    vf-1S heat shield

Welcome to "World O' Macross" ! Personally I passed up this release mainly because I thought the heat shield should be black as well, and I didn't feel like trying to customize the heatshield.
  2. Yeah, I think that is a bunch of crap too... I don't think I believe what Tommy had to say there. The magical appearance of "other" masters and such just sounds like a well written excuse to get around what they said before, that Robotech "counldn't" and "wouldn't" be remastered because of the investment required to make the project possible... now suddenly, they find "new masters" and release this as the truth to cover their a$$es... I said this on another forum, and I'll go ahead and say it here.... I bought the original box sets released, and I'm perfectly happy with them... I'm glad to have that piece of my childhood to enjoy at my will... Would I have liked it to be remastered and then released? OF COURSE... Am I P.Oed. about this "new development?".... hell yes.... Am I gonna lose sleep over it? no... I am really disappointed though that after waiting 15 years for Macross and Robotech alike to get back into circulation, that the main corporation that owns the rights to the show are screwing the fans that made them rich.
  3. OOH YEAH! 1/48 M+ Valks would be really sweet I think... bring it on! Graham.... what do you mean when you say "watch this space for updates" ?? hmmm? Did anyone else catch that?
  4. That looks really cool! I would definitely consider painting the head though... It looks a bit stark in white.... Maybe paint it black with some dark gray accents??

    VF-0 toys?

the VF-0 was made before the VF-1 in the Macross timeline right? My question then is why does the fuselage look more modern on the VF-0 than on the VF-1? It appears more like a M+ nose cone... I do hope the toys get made though..
  6. The VF-4 design is probably my favorite with the YF-19 running a VERY close second... A 1/48 VF-4 would make my millenia!
  7. If anyone has any more help for me it would be greatly appreciated. 1. I wanted to know if the slider bar is supposed to be perfectly straight or have a slight curve? 2. If anyone has figured out how to deal with the gap between the chest plate and back plate in fighter mode... Please Help. Thanks, rocco_77
  8. That's ok, but it's still pretty vague.... Is the guide bar supposed to be totally straight? And what about the gap I mentioned between the chest plate and back plate in fighter mode? Thanks for the reply Tom.
  9. Sorry if this has been discussed, but I DID DO a search for this and I couldn't find anything specific. Could someone help me out here? I just got the VT-1 & VE-1 1/60s. I haven't opened the VE-1 yet. When trying to transform the VT-1 though, I can't get the chestplate to slide down for battriod... I noticed when looking inside the front landing gear compartment that there is a metal bar with a slot in it that seems to be getting stuck on the bottom of the cockpit. It looks like all I have to do is bend this bar out a bit and that would solve the issue, but I don't want to screw it up... So what I'm asking is... Is bending this bar the right thing to do? And is the bar supposed to be straight, or is it supposed to have a slight curve to it? And on another note... In fighter mode.... does anyone else have a nice big gap where the chest plate and back plate meet? I can't seem to get that gap to close up... Has anyone figured out what causes this? Thanks a lot guys, rocco_77
  10. I have one of those models.... It's pretty small though... What scale was that? The one I have is too small to be 1/72. I'm pretty sure I have all the pieces, and I would sell it if someone wanted it. If anyone is interested, PM me. I don't have the box, the instructions, or the stickers... I just have the valk and it's parts... The kit was put together, but NOT painted.
  11. I'm going to have to be in the refund group too... I just want to say this though... I think that we have been more than courteous and respectful to Tanmen. I think that we have walked on egg shells around him. I am all about showing someone respect, but I am not about holding on to that respect when treated this way... I don't care about cultural differences and all that... My opinion is that business is business, and if you don't have good business practice then you loose my respect and my patronage... I know that he is a superb caster, so MAYBE someday I will order an in-stock item from him, but I will definitely not be giving him any business for some time if ever again. As far as recasting is concerned: (and I think it is in good taste to talk about recasting now) I say if anyone of our fellow recasters here has the gumption to attempt the Cats Eye, I'm sure they would be able to make some money on it.... I for one would be a buyer, and I think there are plenty of members that missed out on the first order that would really like one. Well that's my 2 cents for what it's worth.... I want to give a HUGE THANKS to Jesse, Monkey Nugget, and anyone else involved in this order that did their best to help see this thing through to the end... It was a large responsibility, and I really want you guys to know how much your efforts are appreciated... THANK YOU SO MUCH! rocco_77
  12. WOO HOOO! Sweet Tom, thanks for the most excellent update.
  13. good find on the -11B FP and the -21 FP! $100 for both is a pretty sweet deal... I have two -11Bs (no FPs yet), two -19As, and one -21 FP, and I love them all... (even though one of my -11Bs is broke and the other is on its way) As for the YF-19?... I'm also going to wait for the resculpt FP version....

    1:48 VF-1J

With fast pack all the way... It may be the only way to get your hands on the TV style fast packs... Plus there is still a beautiful 1/48 Hikaru 1J underneath.
  15. that was strange to say the least.... Why did you pollute us with that?

    1/48 customs

I would like to see a little more of that CF there... The color looks really good on the 1/48. Not a fan of the metallic colors, but the repaints look like some really nice work.
  17. March 2004? Wow, that's a pretty long delay... Considering the pre-production sample at ComicCon looked pretty well finished, I wonder what they are doing to the thing to have to delay it for so much longer?

  19. 33 years young here. 34 in July.
  20. Hey those look great.... So how do I go about getting two of the figures? I have to leave work now because of the smoke, but I'll be back tomorrow. Thanks Exo, rocco_77
  21. Thanks Tom, Actually it was a friend of mines Dad.... Thanks for the link to the thread, I didn't see one when I looked.
  22. I would love to get a couple recasts of the figure... I have one figure if anyone needs one for recast, but my other two Alphas need figures... I also have 3 gun pods that I can offer up for recast as long as they can be returned in the condition they are given... Thanks Exo, rocco_77
  23. I know this isn't the correct forum for this, but I couldn't post in the news section.... I just wanted to start this topic to say to people living in San Diego, that my thoughts and best wishes go out to all of you... I live in North Escondido which the Valley Center fire approached us pretty close.... We had to pack up and just wait to be evacuated... Also, I know that our own Admin here Shawn lives in a city called Santee that got burned quite good... I don't think any homes were lost there, but I'm not sure... I just wanted to let everyone know that it has really been a scary situation the entire weekend, and it won't be over until later this week. So Shawn, if you see this post... best wishes to you and your family, I hope you are safe and well. They don't expect containment until sometime Thursday for all the fires burning throughout the county. My friend's Dad lost his house in Crestline, which is in the San Bernadino mountains near Lake Arrowhead.... unbelievable trajedy this has been for a great many people....
  24. No problem Tom... thanks for the new update.... I agree with Exo and Jawjaw.... it's worth the wait.
  25. Here is me with my band SixthDay.... I'm the shortest one with the biggest attitude.
