Well, I'm trying to be modest and all since I'm not quite a newbie in posing stuff, but uhmm... Not sure if I'm supposed to be impressed or horrified with those poses on your pics. Seems like both Max-1A and Hikky-1S standing after a bronco rodeo ride... Well, already did that back in the day here... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/39641-arcadia-160-vf-1s-roy-focker-special-movie-ver/page/53/ With FPs and Arcee as a partner even... --- add/edit: Uhmm, not really getting why anyone would want to splay his legs out wide like that. I mean, sure the extra hip stuff is nice and some here like the poses you did with it, but any pose using them to splay the valk way out wide is really just not aesthetically pleasing to me. Guess I'm just not cool enough to appreciate those posings. Btw, can you guys resize your pics? This forum's software does not seem to do pic auto-resizing when quoting...

hmmm. Don't really notice any advantages at all vs the 1/60v2 other than it's bigger: Well, the latest Arcadia stand (https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10600388) is very nifty for the price, but one does not really need it if one already had one or all of these before: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10139388 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10088025 <--- still love this!!! https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10298416 That said, all the Yammie and Arcadia stands are much much more functional and savvier than the generic jokes afterthoughts that Bandai includes (and even branded as "LE") with the DXs...
-
One definite thing I like about these new DXs is the box/packaging. Quite efficient, compact and rather sturdy. In contrast, the old Yammie 1/48s (and even the YamArcadia 1/60v2s still) boxes/packaging were always just so wasteful. Just way too much unnecessary and unused space in them yammie-boxes.

Very nice sculpt.

The good thing about this MWF board back in the day is that various people will elucidate and elaborate comparisons. Be it Graham, EXO, etc, etc... Much better stuff for discussion than the endless whining about N-Y in this thread instead of its own separate thread.

Just wish this PF-0D was available at am-jp direct.

Let's try to be more specific on the Battroid that you say there's no contest and DX is indisputably better. Exactly which Yamato does the DX (which DX?) "blows anything Yamato out of the water" The 1/48 or the 1/60v2 or both? Can you specify which, why and how? Preferrably with pics showing how better the DX is/are against the yammie 1/60v2. For me, the only DX I have out on display is the Hikkie-1S with FP. In battroid-mode and in very neutral static pose.

"Thud"??? It barely made a whimper. At least it didn't quite went to bargain-bin mode at amz-jp direct as quickly as the HM-R VF-4 "Roy" and the various SOC-FAs. I don't think Bandai have had any recent sellout hits outside of the original Metal Build EVAs. I still wonder what the fugazi people see in EVA mechs that is even remotely so desirable. *shrugs* Even the GFFMC Zaku-II could be had at MSRP at amz-jp direct a month or so after release-date. Maybe that's why there seems to be alot of Bandai stuff going twe/pbandai route nowadays.
-
Not sure about the stands, as them 3-pks were damn frickin' cheap both here and in Japan. As for the HMR VF2SS... The Sylvie-VF2SS did fine in sales and aftermarket value. It still commands almost MSRP pricing in secondary markets, last time I checked. The "Nexx", BIG NOPE! I see it almost constantly way cheap and undervalued as new in most jp-shops. Even (or especially) in amz-jp and manda. More likely the Nexx-VF2SS sales would've been alot better if Bandai had actually put the correct pilot figure for it instead...
-
I think either or both that listing and/or that pricing by AJ-marketplace scalpers vendors have been there since even before actual the Hikaru-1S release-date. Still high scalper-pricing, regardless if the 10% tokyo-tax gets taken out. Wonder if Bandai will decide to re-release it if the upcoming Roy-1S does not have the "100" shenanigans...
-
Maybe they'll finally do a full-engine this time to compensate. To contrast with the wtf-half-engine with the current DYRL FPs...
-
Btw, no Hikaru pilot on the TV-FP set. Bandai will prolly charge another 10k-yen just to add him separately...
-
Yeah. So just TV Super-FPs as a separate add-on set. No complete Booby-Duck set just yet.
-
Yeah. Defintely TWE. Your pricing estimates are about right. For the FPs and red-tipped missiles only, tho. Will not even contain the Hikaru pilot. DX Hikaru-1S valk sold separately. With the Hikaru pilot, hopefully. This is Bandai, afterall...
-
Remains to be seen if Bandai will issue a "new" 1J with the grey-goggles for the GBP like they did with their HMR 1J-GBP. They could continue doing their nickel-n-dime thing and make the GBP armor a more expensive TWE standalone accessory like the missiles and FPs, but to surprisingly include an extra 1J grey-goggle head. Or both. As for the TV Super-FP, possibly the same tactic.: Another 1J with Super FPs. (but that would be copying yamato-toys.) 1S Booby-Duck edition with Hikaru pilot. Standalone TWE Super FPs with extra Hikaru pilot.
-
Honestly, guys. Try not to oversweat it nor succumbed to the scalpers/scalper-pricing coz you didn't get a po with the Roy-TV. Really think this DX Roy TV-1S will be available aplenty after release-date and at msrp or below, just like the DX Max-1A and the DX VF-31E Chuck.

Like the Yamato-Toys pre-ordering days?
-
To get an idea of the diffs, just go to http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=8895 and see it. That's fir the classic Yammie/Arcadia 1/60v2 versions, tho, as Bandai has yet to release their TV super-packs for the DX. They'd only released the DYRL super/strike-packs so far.
-
You should ask for a refund. It might have been like that a few years ago, but not really anymore. Bandai's been capping stuff across almost their entire high-end desirable toys in the last few five or so years now: Metal Build Gundams Metal Build Mazingers Metal Build EVAs GFFMC Gundams SOC GoLion SOC Mazingers DX Chogokin Macross VF-1 As such, even when they do cap stuff, some (or possibly more) of their toys do become shelf-warmers and unwanted stuff, anyway. That said, I think we're all just competing against the scalpers these past few years. Both old scalpers and new scalpers. Both here in the West, and alot more over there in Asia.
-
oh! oh! scalpers lowered their pricing at AmJ! ¥34,790
-
Shieet! I still have 4500pts I am still unable to use coz they've gone HobbySearch-mode during po-nights like this...
