only way to have a realistically disguised robot as an organic being. Chris

I love the Spitfire and this is looking real nice. Though I never did care for the clipped wing versions, but that has nothing to do with your build. Great work! Chris

Awesome work Peter! I’ve been thinking of trying something similar too with starting with a non-uniform base hull color and then building up from there to help tone down the heavy contrast of the wallpaper decals. I don’t always feel like drawing on the panels. Chris

Wow that looks really cool! Does this merchant have a store? I really love some of these custom designs but so many are just for “instructions” and then you have to source parts which gets insanely expensive. Having a kit sounds so much better. Chris

Still saddened that the Aquamarine kit never made it to market. I really liked that version of the ship and the kit was looking really nice. Chris -

Cool thanks for the info Sildani, I kind of suspected that was the case but all the images in the included magazine didn’t show the lower hull for the cg ship. Just the physical model. Chris- 924 replies

Got mine yesterday as well and no the Aztecing is not subtle. The droopyness may just be because the pylons are a regular plastic and quite bendy…at least this time of year do to the heat. Overall pretty nice but I do wish the Aztec was more subtle. Also, is the secondary hull correct? On the model the deflector area has the same shape as the Galaxy class but the images of the studio model show a more unique shape. Or was that changed later? Chris- 924 replies
