  1. Got the Blue, Red, and Green ones... still waiting on RT.com to ship the Shadow... I love them... And I find them to be very poseable. The paint job on the metallic was well done too with great weathering I thought. Worth the $15 each.
  2. I would LOVE to see 1/60 Destroids from Yamato..... Working search lights, and opening cockpits, and missle hatches, great articulation.... If they had those features, then the lack of transformability would be ok with me...
  3. I have an Iwata HP-B. It was $200 new, but it's a hellavan airbrush... I don't get to use it as often as I would like, but I love it....
  4. I too was confused about what they were saying in the article.. I had a feeling someone would post about it too. I just wish they would get it right for the sake of publishing accurate information. Anyway, I thought the pictures looked cool and I wanted to share them in case you guys hadn't seen them.... So how much does it cost to convert your US PS2 to one that will play ALL PS2 games? Don't you have to replace a chip or something?? GEEZ Abombz!! you already have almost 600 posts!!! I didn't even have that many on my old account....
  5. I don't know if this has been posted in this thread, but here are some screen shots from "Game Enforcer" magazine showing game play.... And I've re entered the copy in the upper left corner of this image... Sega’s Robotech Redux Sega and Bandai are teaming up to bring you the beginning of the Robotech saga in Super Dimensional Fortress Macross this October in Japan. What’s Macross? It’s the Japanese name for the animated series that started it all. The show’s title was changed to Robotech (and other storylines were added) when it came to America in the eighties. Sega is behind the development of the game, and it’s put Yu Suzuki’s old AM2 studio on the project. Those behind the Aero Dancing flight franchise are working on Macross, and they will fully utilize all three forms of the Veritech fighters. As for the publishing, Bandai is handling this title in japan. Last year, TDK released Robotech: Battlecry through its license agreement with the animated show. Thus, it seems like there may be conflict between the two companies, as Macross - even under a different moniker - is the foundation of the Robotech story. Game Informer contacted Bandai representative Linda Shannon, who could only say that the company “would consider publishing it in the States.”
  6. I don't think I would be too sure of that... I know the VF-1 MPCs were not what was expected, and in light of Yamato, they are rather pitiful, but they do have a uniqueness to them that may just put them in a "collectable" status some day. 15,000 is not a large run for each variant, so they may be pretty scarce in the future.... I don't buy my toys to sell them anyway though.
  7. I just wanted to bring this thread to the top of the page.... The stickers look GREAT Tom! I look forward to getting a few sets. Thanks again for putting this together, and huge thanks to Mary for doing such a great job!
  8. Wow... truely impressive... So you said most of the models were ruined? In what way? Is there any chance that most of them could be restored, cleaned or something to get them back to display quality? It would really be a shame for all that hard work and amazing talent to not be displayed... More pics of some of his work is much anticipated... Thank you for sharing this, and best wishes to you and to your partner and his family...
  9. So about any left over Cats Eyes..... Are they all spoken for, or does someone have one they don't want?? Thanks!
  10. totally agree There is no problem with the ver. 1 of Roy... No reason to do a second. My Skull emblem wasn't too bad actually... not enough for me to buy a new one anyway.... The only think really wrong with my Roy is the canopy won't stay up on its own, but that's an easy fix.... This is good news though for people that missed out on the Hikaru 1A.... And it also says something for the 1/48 line in general that it is a good seller.... Hmmm..... where does that leave us with the 1/60s? I hope they still complete the line.... Oh Boy..... more 1/48s.... you know they will be coming, and you know we will all be carrying our collections around in shopping carts.
  11. Yes please.... more pics of the second Mylene! WOO HOO! sorry.... but damn!
  12. Thank you so much for making the phone call Rob... I'm sure Jesse will be very pleased to hear the news you got from Tanmen. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Man I miss the "thumbs up" emoticon...
  13. That's fine if it needs lot's of revisions by different parties. I would just like to offer my services to do the original composite... Like Aztek said... as long as there is a consistent lighting theme for the pieces to be inserted into the composite, it shouldn't take much more than cutting the Valks out of their backgrouds, situating them on the Macross, and adding shadow casting for the Valks and Destroids to get the realism there. I'm sure a few of you will want to tweak the finished product, and so I would make available the finished Photoshop file with all layers in tact for ease of editing. Not to mention all of the original models could be kept as separate files. I could offer to burn CDs with all the files on them in case some of you would like to create a composite of your own.
  14. I would really like to see this come to an end.... I'm really thankful that I get to have some of his kits, but I will never order from him again after this... it's just been too long. Oh, and Jesse, if there are any Cats Eyes available I would also be interested in one. I didn't think I was going to want one, but I've changed my mind... No worries if this can't happen though... Thanks so much for you time and effort.

    1/48 Line

I would love to see M+ Valks in 1/48, but I hope they at least get the YF-19 FP out in 1/72 sometime soon... I missed out on Versions 1 & 2 of the -19 because the cost went up too much, so the re-reissue is what I'm all about now.
