Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
Dobber replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It makes sence to me. Adama and Coker's Rartor is an old variant without a jump drive so it has more space where the standard Rator's we know from the series has the larger, jump capable engines that take up the rear third of the airframe. Chris- 696 replies

Not a fan of the raptor either. HATE that stupid bulging bubble canopy...really kills the design for me. Agree, though, that the B&C Rator's redesigned aft end looked nice. Chris- 696 replies

Volume 4 is OUTSTANDING!!! Excellent character moments in this set as well. Also, is the new ending song one of the previously mentioned Yamato All-Stars performances. It sounds like a completely different song sung by a woman ( sorry I don't know her name) and I find it hauntingly beautiful. Chris

Uxi, where did you get the size comparison image? I knew the III was more robust but didn't think it was that much bigger! Chris- 696 replies

Just got my 2 Zero's. Really looks like a gorgeous kit. 1 will be in flight the other folded up. Will get the Yamamoto kit as well to display in flight as well. Main problem for me with the bandai kits are the color call outs are in Japanese. At least Hasegawa gives color call outs in English as well as Japanese. Anyone know what color the directions are saying is the base color? Looks metallic. Not really interested in the next release...the Gamila's carrier. Was hoping for more Fighter's, scouts, or bombers of either Earth or Gamilon in 1/72. Or a Gamila Battleship. Anyone know what Meranka of Mekakore size means? - Space flight assault aircraft attacking from orbit Yamato state impersonation appeared! - Meranka of carrier-based aircraft in the same scale machine comes with 2! - Also included Meranka of Mekakore size! Star Trek Into Darkness, in theaters May 17, 2013

My favorite non cannon design was this one from the STO design he Enterprise F contest: The D is my least favorite too. It did grow on me as I watched the series back in the day so I don't hate it, but it is still my least favorite...or at least second least favorite, just in front of the B. I love the Excelsior class too, but not a big fan of the Excelsior Refit that the B is. Refit and Sov. E are tops for me. Also really like the Ambassador Class C. I remember an episode of TNG when the senior staff was going into the confrence room and there were kids playing in there and Riker just playfully scoots them out! That left a bad taste for the D for me...just seemed wrong to me. Chris- 1020 replies

I have not read beyond them leaving the prison, but from what I have seen/learned it sounds like it becomes another story of one group of survivors fighting another group of survivors. Personally I'm not interested in that, but I guess we'll see. Chris

Still not convinced it IS the Enterprise that we see crashing into the bay in the trailers. Look at the nacell spacing and the shape as well. Looks a lot different. Chris- 1020 replies

Maybe Vaders legacy? Someone mentioned to me that they read somewhere that the Force Unleashed storyline would be a possibility. Now I completely took that as pure Internet/fan speculation with NO factual foundation.....BUT........the idea is kind of cool to me. Plus I like Sam Witwer (the actor that voiced and who the character was patterned after.) Chris

Thanks for asking this question. I've been wondering if Harlock was in the Yamato universe, and the answer would be....no? Though it was originally intended to be?? I'm building 2 Space Wolf fighters and thought they would look great next to the upcoming Cosmo Zeros. Chris

Sorry got to disagree with you there...Luke asks Leia "do you remember your mother, your REAL mother."He makes a point of specifying exactly who he was referring to. Sounds like it was either common knowledge she was adopted or Leia told him at some point off camera. Otherwise why would Luke specify "real" mother. Chris

Yeah, when I read his comment yesterday, I could believe it. Guess some people just want their anime completely hand drawn, but yamato definately doesn't look bad. There's preferences, and then there's just being blind! Chris

I give you the MK III Viper. The MK II was described as the lighter faster "Hotrod" while this one is the heavier, more rugged brute. From Doug Drexler's Facebook page. Chris- 696 replies

One of the best aerial sequences in cinematic history. Still get choked up watching that. Freaking love it when the Tomcats come roaring in after the yacht blows....i always think help has arrived! If you pay attention to the reflections in the pilots visors, you'll notice most of the in cockpit shots of the Tomcat pilots are actually done in A-6's with the pilots just wearing VF-84 helmets. Still one of my favorite movies. Chris
