Actually there is no wash on it yet, the panel lines are just pretty deep. Chris

Are you refering to the bands that go around the lower half of the engine nacells? If so I'm not sure either. Quick update: painted and weathered the exhaust nozzles/feet. Lots of touch-ups are needed on the airframe still. Not glued on, just wanted to see how they look in place, still need to weather the housing area/cuff. Chris

I want lights and sound effects! Look how AWESOME the TF leaderclass Starscream and Jetfire look, particularly in jet modes! Kidding Chris

That's true, maybe I'll just stick to the 2012 scheme with some minor mods, like having the rudders not be painted the hull color but instead continue the black banner with red stripes. Chris

Would like to do this one, http://www.topedge.com/alley/images/f14a/f14a84i.htm I have this Tomcat built in 1/72 in my display case too. I always liked how the black skull looks. Problem is I don't know how I'd get 2 more black skulls. Could also go with the classic http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-photo-vf084-02xl.htm Neither seem too over done/ flashy to me. Chris

Thanks for the replies guys. I still haven't completely decided what paint scheme I'm going to do. Leaning towards something very similar to the flashback 2012 scheme ( I also liked how it didn't have stripes all over it ) but a little more like real Jolly Rogers colors...ie yellow and black instead of red and black. Still have to figure it out. So in the mean time I'll just paint everything else. Chris

Hi guys, thought I'd show some progress shots of my latest project, a 1/72 VF-4 Lightning III. Once yamato announced it's exclusive 1/60 toy, I caught VF-4 fever!!! This is the kit that Valk009 sold over the summer and it is by far the best sculpt of the VF-4 out there IMO. It doesn't have the wonky exagerated nose of the other kit that is out there....sorry I forget which kit is which. Chris

I'm a little annoyed that HLJ states that Fed-Ex shipping is 1964jpy but they charged me 2563jpy. Plus their exchange rate always seems to be higher than what XE universal Currancy converter shows. Oh well, at least I should have it Friday. Chris

Really liked that last episode. Did you know the female Deathwatcher was voiced by Katie "Starbuck" Sackoff? Also surprised by yhe amount of killings/death in the episode......minor spoiler.....- 1217 replies

Tokyo-hunter has the armor parts for pre-order too, and for 9500jpy. Are they a good/reputable store to order from and when do you pay for pre-orders from them? I'd like to have time to save up for it. Chris

Paid! Chris

Cool, thanks Graham. Chris

As I said above, the knee joint, it's a different color grey then the rest of the "internals." where the rest of the internal structure parts to the leg are dark gray for some reason the the knee joint is a lighter gray. Never noticed it myself until others noticed it back on page 52. Like I said not a big deal but I will agree that it does look a little odd. In the new pictures posted you can see this hasn't changed but the earlier picture above has a nice clear shot of what I'm referring to. Chris

Check out page 52 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35195&st=1785 of this thread the pictures there will show what I'm referring to along with a discussion....it's the actual knee itself the circular part. Not a biggie for me but it does look a bit goofy. Chris Look at the second picture here, it gives you a good shot of the side of the knee
-
I see one of the issues that people had wasn't fixed or just an early sample thing.....the knee's are still unpainted and are the same color as the airframe instead of being the darker grey/metallic color like the rest of the internals like the Alto release was. Otherwise looks terrific, looking forward to getting mine! Chris

Thanks for the heads up! Pre-ordered. I too hope for a few nice SV-51 pictures to be included. Chris

It really is puzzling isn't it. I would buy a VF-171 in a heartbeat as I much prefer the sleeker lines of the 171 over the chunky 17. Chris -
Hmmm, now I gotta think about the armored set. $106 before shipping will be hard to swing with everything else coming this year. Chris

I'd say so, unless you mean not this year, then, no I don't know that. VF-19F VF-19P http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35341 Chris -

Hmmm, so we know that there is the 19f and P coming at some point this year along with the 17D and the VF-4. I wonder what else's in store for us. If the Mac 7 stuff is being pushed back till later in the year, will there be anything coming sooner? Assuming the VF-4 will probably be the end of the year as well. Would kind of suck to have all of those releases in a relatively short period of time. Chris -
Awesome, I was just wondering if there was firm release date yet too. Chris

Wow! I'm speechless! The quality of some cg models (like this one) is Truely amazing. This really is a beautiful model, you should be proud of it! Fantastic work!! Chris

That's a real shame, would have liked to have seen that story he described. Also, had no idea that was him as the soldier! Chris
