    1/60 Gbp

arrrggghhhh!!! why did you stick it with your Max-1S ?! You should have used some Yellow-1A fodder for the GBP to cover up.
  2. Ime, when I shared my DYRL-copy to some anime-newbie friends, the only thing they did not understand at first was how the SDF-1 got into space. So after they watched it, I just made them a copy of the DYRL-game footage to answer the question. These people don't know nor have any experiences watching Robotech or Macross, so they were pretty much fresh recruits.
  3. We must not forget that SDF-TV was a local and international hit, and it was still very fresh on the japanese-viewers minds when DYRL-movie was released 20 years ago. And DYRL is/was a movie, not a tv-series. That should pretty much explain the lack of the nitty background tv-details in the movie because everyone knew of the TV-series to accomodate and understand the stuff in DYRL. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean it translated well nor was understandable to Western audiences that have only seen the Robotech-version.
  4. yup. the hole was secured/closed quickly. iirc, the scene was in slow-motion, even.
  5. DYRL was utterly confusing the first time I'd watched it, the only previous experience I had with Macross being Robotech. Then again, could be because the audio was garbled and it was subtitled... in Chinese. Which I can't read worth a lick. But I imagine that watching SDF wouldn't have produced the same sort of utter and total confusion. -Al hahaha! in chinese subtitles. that's way too funny, man. prolly as funny as watching/listening to COTB for the first time.
  6. Gotta disagree there. DYRL can be an utterly confusing movie to someone who isn't already familiar with the overall story. At least, it has been to many. Obviously, for me this is at the point of "agree to disagree". . . but I would humbly suggest that those who prefer DYRL aren't giving the TV series enough credit for "priming" them for DYRL, thereby making DYRL as effective and enjoyable as it is for them. Again, however, I know there are some who saw DYRL first and just plain loved it from the start. And, I'm sure there are just people who enjoy brevity, beautiful visuals, whiz-bang action, and a more direct story. To each their own. Both are wonderful in their own way. I just think one wouldn't be so good without the other. well fwiw, both DYRL and SDF-TV can also be utterly confusing to those who have only watched or only got exposed to the Robotech version of it. More so with SDF-TV since it's more easily available than DYRL.
  7. currently, nobody has the R1-rights for DYRL, Flashback-2012 and Zero. oh, yeah. go to this pinned-thread for more info: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=153
  8. hahahaha! so apt!
  9. That's because Omega Supreme was the last surviving Guardian robot in the TF-G1.
  10. man, the GBP-1J just rox0r!!! that Isamu is really kewl.
  11. Not bad enough to go to a "love hotel" with him on the first date. People are welcome to their interpretations but in my opinion, even though DYRL-Minmay is more grown up, she's not quite a 90's "Sex in the City" woman. *ahem* Look at our mod Roy Focker's avatar. Remember that scene? Yes, you do. I'm not saying she's a tart and she proved it by refusing the love-hotel on the first date.
  12. Minmay-DYRL was a bit older and she was hot. And I mean hot. All those raging pheromones/hormones, man. She doesn't want to just date Hikaru. Minmay wants to do Hikaru really bad. Really bad. And she wasn't holding back nor was she as ditzy or airheaded like the tv-version. She's quite possessive and assertive, too.
  13. hmm. that art looks like it has DYRL-controls.

finally received my armor-only set yesterday and overall, they're cool. no pics since the cam is not available. few thoughts: [*] as everyone else had reported, the nosecone armor is kinda loose. you might want to use some tissue-scrap to secure them better than the default. or Glue them together permanently. [*] The right-fist peg was too big for my super-1J. So, instead of dyrl-pose, i have the tv-pose where it's holding the gunpod. [*] The whole thing can still do a wide-stance, but kinda barely. Be aware that the vf-1j leg-pegs are shorter because the hip-armor takes alot of space. I don't know if the VF-1J that came with the GBP-set have longer leg-pegs. [*] the toy just looks damn good as a posed-toy. can't play with it that much because of the looseness of the nosecone-armor and the legs/hip-armor. it's still all good.
  17. I'm exaggerating a bit, yeah. But he's definitely quite a bit more understated, dark, and mopey than he gets in Ep. 4. I think the trouble I have with him is that he is a little bit manic-depressive, and especially manic in Ep. 4, which is somewhat jarring in the narrative. But then again, he just saw boobies. -Al Well, Shin did reached first-base with Sara in ep-4. I mean, he one-ups Hikaru already in the studly-dept. Might have had a homerun had it not for the bomb.
  18. No problems with my batch of FP's, yet.
  19. The SOC-series is still the best EVA toy-line.

  21. Thus far, only Mao's blood and the AFOS/AIPHOS have shown reaction to Sara's singing. No other Mayan-bloodsamples were shown to have reacted to Sara's singing, therefore they are eliminated from the equation as the Mayan people were not genetically marked as a group. Only Sara and Mao were. The only other option is that the Mayan island itself is the thing that was genetically-marked, i.e. flying rocks and flying totem. The flying totem was composed of "red clay" internally that could mean it's actually some sort of "dried up/solidified blood relic". Mao's blood was compatible with the AFOS. As for the mystical part, it is just that. It's the presentation of Protoculture-tech thru Sara in the Mayan society. She's not magical. There's something else more about her, and by extension, Mao, too. Sara's the religous head of the Mayan society, i.e. the shaman, the priestess, the Guardian of the Wind. All the talk about the Kadun by the Mayan people are religious in nature. Aries cannot scientifically explain Mao's bloodcell-reactions and the PCS coming from Sara when Sara was singing, even tho she had witnessed it personally. She has her own suspicions and it's colored by the protoculture-theory bias. It's so easy.
  22. before you do perma-markers like those gundam-pens, try to practice with the old reliable #2 pencil. That way, you can still clean it up easily if you messed up the lining.
