Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title
UN_MARINE replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
wow... more of the unintelligent "let's put parts that don't make sense there so it looks more interesting" design philosophy. this guy's a hack. hell, the headless giant thing is just a photochop of other designs. note the Robocop2 groin & ED 209 feet. *groan* i hope they're only concept art & never made it to the film. it's really a shame when the franchise started with feasible & well thought-out designs only to degrade into "flavor of the week" designs. oh well. ConnorBale will just really have to be the savior of mankind on this one -
wow... i think we hit a wall work's keeping me from doing anything fun at the moment. that's my lame excuse. boo... i'm trying to figure out how the EX gear integrates with the cockpit. so far, it's the only thing keeping me from drawing up a shot of the interior. does anybody have reference pics?

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
UN_MARINE replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
the shoulders are definitely bigger than they should be. the head laser kinda looks weird, but i always thought the VF-11 always had a really long laser. i'm happy with the fact that this one doesn't have shopping cart landing gear -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

*GASP* my wallet !!! so it comes with the FP's, but no rocket booster ? -
hmm... Grimmy's legs look kinda scrawny. sure, the original had thin thighs too, but it had GIANT boots to make up for it. i like the proportion with the G1 Prime and articulated dino arms! woo!

awww... there's the deal breaker, boys. not PT looks like the Yamato Motoslave is the best we have.

impossible transformation ?!?!??! but... but... *head'splosion* NOTE: due to parental control & unnecessary censorship, we are unable to present an exploding head in explicit graphic detail. instead, we have replaced the imagery with fireworks, confetti, stars & rainbows.

man... i had 4 days without internets. the horror !!! ok, back to our irregularly scheduled program Fatalist, yup. the wings tuck in pretty much the same way as the VF-0 Darrtallion, i see... excellent the design feels like it's pretty much final, so no worries i just have to put some parts under a microscope so they don't "magically" do things
-
i see... cool. i suppose i'm just concerned about how you guys are working hard on the thing while the design is still in the works. the armor parts on the other hand, are pretty much final. aside from the little details inside. anyway, good luck to everybody on the build/modeling!

those... bastards!!! spring-loaded Voltes bazooka! must... resist !!! i'm guessing the old built-in hands are gone, as a trade-off for the new gimmicky forearms. this new version surely is classic-y! detaching fists & spring-loaded goodness kinda makes me wish they'd include the spinning top accessory, the tiny monster "targets" & the fake tailfin for the Bomber machine.

awesome! it's looking good i'll see what i can do about the cockpit details. hopefully i can free up some time to doodle it all down. you guys might run into some problems with the geometry around the head in F mode. so far, i've only been drawing it to show where it should be, but not how it actually fits. it has something to do with the whole thing being tucked in higher. which means the front view drawing is maybe sorta possibly wrong i still have to draw how it actually sits there
-
yes indeed. i can only go so far when it comes to expressing the design in 2d. plus i wanna see if all those fancy new shapes & parts will actually work on a model. we gotta see it in 3D! digital or otherwise
-
well... i don't know if it's the bestest thing ever. thanks again for all the encouragement i do what i can for the benefit of macrosskind and yes. i will keep this thread going for as long as i can. hopefully, it'll move up to some kind of model

thanks sorry about the newer drawings not being colored, my work's getting in the way

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
UN_MARINE replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
sure thing, but we're gonna have to see if the conversion will prove successful i'm already planning on how to make it work. so far, it looks like the tailfins & the head will need most of the work. and the bottom of the thing is still a mystery. i hope they come up with more detailed pics soon. and that better not be the bendy kind of plastic they use on all their HCM's. that would totally screw with my evil scheme. well, not by much, but it would be a PITA. -
The Macross Quarter. DX Chogokin
UN_MARINE replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
i'd like to see them start with a 2-foot tall Frontier & Galaxy, then scale the Quarter accordingly. and have a separate or non-scale 2-foot tall Quarter. and if they're really going in that direction, then... i demand they make a MACROSS !!! DYRL/TV version. if they want our money, that's a sure-fire way to get it all. come to think of it... they could actually make a Global too. or start with a Global, then swindle us with "Macross re-color" ...as long as it's not chunky, has small hands, self-destructing shoulders, 2 left or right cannon hinges, very dark visors, caster landing gears, & low-hanging crotch section -
Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
UN_MARINE replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
if these have the proper price tag & FP's, i will get at least 1. and i will make it PT !!! that goes especially for the VF-1. parts former? never heard of the term -
Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
UN_MARINE replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
to clear things up, nobody really said Bandai was making a Quarter. pure speculation, but we can see where it started. i doth quoth myself-eth uh... it's not my fault ? blame >EXO<? blame the Omega Pants? blame the picture? blame Bandai's random background guy? damn you, random guy!!! back to topic. do the other DX toys come with display stands as standard? that would justify the price tag a bit, not by much. but i'd be happy about it. EDIT: 1% more comedy -
Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
UN_MARINE replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
sweet jesus! it's Quarter! it's a pic of the command tower/antenna array! are they really gonna make a DX quarter?!?! -
yup, OD is Olive Drab. i like it. i just hope it doesn't cost more or even a limited edition. does that mean they're gonna do an urban camo version too?

Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
UN_MARINE replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
i contest the Voltes 5 being part of their A-game. 2 words: elbow joint. but seriously, their SOC line pretty much showcases their A-game material aside from Gundam. so where do we go from here? we've already been Yamatoed, now we're getting BanDaied ? -
"King of the sky" good idea, but i'm not sure if it suits a regular Valkyrie squadron. i think it works better for a VB-6 squadron or a Macross. but "King of fire" might just suit the Armored VF perfectly. Darrtallion, great site. too bad some of the really interesting ones are just in grayscale.

yes. what he said and now a little something that goes with the plane! Nievelheim Squadron (Superdimensional) Cinderella's Star i figured it needed a unit/squadron emblem, & that's what popped into my head

Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
UN_MARINE replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
that's kind of a double-edged sword. on one hand, yes, we can ignore the product & hopefully they get their act together & make us a better one. but that can also bite us back in the ass. since they're bigger & have been around longer, they could just as well say "see? we knew this wouldn't sell. cancel all the other projects related to this & go back to the product that does sell." that's something the big company has over us. ego. they could drop this market like it was another day in the park. 'cuz they can! sure, i'm not too happy about how this turned out, but i also want them to keep paying attention to this market. so we can finally have our friggin' re-issue Strikes, Elints & Super-O's !!!
