  1. The 2nd radome fin doesn't exist - 3A forgot about it, along with the camera assembly(?) in the middle of the torso. I'm pretty sure it was a mix-up with the "battle damaged" line art from MGS4 & the "pre-battle" line art.
  2. I'm at my 2nd playthrough, I just had a satellite shot down! The stealth research isn't a guarantee they won't get blown up. Maybe the type of UFO is a factor? I remember it was one of those large abductor ships that got away twice that got my satellite. Oh, and capturing a 2nd Outsider seems like a waste of time, the item related to it will just sit in the inventory - I was hoping you'd get to do more missions like that, but it seems to be the only one. ...I lost Nigeria on this playthrough. The last time, it was the entire African continent + Germany.
  3. I have the PS3 version. The PC version has maybe a couple of options that aren't available on console, like "end turn for the entire squad" , the visible terrain grid, and "click to center on target". There's also a slight difference in processing time during the alien activity phase - the console version seems to process alien activity faster. Other than that, pretty it's solid on any platform. I just got back from the last mission and... Also:
  4. I got X Com a week ago & it's a very good, I've lost sleep for about as long as I first got it. It streamlines a lot of the gameplay for practical reasons. Sure, I miss a couple of mechanics from the original game, but who really needs to spend time packing a dead alien & all their sweet alien gear into a character's backpack? The "story" progression moves pretty fast, at about 1/4 to 1/8 the time it took in the original. It removes the incredibly slow pace the original had and you still get to take down a lot of aliens in the process. The single base & Skyranger doesn't seem to be a problem IMO. In the original, even if you had a bunch of bases & Skyrangers, you could still only respond to 1 event at a time. It's a slimmer, faster version of the original and it's awesome, think Solid Snake compared to Big Boss.
  5. They're not so bad, you only start worrying about them when they grow huge! Yup! Figured I should beat them to the punch before I start giving them a ton of money.
  6. Slow day at work, then this happened.
  7. Thanks guys! Sorry for the lack of updates. Had some time for the chest's transformation framework & wings. Lots of trial & error involved, plus a bunch of drawings of how things should look & fit together, yeah... that took a week. Just these pics for now, If I look at it funny, it self-destructs.Not really a feature I want for the end product. No Easter eggs were harmed during the fabrication process. -UN_M
  8. Hi guys, I wanna share a little project I just started. The target is a near-perfect transformable kit with FAST packs. It's still just 24 hours into the build, so it's not much. It's about 4 inches tall in Battroid mode. Pretty much blocking out the basic shapes & proportions, the transformable parts will come in later. I'll update pics as I go along. Thanks, -UN_M
  9. The scale seems fairly accurate if it's based on the deck crew figures. But nobody's actually sure about how tall Rex is. Thanks! I built the carrier deck from scratch.
  10. Here's something I finished recently. They're 1/100 scale.
  11. Would you guys believe... The Dropship? (+ APC). A really tiny one. Here it is next to an old Galoob MicroMachines Dropship.
  12. Awesome! which blasters & parts did you use for the bullpup mod? I saw a few at the local store. On closer inspection, they don't have any triggers- they're over-engineered slingshots. The spitball ammo seems like they won't work or at least exit the blaster properly if you try to use them dry.
  13. I call it the Force Recon. The bullpup conversion was done with a pair of transfer bars for the slide & trigger. Then I gave it a forward carry handle to lock it all into place. All it needs is some fine-tuning, body work & paint. But I can't put it down long enough to continue working on it.
  14. I picked up a Recon a few weeks ago, out of curiosity. There is something awesome about this Nerf stuff. I found it pretty cumbersome to operate & the grip felt awkward to me. Then this happened. I want to get the Raider next, but the local retailers are making it difficult. They cost twice as much as they should & there aren't any extra clips available.
  15. I'm pretty sure putting all those gimmicks inside the leg is possible. There may be some small compromise to the proportion of the legs or gunpod, but I think there's enough room for all the necessary parts. For example, the knee ratchet joint doesn't necessarily have to be inside the lower leg assembly.
  16. Apparently, they're 2 different toys released around 2005. Yamato Zeorymer Gigabrain Zeorymer
  17. These labels can be hazardous to the pilot. At this rate, we can forget the 20-round discrepancy with the gunpod. edit: typos
  18. I was just going through my copy & I noticed something interesting on page 43, not sure if anybody else managed to catch it. It's on the top left corner of the side instrument panel diagram, above item # 15. It's also at the top & to the left of item # 7. It reads: I don't think that's supposed to be there.
  19. I saw it twice, and here's my take on how the movie makes sense.
  20. The ARMD's will install easier if you connect the elbow part through the middle of the ARMD's railing thingy, but it's still a bit of a fight. You'll want to hold on tight to both halves of the elbow joint as well. And you might need to glue-in parts #5, they're super tiny & can pop off easily. EDIT: ok, so connecting the ARMD's seems to go either way. I guess it's down to finesse & technique.
  21. I finally gave in & got one. Now I want something in-scale to put beside this hunk of plastic. Maybe another pair of ARMD's alongside the Daedalus & Prometheus?
  22. ^ Yeah, i need the new "muscular" tires. too bad nobody makes them at this scale. It's done!
  23. Thanks The Bronco kit was part of my reference, especially the inside of the doors. Up until I found the Bronco kit, the project was on hiatus because I couldn't find any images of what the doors looked like on the inside. I just wish I could do something about the tires on mine, wrong size & tread .
  24. This thing took a while, but it's almost done.
  25. That looks a lot like one of the machines from Lost Planet 2. Coincidentally, this unit is 3-way transformable. Submarine/Spaceship - "Gerwalk" - Robot. Strange... I can't seem to find any pics of the other 2 modes.
