Bandai's QC is a league above the rest, but not exactly perfect. their efforts also swing back & forth from mediocre to fantastic. they do a couple of stupid things on occasion too. take their new 00 kits, compared to the SEED ones, they seem kinda lacking with the engineering. they seem like they were made just for the sake of having toys months after the start of the show. they could be doing the same thing with F. i hope not. then there's their 'premiere' SOC line. ie: the Voltes V. for some reason, they decided to use red plastic on parts that should be gray/silver & just painted them the correct color. wouldn't it have been better if they used the correct color for the plastic? i know, 'cuz i had to take mine apart due to a jammed spring-loaded tower on the thighs. that said, i hope Bandai's F toys rock. and rock hard, with a reasonable price tag who knows, this could be the push we've all been waiting for.

so they're doing Aliens. does that mean we'll see Colonial Marine revys ? since they're doing western franchises now, i wonder if they'll do Terminator.
-
yeah, mind-boggling ain't it

Hobby Search has them in stock, they even have the Idolmaster Haruka on pre-order already http://www.1999.co.jp/search_e.asp?Typ1_c=...h&urikire=1 apparently, shop where i usually buy stuff can get them at the same time as Hobby Search. ...not in USA

woohoo! i just got the Asuka the sculpt of the face is excellent, it's my favorite so far construction wise, it's pretty much like the Rei. the accessories are super cool, starting with the ACR/pallete rifle. it's funny how it seems kinda scrawny compared to the pics, but the proportion's actually good. then there's the voodoo doll it's actually got its own revy joint! awesome! one minor problem is the color of the revy joints. they're a darker tone of red than the paint they used on the figure, and they're the matte kind.

thread resurrection. wooo... it's... er... well, you decide. i can't say 'cuz i might get a "cease & etc." from (insert US-based company name) right now, it's codename is "Aerospace Fighter Machine"

yup, the short pegs are to blame. but with the Rin's case, it's the short pegs, plus the unpainted plastic, plus the loose holes for the pegs. i fixed it by building up a nub with some CA glue. they only needed a little ridge to jeep the joint from coming apart. too much glue, & the pegs won't fit the fix has held up pretty well the hot knife method might be easier to do too

they did something like that in another show, it went like: "gah! my biceps! ...too big! can't... reach... my face!!!" he says it while trying to get an angry cat off his face i thought the figure was interesting. but like everybody, the blender hands don't look right plus the tone & shade of the blues look weird to me.

this just hit me... what about putting a saber head on a rei or rin ? i'm not sure, but isn't the saber head close to the size of the fraulein heads?

wow... that's really something if i was living anywhere near their shipping range & had the money for it, id probably go for it. there's enough duplicates there to salvage at least 1 to near perfect condition. a lot of those are "nitpick returns". those are probably in near perfect condition apart from scratched boxes & whatnot. and think of the possibilities... that's 15 MP Megatrons! 1 for each room in your office and/or house! plus all the other stuff you don't want can go to your X-mas presents category: "hmm.. i don't like that guy, i'll give him the defective mospeada for X-mas this year!"

i'd like to see one tha plays like ZOE+AC and none of that limiter crap. ZOE had a nice, intuitive control. it's a mystery why other games haven't copied it. weapon switching is fine, as long as i want or need to, but imposing it on the player just sucks. add to that some "automatic" stuff like the head lasers doing their anti-missile zapping independently (as long as you're facing the incoming missiles) it's something i think shouldn't interfere with the weapon selection unless you really really want to use it. they already did something like it in ACE3 with the YF19 & YF21 where the grappling punch automatically activates (though if it really adds damage is a mystery) and of course customizing the weapon loadouts & paint! imagine flying your own custom VF! of course, we'll want to have real flyable maps. no boundaries other than atmospheric & space flight. except maybe 1 or 2 where you need to enter or exit orbit and do some fighting. VF-X2 was ok, but that "plane in the middle of a bubble" really sucked. then, the ever important dual language setting!

nope, i never got around to getting a Revy ...who does have a Revy & Rei for comparison? unfortunately, i don't have a camera at hand... boo... correction: the arms are painted afterall
-
i just got the Rin it's a step above the Rei, they used the bendy kind of plastic for the sweater & skirt it gives slightly better articulation at the chest & has softer plastic for the arms & legs. i was a little surprised to see how loose the joints are compared to previous releases, i guess it's the plastic & (lack of) paint in those areas. unlike the Rei, a lot of the parts are molded in the correct color instead of being painted whoopee! same issues with the Rei though, the shoulders tend to pop off. nothing a little CA glue can't fix

yeah, too bad a big chunk of the reviews are negative. i read some of them, the reviews are mostly coming from the kind of people that hold their hands up to their ears & go "la la la la la..." you know, the kind of people that used to say "Rock & Roll's the devil's work" most of them have never even seen the 1st 3 movies! then they go on about how bad or shallow the movie is. well... it is RAMBO, BY CROM!!! what were they expecting? dialog from Macbeth? and what gave them the idea that this movie wouldn't be all "blood & guts" ? it's funny how the level of killingsmanship offends some of them. meh. there you go kids, the last movie of this kind of awesome. enjoy it, own the DVD's, buy all the merchandise & keep it safe for your kids & grandkids. because you know somebody's gonna put a ban on them

i see it! he speaks the truth! that's really something. it almost looks like a pro build. i wonder how heavy his Thunder Armor is? can somebody could track down the rest of the pics? great... now i actually have to build mine... thanks a lot guys...

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
UN_MARINE replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
did they change the release date ? i thought they said "summer" or "summer-ish" the real horror here is, how soon is it scheduled for release after the YF-21 ? do we get a month or so to recover, or will they bury us the week after? -
i'm done with "college", i got a job with lots of tools & free time now, so i think i can pick up the project again plus the year & a half training with the guys at mars should help a lot ...nobody start expecting any real progress so soon or... la chupacabra! maybe bigfoot ?
-
the guy has it in primer already? man... that's some "Awesome Buildy Powers" too bad the pic's gone, i woulda liked to see how he built his & how he solved some technical stuff. i think i can explain my project's lack of progress... "college"
-
well... there's this: though that's about as far as i got. i'd say that's about 3 years old now does that bust the urban myth? maybe i can get back to work on it... maybe
-
maybe they weren't expecting the Rambo factor? seriously, the last few action movies i've seen had super toned-down killingsmanship. this movie just rocked/shocked their world! it'll probably be the last goriest, manliest action flick we'll see in this lifetime those people who brought in kids will probably make sure this kind of action is never seen again ...unless they loved every minute of it

that product pic of sunstreaker is kinda disturbing. makes you wonder if it's mis-transformed, or it's backwards. maybe both? alternator-style transformations are cool, but they bring down the fun factor. sure you get better bot-to-alt proportions & details, but you also need to watch the small parts & so on. compared to the classics-style transformations, you almost don't have to worry about snapping little parts off or breaking something. you could even play around with them without looking at the toy. you can't do that with the alts & masterpieces.
