I'm exaggerating a bit, yeah. But he's definitely quite a bit more understated, dark, and mopey than he gets in Ep. 4. I think the trouble I have with him is that he is a little bit manic-depressive, and especially manic in Ep. 4, which is somewhat jarring in the narrative. But then again, he just saw boobies. -Al Well, Shin did reached first-base with Sara in ep-4. I mean, he one-ups Hikaru already in the studly-dept. Might have had a homerun had it not for the bomb.

No problems with my batch of FP's, yet.

Thus far, only Mao's blood and the AFOS/AIPHOS have shown reaction to Sara's singing. No other Mayan-bloodsamples were shown to have reacted to Sara's singing, therefore they are eliminated from the equation as the Mayan people were not genetically marked as a group. Only Sara and Mao were. The only other option is that the Mayan island itself is the thing that was genetically-marked, i.e. flying rocks and flying totem. The flying totem was composed of "red clay" internally that could mean it's actually some sort of "dried up/solidified blood relic". Mao's blood was compatible with the AFOS. As for the mystical part, it is just that. It's the presentation of Protoculture-tech thru Sara in the Mayan society. She's not magical. There's something else more about her, and by extension, Mao, too. Sara's the religous head of the Mayan society, i.e. the shaman, the priestess, the Guardian of the Wind. All the talk about the Kadun by the Mayan people are religious in nature. Aries cannot scientifically explain Mao's bloodcell-reactions and the PCS coming from Sara when Sara was singing, even tho she had witnessed it personally. She has her own suspicions and it's colored by the protoculture-theory bias. It's so easy.

before you do perma-markers like those gundam-pens, try to practice with the old reliable #2 pencil. That way, you can still clean it up easily if you messed up the lining.

Yes. Of course I am. Limited but directly to the point in application and implication towards analyzing Macross Zero's story, atmosphere/environment, general feel and characters. If you're so inclined, you might also want to check what dictionary.com says about mystical, too.

You just proved that Sara and Zero are more mystical than magical. Sara is a shaman. A priestess. The Guardian of the Wind. In ep-4, she was being trained in the secret knowledge of guardianship by her father. I think the term to use with "witchcraft" is "sorcery", and not "magic". But at any rate, Magic means magic. Like pulling a bunny out of a hat. For cheap entertainment purposes. It involves sleight of hands and fakery through illusions, smokes and mirrors. Etc, etc. Such "qualities" that are not found in Zero or it's characters.
-
Why refer to Zero's stuff as magical when it is more mystical instead? i.e. magical typically means it just happens and unknown or spur of the moment thingymabob. There's mostly no historical, cultural, anecdotal or scientific documented processes. The term also connotes trickery. whereas mystical connotes something otherworldly and commonly unexplainable by most scientific means, but were clearly known and/or documented in history or legends or myths or cultural traditions.

damn. guess there's quite a few MW-members with unlimited disposable income.

No, but she screamed. And it was a kind of musical scream. I think she was begining to sing: The Women of Robotech, La La La La La .. Laaaaa rol! Maybe Sara really freaked out coz Dr. Hasford threatened to make her listen to Basara's and Reba's songs back-to-back non-stop.
-
uhmm, ahem. Sara was not singing when the floating rocks and the flying totem appeared during their escape in Zero's episode-4.

Would you buy HG versions of DYRL and Macross 7?

I think Reba would be the deal breaker for me - if she's in, then I'm in. yeah. Reba can voice Mylene. -
heh! I rather have (or wish) that Animeigo had improved the audio to stereo or 5.1.

Zero is gonna be as great as Plus. It's as serious and kickass like Plus already, anyway. The "flying totem"/rock is pretty much consistent with the shamanism-theme of Zero. Much like Sharon is consistent with the AI-theme of Plus. Both are done, presented and executed well.

I think ________ will make an apperance in the..
treatment replied to UN Spacy's topic in Movies and TV Series
My guess is that the VF-1 will be appearing in ep-5. Launched from the Prometheus. i.e. the Asuka gets sunk and the Prometheus appears launching squadrons of the VF-1. My wish is that the Skull-team (hikaru, max, kakizaki) will do the rescue of Roy and the others from the Prometheus. Complete with their respective colors and not just Low-Viz color. I'm still not convinced that Zero will be following TV-continuity. I think it'll be following DYRL-continuity (game and movie). -
*sigh* We're talking DYRL here. It's a 2-hour movie. But if you must insist... You do know the Zentraedi had those "growth"-chambers as shown during Gloval's 9/11 ceasefire-broadcast, right? They shrunked down the lolicon-3 to human-sizes. And as explained by Misa's interpretation of the Protoculture, both Zentraedi and Meltrandi used to be together before separating and having a civil war. Ergo, if the Zentraedi had them special-chambers, it follows that the Meltrandi also have them as well. And Max beat out the best Meltran-ace, therefore it's only both honorable and tactically/strategically sound to keep and enlist/incorporate the one the beats your ace into your army.
