I collect Yamato 1/72, 1/60 and 1/48 scale... I also have the MPC line and ArmorPacks. Looking forward to the New Gen/Mospeada stuff.... I also collect a select few MG and PG Gundam models. All in all, I'm pretty caught up... Waiting for Max and Millia Super 1Js, and the GBP armor for the 1/60 1J.... Of course I only buy one of each... Otherwise, I wouldn't be caught up with the releases.

I would love to see some other mecha from Yamato than the VF-1... Destroids, ENEMY MECHA!!! A VF-4 and VF-9 and VF-5000 is what I'm hoping for in the future.
-
Actually, I was thinking that the landing gear is a little tall as well... But DAMN fine composite... Great textures Doc.
-
cool stuff David. Thanks! Well I'll let you guys know how it goes.
-
HA HA HA! whew.... good stuff.

Nice work on the smoke! I'm a Photoshop veteran, and that is some pretty good work.... Did you use just the airbrush, and perhaps the blurring tool? Or some other combination?
-
A-M-E-N!!!!!!! J.J. That would be sweet.... So would the little pilots inside come alive, and the valk turn into a mini mecha?

This is something I didn't think about.. Thanks! Mechamaniac: Great tips as well... Thank you... David: The PG kits I have thus far are the Wing Zero Custom (I'm saving this one for last), and the PG Zeta. I downloaded some tips for assembling the W0C, but if you have more tips, I would like to have those as well... You can never have too much information... (well maybe sometimes... lol) I have about 5 or six MG kits that I'm going to build before I even attempt the PG kits... I've built model planes, and cars when I was younger... I'm a commercial artist by trade, and have had some instruction and practice with an airbrush, and I'm VERY mechanically inclined, and I've assembled electronic circuits before, so I'm pretty confident all of the kits will come out pretty good... CRAP. I just realized I forgot to bring in a manual to scan... I'll try to remember tomorrow..

good stuff. I wasn't around in the VERY early days, but long enough to remember a different time for this community... [song] Thanks for the memories [/song]

Thanks for the replies thus far... There are really only a couple of things I have question about... If I remember, I will bring a manual with me to work tomorrow and scan the parts I would like help with .... Lynxx: thanks for your specific offer... Tomorrow I should have the scans here.

I know that it's not really necessary to be able to read the instructions in the manuals since the pictures are pretty good for the assembly, but I would like to be able to decipher at least some of the symbols on the parts list just to check and make sure nothing is missing.... Specifically where do they tell you how many, and of what type of screws should be in the kit? The other stuff is easy to use the pictures... And some of the symbols that look like psuedo road signs.... A couple of them I can't tell what they mean.... The reason I ask is because I have a couple of PG models that I will get to eventually... They are very detailed and complicated and I just wondered if anyone would help out with some of the symbols... I can scan some of the specific things I would like to know what they mean if that would help. And, out of curiosity.... has anyone experienced any trouble assembling MG and PG kits without being able to understand ANY of the words (symbols) in the instructions? THanks, rocco_77

No thanks.... I'll get mine from Gundamshop.com, or somewhere else on the web, or from you guys! HA!

I would MUCH, MUCH, MUCH rather have a Kakizaki DYRL 1A

Credit cards are only bad if you are irresponsible... And he said that it wasn't the amount of money he had a problem with it was the fact that he had to come up with it all at once... So I agree with Fulcy... If you can get a credit card, do it, and then just be very diligent about setting aside enough money each paycheck to put towards the balance... Get a card you can access online, and make payments every time you have a little extra cash... That would help you not use the money for something else.

I found this really funny... Does that make me an über geek??

A car wash would rock... My fraternity had car washes all the time to raise money for the Cancer Society. All I had to do is take my shirt off and divorced women would line up to watch me wash their car, I porked some of em too, but I didn't charge for that (probably should have). You are an arrogant one aren't cha....

Yes actually.... Did you check the "How-To" forum here? Master "wmcheng" I believe has a thread with a step by step process of the -19.... AND I think he has also put together a NICE PDF file of the process as well... I'm sure the link is in that thread... See if you can display all threads started by a certain member in the search option here.... Look for threads started by wmcheng, or wm_cheng, or wm cheng.... DAMN! I can't remember exactly how his member name is written... Sorry I'm not more help.. Good Luck!

Sunny San Diego, CA here.... I was born here... One of the few natives left... And I would like to send a message to anyone out there that has moved to San Diego from somewhere else.... GO HOME!!! It's WAY to expensive here, and getting WAY too crowded... But I refuse to leave, cuz even with its newer faults, it's the best city in the country to live... period.

Last thing I read, I forget where, the first Alpha is supposed to come out late May or early to mid June. However, given Toynami's track record, I would bet on late June to early July. Actually, the original release date, I believe, was at the end of February... So this is already a pretty big push back.... Hopefully they will make good and release on this date... This may have been said before, and I may be the one who said it, but I hope the delay was because they were making last minute tweaks to the design to accomodate a linkable BETA/TREAD!

Are you kidding me LSB?? That is amazing art work.... I hope you won't be too shy when someone offers you some real money for your artistic skill, and creativity... Really nice design. Graham: I'm sure you are not able to tell us why Yamato has shut you out... But is there any info you CAN give about your relationship with them? I would hate to think that you lost your status with them because of us spilling too much information around here.

Has anyone else had any trouble running this on a PC as opposed to a Mac?? This thing looks cool, but I don't want to have to hassle with it too much.... Install and go is what I like...

I am also facinated by the engineering that goes into the toys.... For something that complex to come together and make a figure that is freaking cool looking, and also maintain very realistic articulation... I never did collect the toys from a long time ago... They have their purpose now, but I'm just REALLY happy that all of these are being reproduced with todays technology... they may not be as sturdy as the vintage stuff, but they look a helluva lot better... If appearance is what you are after as opposed to playability.

Cool. Thanks Ignacio! Wonder if anyone will do a custom on the Elint to make the radar dish more articulated and removeable... Has anyone messed with any ideas there yet?
-
I love these variations as well... Question though: My Super O in fighter mode where the back and chest plate come together, the gap there is larger than normal... Has anyone else noticed this? Also: Would someone be willing to briefly explain again how to fix the problem of sliding the chest plate down in Battroid mode? Thanks!
-
Sorry if this has been asked, but how tall will the VF-0 stand in Battroid mode at this scale?
