  1. hmm. what was the finale this time?
  2. Yeah. Minmay got jacked big time in DYRL.
  3. that is really kewl! very excellent.
  4. Well, they're very correct. You shouldn't use and waste money buying Veritechs. Buy Valkyries instead. They'll all like it better.
  5. hmm. Human-vs-Zentraedi (TV)= done. Human-vs-Artificial Intelligence (Plus) = done. Human-vs-Protodevlin (7) = done. Human-vs-Human (Zero) = not finished, yet. The only plot-line that has yet to be covered in Macross is the Human-vs-Supervision-Army stuff. I like to see that after Zero. Kawamori can tweak the timeline again by placing it either after Plus or after 7. No, MII-fans. Marduk != Supervision Army. The Protodevlin started the supervision army, so when humans were fighting humans and micronized Zjentohlauedy on Varuta (I think thats where it was) that in effect WAS the supervision army. The supervision army was made up of Protoculture, Zjentohlauedy, and other beings that were under mind control by the Protodevlin. Of course. That was M7, tho. And we all know how you love M7. The SA i'm talking about should be the ones being chased by the Zentraedi in Macross-TV prior to outbreak of Space-War 1 and that SA should specifically be unlike the Varuta-army, which were directly controlled by the Protodevlins in M7.
  6. It's a little more severe than just "pussification" via lame television cartoon-programs. Before, we kids can actually play outside without supervision. We get to compete (sports, fights, etc, etc) against other kids in the neighborhood and others, without our parents getting involved or them knowing anything about it at all. The last thing any kid would want is to get his parents knowing about stuff that happened in the playground that's mainly all normal kids-stuff. We didn't have access to guns and stuff when we were young. In contrast, seems like the last 10-15 years, most kids have rather easy access to guns and other lethal weapons. It's both quite sad and terrifying to be a kid nowadays. Parental and community over-protection. Access to lethal weapons. 24-hour cartoon-channels that's mostly lame toy-pushers and doesn't promote any character and stuff. Yes, we had lame cartoons (jem, care bears, etc, etc) back when we were young, too, but we know exactly who watched those lame-shows and we call 'em at it. It was a pretty good and necessary attrition. Nowadays, the cartoons are still lame, but it's pretty much on 24/7. They're not just lame, but some of them are pretty much tasteless. Pretty much every kid watches them and there's no distinguishing between kids anymore. They all watch the same lame safe toy-pusher cartoons of this age. Oh, well. Kids will be kids. But I guess we just need to take care of the lame parents and lame adults for making this kind of world now. The parents are pretty much robbing the kids their kid-ness by being over-protective and some such. The lame adults are pretty much the reasons why parents are way too over-protective now. fwiw, remember Saturday Morning Cartoons in our youth? I'm finding the current late-nite Adult-Swim to be exactly what we know of SMC. Too bad, kids are not allowed to watch late-nite Adult-Swim shows, or Adult-Swim not being shown during the mornings.
  7. add me in. i forgot about this show until your post. gawd. been awhile since i'd last seen an episode.
  8. I have some problem with him having more disposable income than most of us. but it's all good.

    Hikaru Magic Cycle

You need the FAST-pack and the missiles (hmm and rms) with the Hikaru-1S!!! Good pic, tho.
