Just to segue a bit, but doesn't it seem like this new Shin looks way too leggy and misproportioned with the revised chest? At least in battroid mode.
-
Uhmm, not sure, but where have you been? We've been calling Arcadia out for overpricing, bad engineering and inaccurate coloring since at least the pinkish VF-1 and the YF-19. I don't think there's any Arcadia valk-release that hasn't been seriously grilled here. Tenjin himself seriously questioned their color choice on the 0D during proto-days. Mr.K even had to go explain the overpricing on his blog recently.

No extra blown head on this Shin?

Spotted this today at TD: MADOKA AYUKAWA!!! http://toysdaily.com/discuz/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=242233&extra=page%3D1&page=1 Some of you are prolly too young to remember Madoka Ayukawa. Most likely some were not even yet born when she was the hotness. Madoka's always been very defined, so damn pretty, so damn fine sexy and never anorexic in both the manga and the anime versions. At any rate, seems like WAVE is gonna release a BQ of her in 1/10 scale. Not into BQ, but I might get it if they get her sculpted just right. That said, I'm already having issues with the cheeks on the grey prototype, as well as the rather anorexic body sculpt.

Oh, and yellow-tipped missiles now, too? It was red in the yamato versions, iirc.

So based on those, it's Black/Dark-Grey back-knees accents now. The previous Blue was just another Arcadia troll?

Looking at my Prime pic, I now see some chipping and stuff at the shin. Possibly due to that gray-connector thingy or something. Some at the knee area, too. oh, well... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My MP-1 is the battle-damaged Hasbro-edition deco, afterall... MP-1 is quite an excellent chunky... but I do like that MP-10 scales a bit better with my other figures. well, most of the time...- 16946 replies

I gotta check on mine later, but can you show us this an example "chipped" damage? Is it really even considered "damage" for a tank like MP-1? Maybe this "chipping" damage is a big deal to other collectors who just display their toys untouched, instead of playing with a toy like MP-1.- 16946 replies

You can smash MP-1 and MP-10 together head on and see which one develops cracks and stuff afterwards ... and fwiw MP-1 is really just worth at least $20-$30 to me. Even new and misb. I wouldn't recommend getting it for more than that. It's quite old. It can take the abuse, but that's about it. You might not even get the black gun if you get the Takara version. MP-10 is the better figure if you want anime accuracy, great articulation, excellent display/posing abilities, and the roller+trailer accessories. It is pricey, but I think it's relatively worth it.- 16946 replies

Aside from the dead eyes, MP-10 just looks better due to improvements since MP-1. It has more articulation and it comes with the trailer and Roller. MP1 is still the better toy. MP-10 is quite fragile in comparison due to it's mostly plastic content. Not really sure how playing with MP1 leads to damage. Truck mode is better, too. Not quite anime-accurate, but it's a solid truck and the bed locks better. I don't think MP-1 is a collector's item, either. It's a toy that you can give to kids without worrying about them breaking it. MP-10 is more of the collector's item. It's expensive and not really for kids.- 16946 replies

We'll see how the VF-19Advanced holds up over time. Literally. I've been reading posts about the Frontier DX-Chogokin valks getting/going loose and floppy after a couple of months or so. Not sure if any of the Arcadia valks have gotten loose, yet. Well, other than specifically due to the questionable ankle-joints.
-
I have a differing opinion on that. Maybe it's simply that Arcadia's YF-19 was just way too unjustifiably expensive to procure that perhaps a number of people here went and settled for the Bandai VF-19Advanced just coz it's the only alternative that was significantly cheaper. Not quite sure if most people here would've still gotten the Bandai if it was more expensive than Arcadia's and/ Arcadia's was significantly cheaper than Bandai's. I'm still surprised at the current polling result that indicates more people think the uber-expensive ankle-issues-laden Arcadia is better overall than the Bandai. Bizarro! As for respect, most of us know Bandai can make good toys, eg. Soul of Chogokin robots, SHFiguarts, et al. However, most of us also know and just don't appreciate their various half-ass efforts for their Macross toys specifically. Even this VF-19Advanced had some of that usual shenanigan of half-assing it. Not to mention the preorder-circus that they usually employ with DX-Chogokins Frontier mechas and even their upcoming HM-R's...

Yeah. The Arcadia YF-19 is just really way stupidly expensive. Which is par for the course since all of Arcadia's valks are way too stupidly expensive than it should be. I still cannot accept it as a YF-19 since to me it seems like it's just a recolored second-hand/leftover of the shelfwarming Yamato VF-19 mould that is from the fugly fatty/stumpy M7 TV-design instead of the properly sleek and fierce M+ OVA-design. Not much innovation (even ankle fixes) and stuff at all. Quite a lot of people here still somehow like it despite all the shortcomings of it. The VF-19Advanced looks a bit aesthetically nicer at first glance, but is obviously gappy in fighter-mode and has issues with the FP. It also seems unnecessarily bow-legged due to that weird thigh-rotation feature.
