that black smudge on the Emperor always really bugged me. Glad it will be fixed too. Hope some more of those deleted scenes will be incorporated back into the movies too. I remember when the SE's came out and the whole Biggs, Luke, and Red leader scene really surprised me. Chris

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Dobber replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Cool thanks. I forgot about the whole Sifo Dyas thing too. Makes me wonder who are the better troopers, Clones or StormTroopers. Well not really, Clones are MUCH better shots! Chris- 1217 replies

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Dobber replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I get that, just wondering if the change was perminant or if after time they would start to revert back or question what they did. Storm Troopers replaced them after all, or I guess the Empire just decided that it would be cheaper to train people traditionally rather then grow clones or maybe the genetic sample was lost or used up. Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Dobber replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
IIRC, Stormtroopers aren't clones correct? So I would be interested in seeing what the clones were like after order 66. Like after they had time time think about what they did. Where there problems with the clones and that was why the empire stopped using them? I know it would never happen, and I've said it before, but I'd love it if the clone wars series would finish with another movie that would essentially be a retelling of ROTS only fitting more with what is being established in the clone wars and maybe fleshing out some of the things that were glanced over in the movie....like order 66 and maybe the impact it had on the clones after the fact, if it did at all. Really loving this show so far. Interesting how 1 half hour episode of Thundercats portrayed Anakin Skywalkers fall to the dark side better than 3 feature films of star wars did! Lol Chris

Which makes what they do in ROTS so much more......heartbreaking. Can't imagine Rex doing that but then again Cody had no problem trying to kill Kenobi. Chris- 1217 replies

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Dobber replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
So was Yamato security super tight at that show or something? Usually there are tons of pics out there of prototypes but all we got was the one grainy picture of this and the VF-19F/S. A least there were a few nice pictures of the VF-19P. Just surprised by the lack of pictures all around. Chris -
Yup, though the vf-11c still isn't on sale. Not sure if it ever has been, and it is far from new. Hell, the 11b doesn't even have that great a price. Hope this isn't a bad sign for any of the Vf-19's ever going on sale. Chris

SOC GX-58 Earth Defense Force Flagship Andromeda
Dobber replied to Kyp Durron's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Absolutely, amiami has great service and their prices are usually better than Hlj. Frowning on preorder cancelations is their only drawback. You can do it but they may not let you order from them anymore if you do it too much. Ironically, the only time I ever requested an order cancelation from them was for the Andromeda! Chris -
Hubba Hubba! Man this looks beautiful, like David said, the legs look better than the model. I'm really looking forward to this! Chris

Good post Ignacio, a very valid argument. While I too am no fan of the fins, I can definitely see were you are coming from and do agree. Was just hoping is all Chris

I visited the the North Carolina several years ago in Wilmington. The engine room was open there iirc. Great tour though. Chris

Dude WTF is your problem?? Many of us simply don't like the fins...yes it is part of the design and we all know it and DO accept it. But if it can be made to be easily removed then all the better for all. If you like them, great they stay, and if you don't they can come off without damaging the toy. Don't get why you are so hostile about it?? Forgot this is the internet and common etiquette and decency when talking to others seem to be thrown out the window by many. Chris

Yeah I thought they did a really good job following the book. Some minor changes here and there but over-all the stayed really close to the book....even put a few seens from book 2 in the final episode. My understanding is that each season will cover a book...though I thought I read somewhere that some of the later books may take more than just 1 season. I also read somewhere....take with a grain of salt......that GRRM gave the HBO producers a broud outline of where the saga will go and how it will end....in case he doesn't finish the last 2 books for some reason. Well, I guess I need to purchase the next book and start reading! "takes a deep breath and prepares to dive back into Westeros." Chris

Wow! You have a long, long, LONG way to go! Hehe I just finished book 4. Not bad but definitely the weakest in the series, to me, thus far. These books are massive and after reading books 1-4 back to back to back to back, I a bit burnt out. I think I'll read the new Dresden book and possibly something else before I tackle book 5 Besides, it's not like book 6 will ready anytime soon Chris

Perhaps Graham could shed some light on some of these questions such as: What type of gun pods will be included withe F/S and P? What color sche, will be used with the P? Though the non-whale blood seems most likely. And is there a possibility of having the speaker fins be removable, on the P Chris

Why is hoping that the fins are removable considered whining? Chris

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series

Good post Keith, that's how I saw Anakin too. I always felt that once he opened himself to the Darkside it was like opening the flood-gates to a disease. It just rapidly overtook and overwhelmed him and would explain his drastic actions immediately after. Like you said, Lucas set it up, but he just doesn't execute it well enough. I always felt a few simple lines here or there, in Sith, would have really cleaned things up abit for the audience. Chris- 1217 replies

Ok did a quick search doesn't sound like it could be Califorinia but I did find this picture circa 1995. to the right you can see the 2 Iowas to the far left by the bridge you can see 5 ships, the one closest to the dock in the group of three is an older BB look at her 2 large deck gun turrets. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Philadelphia_Naval_Shipyard2.jpg Chris edit: ooops, sorry that ship is the cruiser Des Moines CA-134 as Vifam 7 pointed out.
-
Thank you! I knew I remembered seeing 2 Iowas berthed next to each other. I wasn't referring to recently but back in the 90's. I could have sworn at least 1 old BB was there too....for some reason California come to mind. Chris
-
That seemed to be the number 1 request in an old thread when we were discussing the possible VF-19 releases. Most everyone wants those stupid fins to be removable. Chris

I think so too. Chris Edit: off hand where are the 4 Iowa's? Missouri is in at Pearl, New Jersey is on the Delaware river between Philly and Camden. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing another Iowa class in the Philly Navy Yard years ago when Jersey was still there along with a few other older class BB's. I'm from that area and always loved looking at the navy yard, not sure where the other Iowa is off hand. Chris

So help me I too thought it didn't look half bad either. QFT. Chris