  10. Me, I guess. I still want a VT-1 and the Q-Rau, but I'm waiting for a good sale on either or both.
  11. Maybe you should read more about the series themselves. A 2 hours OAV series cannot have anywhere close to the character development that a 24 hour long series does. Thats why they both came out at the same time. Macross Plus does have a plot and some character development, but it was primarily inteneded to be a showcase VFs and be an action movie. That cannot be disputed. The Mechas in Plus were right up front. IT STARTS OFF AS A COMPETITION BETWEEN TWO NEW FIGHTERS. How can it be secondary when Guld and Isamu engage in battle for approxomately 40% of the whole series? At the time Macross plus was the most expensive OAV to date, and it had no expenese spared in animating the valks including some of the first effectively integrated Computer animation (unlike the Return Of Char, where it was very gimmicky) Puhh-lease! Your full of non-sequitur such as the most expensive OVA and no spared animation. We're not talking about the expense of OVA-making and stuff. We're talking about character-development and plot, as you have opened up. Macross Plus starts off with ISAMU. Not with any fighter-competition. That came later after Isamu's and Guld's characters were established. The appearance of Myung alone gave the character-rivalry (not mecha-rivalry) more sense and more intensity at it became more personal between the two pilots. Macross Plus' focus was always on the characters: Isamu, Guld, Myung, and even Sharon. You really should watch more PLUS before you spout off your ridiculous BS about it. A 2 hour-OVA such as PLUS had more character and plot developments than all the episodes of M7 combined. The Mechas and Fighters-Competition were completely secondary in PLUS. It's all about Isamu vs Guld, not YF-19 vs YF-22. They're just machines. It's all about the two pilots in the fighting. It was Isamu who made the YF-19 the better mecha against the YF-22, not the YF-19 that made Isamu the better pilot. M7 had more focus on the VF-17, VF-19, and the VF-22. SoundForce, DiamondForce, etc, etc. In all it's glorified colorings, speakers and repeated stock posing. None of that in Plus. You get Isamu, Guld, Sharon and Myung developments in Plus. With great secondary characters like Millard, Lucy, Yang and Marj each adding different angles and perspectives on the whole story. roll-eyes. I was in that thread and your posts there just made me laugh and stuff. Tell me this. If you really think M7 was such a character-development and plot-development series in your eyes, tell us how Basara or Mylene or Gamlin have changed and stuff. Is it anyway comparable or even near to the changes in Guld, Isamu, and Myung as shown in Plus? What's up with Flower-girl and what exactly is her character and development in that series? Geezus. I don't like M7, but I don't hate M7. I'm rather ambivalent towards it. I like some aspects of it (the Max and Millia aspects). But you know, M7-fans like you completely blows my mind everytime you guys spout BS just to try to justify a really weak series such as Macross-7. By even trying to undermine and re-interpret Macross-Plus just to support your Macross-7 "reasons".
  12. yeah. that new batman-costume is very kewl. Seems like better new ear/horns this time.
  13. What??? What the heck are you talking about? Macross Plus was all about character-developments and deep, twisted, and involved plots. The mechas in Plus were very secondary. The difference between 7 and Plus is really simple: Plus is very good. 7 is very lame.
  14. It probably did during it's time before EVA. Then it got clobbered severely and handed it's ass on a paper-plate by Neon Genesis EVA. And then buried forever by Nadesico.
  15. Thermal image, a non-radar tracking tecnique. Ivanov was more sheltered than Roy and Roy didn't know where to look, that's why Roy didn't see him. FV I haven't check the Compendium, yet, but did the Zero have thermal-tracking, too?
  16. fwiw, DD's SV-51 detected and tracked Focker's Zero-1S in the jungle-fight of episode-2. Focker couldn't and didn't know where DD was until DD fired at him. Forgot to mention about the melee between them on the deck of the Asuka in ep-3. Great stuff. Imo, slightly better than the melee between Isamu and Guld.
  17. almost the same R1-thoughts as mine. here was my review on it posted at AOD-forum and at arstechnica-forum on 4/23/04: lots of issues with this ADV release, including the BOX-shenanigans that erupted at AOD-forum. I'd posted the box-pics there ( AzuDai box-thread ) . here's the extra "$10" box+pins:
  18. hmm. Human-vs-Zentraedi (TV)= done. Human-vs-Artificial Intelligence (Plus) = done. Human-vs-Protodevlin (7) = done. Human-vs-Human (Zero) = not finished, yet. 19. hmm. I think beam-sabers are over-rated and over-used in Gundam, anyway. I think beam-sabres is just homage to the samurai image. I don't recall Kou being a newtype, but he was good with the GP-01/GP03. Likewise Chris with the Gundam-Alex. A battle-axe is different, tho. I think it's ok for a Valkyrie to have a battle-axe. The blade could be incorporated into the gunpod. But I still think the VF-11 bayonet was the best and most logical way. I think the beam-sabres are only good for creating instant-onsen in snowcapped mountains.
  20. You need to have Windows Media Player or Real Media browser-plugins or standalone apps. Then you do an OPEN instead of save.
  21. It was ok. Spring-breakers and all. The girl with the big hooters was kewl, tho. Major Babe was such a hottie!!! Tara's got a bitchin' tattoo.
  22. So, uhh, just an fyi for the MXC minions here. The schedule says it's an all-day MXC-day today, too.
  23. geezus! I make a good living myself, but i don't think i can afford what you just did in one year, let alone in one month like you did. but, my hat's off for yah.
  24. fyi since I know we got EVA contingents here. The rather interesting (to say the least) drama-thread about this ADV's EVA-platinum already had started and going on strong. Still, nobody in that thread knows for sure if this Platinum-edition is the actual Renewal-version. Some assumes it is. I'm not one of those assuming. I'll be on a wait-n-see mode on this. I want Renewal-version, and not some hacked-up re-release ala Robotech-Remasters/EVA-DC. Fwiw, if you haven't bought EVA r1, but are still planning to do so, this Platinum edition might be the one to purchase.
  25. Yup. The dub on Seed was pretty good. I'm surprized Ocean Group voiced it good on the first episode, considering it normally takes approximately nine-episodes to get used to Ocean Group dubs.
