I got one at HLJ earlier. However, any of you guys successful paying at CDJ via non-paypal for this HMR? I am somehow unsuccessful with both my regular card and a newer card. WTF?! edit/update: Resolved! Finally got one at cdj and now I can cancel the hlj one. Guess there was some timing issue with the new system at cdj.

"Playable" and "Poseable" can be almost a grail thing. At least with Macross stuff. The 1/55 are extremely "Playable". They're tanks. Of course, they're not that poseable since they're about 30plus-year-old designs. The HMR vf-1's are relatively recent, but you already know about the parts-forming and the tiny sizing. The 1/48 are huge, but can be quite cumbersome and sometimes fragile, as evidenced by your bp8 issue with it. The old 1/60 (v1) are way old and more partsforming than the HMR, not to mention challenging and quite ugly now in battroid-mode. So then your best bet from your size requirements and stuff will be the recent Arcadia 1/60 VF-1's for playability and poseability without the parts-forming. They're the same design as the older Yamato 1/60v2, but with a bit of newer materials. They're quite robust and solid (more solid and prettier than the 1/48 and the HMR), but they're heckuva EXPENSIVE nowadays. HLJ has the non-premium Strike Roy and Strike Hikaru for 21,800y already that does not include shipping-fees. Add another 10k-15k for the limited Premium versions (tampo markings). You can try to get the older Yamato 1/60v2, but those can get even more expensive than the newer Arcadia-versions from the scalpers. They're a bit less robust than the later Arcadia versions, but they have the correct colors and stuff.

Destroids... -
Yeah. Still looks awesome. I was kinda thinking you were gonna pair Yurisha with the Percival as an update on these sets...

Very nice! A DX Chogokin version will be even much nicer, too!

I'm not really sure what you're trying to argue in here. Are you really trying to justify the KO/Bootleggers by using the lawsuit between BW and HG? You're really going off the rails if you're really just trying to do that.
-
Anything HG-related is really a different subject matter altogether. It's ownership/trademark/licensing contention. It does not apply to this thread and does not apply to the KO/Bootleg manufacturers at all. KO/Bootleg manufacturers do not have any rights to do any contesting.

Report: New Arcadia VF-1 white is still purple/pink
treatment replied to davidwhangchoi's topic in Toys
Yup. At this point, it is what it is. -
Really has nothing to do with the KO/bootlegs. Whatever HG shenanigans there is, it is non-sequitur to this thread. It has its own thread.
-
Wonder if the KO-people will ever dare to produce and sell their bootleg-version of Yamato's 1/12 Votoms mechs. The Yamato 1/12 Votoms line looks quite an untapped and potentially more lucrative and ripe bootlegging market than the Macross bootleg-market in comparison. Scalpers seems to have been having field days on even the crappy 1/12-v1s pricings ever since Yamato folded. --- At any rate, anybody found any pics or bbs/forum "reviews" of actual pre-release samples of the bootleg VF-1 1/60v2, yet?

Report: New Arcadia VF-1 white is still purple/pink
treatment replied to davidwhangchoi's topic in Toys
Can you cover all those reds in the area (legs/backpack/etc) with some cotton-balls and take the same pics quoted as above? Wanna see if those reds are somehow affecting the lighting (bounce/diffraction/shadow/etc). The Arcadia white do seem hollow, tho, compared to the opaqueness of the AngelBird. At least, from what I see on the wings: vs The light just goes thru on the Arcadia Hikky. -
Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Anubis painted it? NICELY DONE! -
re: Arcadia I think Arcadia just got smart about the crazy situation. The way I see it is that Arcadia witnessed how much the scalpers have ludicrously priced the Yammie VF-1's (even Kaki's!) on YJA, Mandy and other 2nd-hand shops, and prolly even got shocked to see alot of people still willingly bought 'em at those stupidly high pricings. Cracking shoulders and other issues, notwithstanding. So why not them, too, right? At least their high pricing ain't as ludicrous as the scalpers', and that their stuff are indeed new official products with slight improvements and what-nots. We can whine all day long about their pricing not being yamato's of old, but that's just how their market is currently willing to pay for their products.

Well, not really all smoke at all, and it's kinda weird that you're only focusing on the cheapest labor factor and that you somehow think that's enough of a valid reason for bootlegging. Companies have to comply with both their home-country's and all the host-countries' laws and regulations. These are all international trade/labor/environmental/financial agreements and stuff. Regardless of which countries they are doing or outsourcing their business with. Bootlegging is not a "fair game" and it is totally incorrect to say the host-country does not care about IPs. All countries are expected to care and uphold IPs, per international trade agreements. Only the bootlegging people do not care about IPs, laws, trade-agreements and stuff. They only care about stealing money.
