HG and BW reach an agreement (Link included)
treatment replied to Atharun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Heck! Remember VO and VOXP? I want them old Bothec games revived for Win10 (or ps4/ps5) ! Those were friggin' FUN! I've been dicking around with my old copy of V0 under WINE, but even WINE eventually don't want to play it anymore... -

lol! we've all been watching DYRL since possibly the first accurate fansubs and alongside the various hk-engrish ones, that you should already know by heart what each and every dialogue in DYRL exactly means. Even in the most bizarro engrish version! -

Yeah. PS3. I was playing this last year using the 0D: Not sure if it's a demo since I never completed it. Thought there was also a PS4 game bundled with another release... -

You know, guys? Didn't DYRL BD contained a really good Macross shooter/adventure game entirely playable on US Playstation4? I think Frontier BD and another release also had some Macross (PS/3?) games bundled as well... edit: I think somebody here also worked and uploaded some pretty accurate english-translated manuals for 'em. -

One can only hope the Valks most want will be. For some perspectives, I believe those Wing Gundam GFFMCs and Metal Builds were rather quite difficult to get from P-Bandai USA/Bluefin. -

If things go through, P-Bandai USA will gladly sell you a DX Chogokin Macross Valk for, i dunno, US$350? (plus local taxes) for a: VF-31F VF-31E (original head) SV-262 Maybe they'll be generous enough to also offer them Lil Drakens pack for an additional US$150. And that's about it, I'm guessing. It'll be really interesting if the DX VF-1 variants and/or the DX YF-19 will be offered at all... -

That kinda brings a possibilty. Maybe Sony/Funi will be able to finally correct those atrocious near-engrish bandai-subs on Macross Plus BD's eps 3 and 4 when Macross Plus anime gets official distribution outside of Japan again, especially here in the US. Of course, Sony/Funi will most likely severely botched up the encodes of it as per their usual routine... -

I'm a guessing HG finally gets to use those sweet Mikimoto artwork on their boxes to try to hoodwink customers again of their crappy toynami veritech toys them boxes houses... -

The various macross-titles anime have been really really easy and rather either cheaply or no-cost to acquire. Whether dvd's, bd's, fansubs, or even HK bootlegs. The toys, uhhh, that's a completely different story. But maybe Bandai will flood the US market with their Messer and other unwanted undersold VF-31's/ VF-25v1-v2/YF-29's... -

If true, nothing much will change that I can see. Of course, if true, the Macross anime-titles will now be officially available again outside of Japan, tho I reckon most (if not all) Macross fans already have either downloaded and/or imported the japanese dvd's and bd's throughout the years. I reckon BW really wants more people to suffer Delta. Toy-wise, it remains to be seen if Bandai and Arcadia will actually ramp up productions to sell their toys outside of Japan. Especially Bandai. I very much doubt the the pricing will be lower than what we importers have gotten from the various regular import-shops (including the current covid-expensive shipping-fees). What's the current P-Bandai USA for available SOCs or Gundam Metal Builds pricing, anyway? It'll be interesting to know more and stuff about this "agreement". -

Not that convinced Bandai made more Roy than any of the previous ones. If they did so, then it should be available directly at the regular shops (like ami, etc) as new and at least at regular shops' SRPs. Anecdotally, HLJ got some stock from somewhere recently, tho I'm not sure if those were simply leftover pre-order cancellations. As such, I think Bandai's stocks simply just sold out like their previous non-TWE DX-VF1's. I believe Roy's got the same supply/inventory-amount from Bandai as their previous non-TWE ones. fwiw, most (if not all) available Roy's I've seen (and still being seen) are just secondary shops/markets (manda, marketplace, ami preowned, etc) offerings.

I think it's just normal market saturation. The Hikaru-1J was sort of an anomaly. It was readily available at lower than MSRP back during release-day and afterwards for a while. Then the scalpers started scalping them up and drove the pricing way up. The Max-1A was even more readily available and readily quite cheaper than MSRP to get than the Hikaru-1J. It kinda sorta went bargain-bin route for a bit. The Hikaru-1S was not available at amzn-jp direct, but was steady at 27k-yen for a while after Release-day, I reckon the scalpers thought they can jack up the pricing easier than the 1J and the 1A since the 1S cannot be imported thru amzn-jp direct and suckered more people. By the time the Roy-1S came out, people already got smarter and it was more available at amn-jp and other usual import shops more readily than the Hikaru-1S ever was at MSRP so the scalpers didn't get to scalp it as much as they wanted to. Plus the covid-pandemic kinda put a great burden and challenge on shipping processes and costs and possibly more restrictive export-processes. additionally... Maybe the scalpers simply just could not camp out at the local shops in regular droves and vacuum up the Roy-1S supplies like they did with previous DXs due to the pandemic restrictions in place.

Other than the stupid self-disconnecting design and over-tampo'ing, the Bandai DX is much much nicer and all that than the ancient Yamato 1/48. Unfortunately, it can get really challenging and almost impossible to get the Roy (or any of the previous ones) at least at the MSRP level. Budget at least 27k-yen for the valk and possibly about 6000y (or more?) for the shipping-fees for the valk alone. Then you gotta hunt down the FAST-packs (either the DYRL or the TV) for it, but budget around 14k-18kyen for each in Mandarake or wherever import-shops. Plus around 3500y shipping-fees for either. Oh, it does not come with missiles. So then you gotta hunt down the Missiles set for it if you require it. Budget around 8k-yen to 12k-yen for the missile-set. Plus 1200y or so shipping-fees. add/edit: I forgot to mention that the TV FAST-Pack set do come with the red-tipped reaction-missiles. So at least there's that. However, it only comes with the UNSPACY Kite insignia for the FastPacks. In contrast, the only Yammie 1/48 Roy I can find is the Weathered-Special at Mandarake, and it is sitting at 40k-yen right now. Who knows how much the shipping-fees for it, but the Yammie 1/48 comes in stupidly humongous box so be ready for sticker-shock. The separate FAST-Pack/Reaction-Missiles set is about 5k-yen right now over there. Not sure how much shipping-fees for that, but prolly around 4k-yen or more. This is MW. Most (if not all) don't have just one...