  16. Enemy Mechs and Destroids would see a fine end to the 1/60 line as far as I'm concerned... I really want to see the enemy mechs though. Was there any talk at all about doing a Cats Eye? I know it's not transformable, but it would still be nice to have...
  17. I was a HUGE Robotech fan when the show aired in 1985... I was 15. I was such a geek, I used to run home after school so I wouldn't miss the beginning... picture a 15 year old Sophmore in high school running home to watch a cartoon...hmmmm I LOVED it though... And I wanted all the toys, but there were mostly models, and the toys were really hard to find and expensive. A neighborhood friend had Jetfire, and two of the Gakken Alphas. (Green and Blue) He would let me "borrow" them for a couple months at a time to display in my room and of course play with... he he. So as the Robotech craze lost steam, the toys and models all but disappeared... So I waited...... and waited..... and forgot about it.... then remembered..... and waited........ and THEN! Robotech.com was live! And they had a store! And they were going to sell the toys! 15 years later I will have them all!! So my very first of the reissues was a Toynami Rick Hunter VF-1J MPC... I was thrilled! Up to this point I had only seen Robotech... Macross was just part of it.... Then someone at RT.com broke the TOU and mentioned Macross World... So I ventured over, and I haven't left... I don't post as often as some, but I feel like a member of the community here. You guys are going to hate me, but I still haven't seen Macross, DYRL?, M+, M7, M2, MZero.... But I really want too! Just can't afford the toys AND the DVDs right now... So I have to go with the toys... So my first Yamato was the VF-19A. Saw it on ebay... Didn't look like the "Veritechs" I was used to, and it was called a "Valkyrie?" hmmmm.... ok.... I LOVE the color, and the design.... got it for $60. Then the other reissues began to flood the market. What to get? Bandai or Yamato? After seeing the two side by side, the choice was obvious... Yamato could make a toy look that good AND TRANSFORM! That was it for me, and Yamato is where it's at.... Now some 25 or so Valks later, I'm still addicted, still broke, and can't wait for the new ones to keep popping out of the factory... WOO HOOOO!! I have one of each release thus far besides the Low Vis which I plan to purchase... HELL maybe TODAY! So that's my story.... Long live Yamato!
  18. That is pretty cool, but I do agree that the "muscle fiber" research going on would really be a better way to enhance human performance without the "klunkiness" of motors and such. Plus, how tight around your legs would you have to attach that stuff in order for it not to slide around on you?
  19. I think Drif is a little more sensitive to what he gets for his money than some of us here. I can relate to that type of attitude. It's pretty tough to find a company now a days that consistently makes a good product and stands behind it. Customer service seems to get harder and harder to come by, and when someone pays good money for something they expect a good product to grace their shelves... Personally, I'm on the Yamato band wagon... I have a pretty good amount of these things now, and I've only had MINOR issues with the ones I do have. The only thing that does kind of bug me is the shoulders on the 1/60 line. I'm very happy that a company like Yamato has put so much into Macross and given us the chance to have these things in our posession for a relatively fair price. I'm not neggating the issues, but just stating that I would rather have these things with minor fixable issues than not have them at all... Just for the record: ALL of the Yammies except one of my 11Bs are in the best condition they can be in. The issues are so minor that I have no need to try and fix them... they don't bother me enough... Example: The canopy doesn't stay up on one of my 1/48s.... not a big deal to me, and very fixable. Drif: you are a bit extreme, but you explained yourself well... So how about you and everyone else call a truce on this debate.... I don't think that is too much to ask... B)
  20. The price is a little steep... but if you consider the cost of a good motorcycle helmet, then is almost seems right for such a custom piece.... I agree the shoulder pads being included would pretty much make it worth the money. They should light up or something though... A good motorcycle helmet can cost you upwards from $350 USD. I wonder what the inside of the helment looks like, and how heavy it is? I would get it and the shoulder pads if I was a wealth man.... but alas.... I AIN'T!
  21. I believe they used the Imai kit as a starting point for the design... When I saw the first prototype they showed to the public it looked almost the same as the Imai kit.... Now the pre-production sample that was at the SDCC this year was a vast improvement over the first prototype... I think it has really "evolved" into an orginal sculpt, but I don't think it started out that way... As far as waiting for the price to drop... I will have to agree with who ever made the statement about the lack of competition... Toynami is the only company licensed to realease Mospeada toys, so if you wait too long you may be out of luck on getting one... I'm sure if you are patient enough, they will pop up eventually, but no guarantee at that point that you will pay a lower price. I think I'll be preordering mine...
  22. Glad you revived this thread here. I hope you guys are still considering me doing the composite in Photoshop. It will be really fun to get to work with all these great models. That is the first time I've seen the Macross! WOW! It looks amazing.
  23. Yes. Nope.... I like it too. Yeah, well that's because you guys are weird.... J/k
  24. From memory since most are in boxes until my display case is ready... 1/48 - 3 1/60 - 10 1/72 - 5
  25. Good to see this thread is back. Price fixing seems to have become the American way... Many of us will end up paying full price for the Alphas.... I'm probably one of them. How do companies not get regulated on the price fixing stuff anyway? I also thought this was illegal practice.
