  1. almost the same R1-thoughts as mine. here was my review on it posted at AOD-forum and at arstechnica-forum on 4/23/04: lots of issues with this ADV release, including the BOX-shenanigans that erupted at AOD-forum. I'd posted the box-pics there ( AzuDai box-thread ) . here's the extra "$10" box+pins:
  2. hmm. Human-vs-Zentraedi (TV)= done. Human-vs-Artificial Intelligence (Plus) = done. Human-vs-Protodevlin (7) = done. Human-vs-Human (Zero) = not finished, yet. The only plot-line that has yet to be covered in Macross is the Human-vs-Supervision-Army stuff. I like to see that after Zero. Kawamori can tweak the timeline again by placing it either after Plus or after 7. No, MII-fans. Marduk != Supervision Army.
  3. hmm. I think beam-sabers are over-rated and over-used in Gundam, anyway. I think beam-sabres is just homage to the samurai image. I don't recall Kou being a newtype, but he was good with the GP-01/GP03. Likewise Chris with the Gundam-Alex. A battle-axe is different, tho. I think it's ok for a Valkyrie to have a battle-axe. The blade could be incorporated into the gunpod. But I still think the VF-11 bayonet was the best and most logical way. I think the beam-sabres are only good for creating instant-onsen in snowcapped mountains.
  4. You need to have Windows Media Player or Real Media browser-plugins or standalone apps. Then you do an OPEN instead of save.
  5. It was ok. Spring-breakers and all. The girl with the big hooters was kewl, tho. Major Babe was such a hottie!!! Tara's got a bitchin' tattoo.
  6. So, uhh, just an fyi for the MXC minions here. The schedule says it's an all-day MXC-day today, too.
  7. geezus! I make a good living myself, but i don't think i can afford what you just did in one year, let alone in one month like you did. but, my hat's off for yah.
  8. fyi since I know we got EVA contingents here. The rather interesting (to say the least) drama-thread about this ADV's EVA-platinum already had started and going on strong. Still, nobody in that thread knows for sure if this Platinum-edition is the actual Renewal-version. Some assumes it is. I'm not one of those assuming. I'll be on a wait-n-see mode on this. I want Renewal-version, and not some hacked-up re-release ala Robotech-Remasters/EVA-DC. Fwiw, if you haven't bought EVA r1, but are still planning to do so, this Platinum edition might be the one to purchase.
  9. Yup. The dub on Seed was pretty good. I'm surprized Ocean Group voiced it good on the first episode, considering it normally takes approximately nine-episodes to get used to Ocean Group dubs.
  10. Yup. They did. The GITS:SAC SE-version is now price at $37.46 http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/ca...tem/62807/4/0/0
  11. TRSI pre-order page is up for Gits-SAC!!! Special-Edition for $44.96 at http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/ca...tem/62807/4/0/0 regular-edition for $18.71 at http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/ca...tem/62806/4/0/0
  12. Actually, "Anata o kanjite-iru - Mia Santi Ren" is on the Macross II OST Vol. 2 CD. It's track 17. Yeah, you're right. It was in OST-2.
  13. The song is Yakusoku (promise) and is included in the japan-only MacII OST-2 and in the Macross Character Songs cds. However, the dub-version of MII also featured a bgm just before playing the Yakusoku-song that I don't recall the title. The vocal-song prior to that bgm was Riding in Your Valkyrie, iirc.
  14. - Moichido Love You That song is not in the OST-1, but is in OST-2 and Macross Character Songs. - Anata wo Kanjiteiru is another (more elusive, rather) Macross-II Ishtar-song that's only available in the Macross Character-Songs cd and not in either of the two MII-OSTs. Most likely this is the one Ishtar-song you're missing since it has no lyrics available, iirc. CDJapan still sells Macross The Complete for $67 + s/h (typically $10 to usa), so it's around $77 in total.
  15. Macross The Complete contains music from the TV and DYRL only. Mac-II has it's own soundtracks. Two of them. The second-ost (japan-only) contains the missing Ishtar song.
  16. Great job, dude! Very nice.
  17. It's mostly a one-time-only routine and then it's all-region for the rest of the life of the player.
  18. heh! Besides my dvd-roms players, I'm using this standalone coby-215 since I know of the rather easy all-region hack for it . got it for like $30-$35 at Fry's late last year. Progressive, mp3 and some stuff. It doesn't have audio-5.1 outs, tho, like it's older sibling the 515, but I missed out on the sale on the 515.
  19. They've been doing that since '01/'02, iirc. As such, iirc, they were showing the painful dub-version of M-II back in '01/'02. Unless they changed and now showing the subs-version.
  20. Just hoping it's soon. oh, yeah. for the triplets-fanboys, here:
  21. Speculation is rampant right now that La Verite may get an R1-release since Geneon is listed. No official confirmations, yet, tho.
  22. Ai Oboete Imasuka aka DYRL.
  23. errr, it's "losing" coz the episodes don't come out quickly enuff.
  24. huh? what was that for? He's got the Minmay doll. THE MINMAY DOLL Most of us don't.
  25. bastard.
