  1. Thanks Sketchley. It's such a sweet looking design (to me) and would be a shame if was just a one off. Chris
  2. Yeah, the cost of the toy itself isn't too bad, it's just the shipping that usually kills. My 19S from amiami was just over $80 shipped granted I used ems shipping but their registered sal wasn't available for it. Chris
  3. Gotcha I was really just more curious about the the Kai/E model. Chris
  4. So is the info in the Master Files considered cannon? Like the VF-19E....everywhere else it seems that its just the fire valk or Kai or Basara custom and sounds like it was a one off prototype from the earlier series YF/VF-19a/c for the new VF-19F/S, that was given to Basara and the Sound Force. The Master Files seems to show it as a "stop gap" variant that became a regular variant. Chris
  5. Me too, originally I didn't get why everyone kept talking about the F instead of the S. Then I looked up the F and realised I liked the the color scheme so much better too. Chris
  6. Blazer would be great...but remember that they are different variants fron this. I think Basara's (Kai) is the only official version of this type (what the Master File calls the VF-19E) so any other use of this mold would be some form of custom. Like I said earlier as much as I dislike Basara's livery, the E (Kai) is my favorite variant (I like the blazers too but don't really care for the F/S's wings) so I still may get one of these due to how long it may be before Yamato gets around to doing non-canon repaints with this mold. Chris
  7. Cool, thanks for the info. Chris
  8. Thanks for the info. I agree about the costumes...they just have that typical Hollywood plastic armor look to them. Chris
  9. Yeah, I agree. Didn't really care for the movie either, after some of the images that were shown, and still think the costumes look......fake/silly (if that makes any sense) But the Trailer does look pretty good and I'm now mildly interested. I admit, I know nothing about Thor so I can't judge accuracy or anything. Chris
  10. I'm just curious how the head gets transformed for fighter mode. I wonder if it will require any parts removal? Chris
  11. Ah, thanks Grand Admiral, Link is fixed! Chris
  12. Yes! However, I do understand the want for something different too. They YF-19 still really hasn't been done justice and after seeing how nice the Kai is looking so far, it seems like they could finally make a nice YF-19. As it is though I'll be waiting for repaints of the Kai (E) due to my dislike for Basara's livery. Chris
  13. Graham, when you do get to talk to Yamato again, maybe you could suggest some of the schemes that were used in the master file book to get more use from this sculpt/mold. IIRC, Yamato had something to do with the book anyway..right?? A plain Gray scheme would be great or maybe one of the 2 clover leaf schemes that where shown. I'm getting way ahead of myself here since the Kai is still in the early phases, just putting it out there though . Kudo's to Yamato, this looks great! Chris Edit: just looked at the Master File again, the VF-19E at the bottom of page 123 would be perfect. It's simple and would be easy to produce. I am just REALLY liking how this sculpt is looking and would love to get one, I just really dislike/detest Basara's color scheme. Chris
  14. Yup, I know what primer is for badboy00z , but Chronocidal already described the problem. Primer can still be worn away. Trust me I've done a complex custom already and there are some...not many, but some areas that just wear down or will chip, like on tabs. Luckily my custom...see my sig line.....was originally dark grey to black so those few spots dont really show. Red however will stand out big time. Chris
  15. I wonder how well this will sell...or rather how many people will still pass on this, despite the beautiful sculpt, because of the color scheme and the singing Basara in the cockpit with his Silly (imo) guitar control? Personally I'll probably still pass on it and wait for hopefully a better color scheme in the future. Chris
  16. Curious as to why so many people like the F model so much? Is the difference from the S just less head lasers? Chris edit: OK, looked it up, yeah I like it better than the S too. It has better colors.
  17. Looks pretty cool to me. Chris
  18. A 19S would be a definate buy for me too. My favorite variant, though, is the 19E (Kai). I think it just has the best of both major versions...the wings and canards of the YF/A models and the LERX, canopy, Shoulders and engines ofthe F/S types. Just beautiful. Chris
  19. I'm not sure if the torso can go down any further. If you look at the CAD art that Graham reposted the front end view in the lower right corner shows that gap. I thought about buying one of these to for a customization repaint...but painting over Red just sucks and any chip would show like a neon sign. Hoping for some mass produced repaints...like some from the Master File. Chris
  20. After looking at the pictures again..and AGAIN!! I gotta say it really does look beautiful!! I agree with anime52k8 that everthing looks much more proportional now too. The wings look great...instead of the little things that the YF-19 mold had. Now, if they could just make a scheme that I liked. Chris
  21. I was waiting for fighter mode pictures before I commented. Gotta say I'm hopefull now. I still would like to see a good profile shot of fighter mode to see how "chunky" things may be, that angle shown can hide an aweful lot. Problem for me though, is that I don't really care for Basara's scheme....I like the 19E just not the color scheme. Maybe they'll make a non-canon version to milk the mold some day like they did with the YF-19. Will definately be interested in an F/S variant and a "hopeful" v.2 YF-19 with these improvments. Chris
  22. Problem is that the center head laser isn't part of the rear head assembly but part of the head itself. Chris
  23. Yeah, I have the same problem with my 19S with the angle of the legs in fighter mode and the should pad issue. My bigger problem is I broke off the center head lazer already. I super glued it back on but it easily breaks off again due to it always getting hit by the plastic lip of the upper "spine" when the torso is transformed. Chris
  24. Awe shucks! Guess it gives me something else to look forward to then. Chris
