  1. I wasn't gonna leak it out yet, but this is part of some upcoming 1/350th stuff... I hated how my 1/100th Monster bowed, so this one will be an improvement over the other. I hope this helps! - MT
  2. Derex, the color looks good. Hopefully it will stay down this time! Jefuemon, I didn't recognize it in gray (mine was green) and the fact I built it like 30 years ago! I forgot it had movable surfaces on it. Those hinged parts were thin and even broke on the sprue before building. The weapons load was cool too! The other biggie I got was the 1/32nd Monogram Tomcat - with REAL rubber wheels! - MT
  3. I'll have to get you photos later, but how about a ratchet design? I'll post photos when I can. - MT
  4. That's too bad Wasabi-san! Oh well. That Phantom kit was cool (good times). I got the 1/32nd scale kit too one year for Christmas - that thing was HUGE! - MT
  5. Thanks for the heads up! - MT
  6. Wasabi-san, if the decals are still in good shape physically, you can bleach them in a window with sunlight if yellowed. A coat of microsol clear will fix any brittleness. I've brought decals back from the dead with that stuff. The Oberth does look good Derex. That sucks about the paint! - MT
  7. Nice (or shouldI say bad) work on the blown up composite structure! Looks like someone took composite parts and blew them up! That would be more fun than the screen, but the screen looks realistic. And for only three days too! This is another cool thing I missed not being able to go to the 'con. Congratulations! - MT
  8. This is looking really cool! I think you'll have a winner! Nice attention to details with the engine compartment. I think models always look better with some "guts" in them! - MT
  9. Being offline for a week I missed a lot! This is looking great! A word to the wise, I scratchbuilt one in 1/100 and it had joint problems due to the weight. I reccomend building as heavy duty joints as you can and using screws to keep the tension on them. Your model will want to "bow" when it's done due to cannon weight and the arms. I had to reinforce my joints with brass. I used thick styrene tubes, but they couldn't hang. The bowing is a big problem. Lighter tubes like styrene or thin aluminum will help and they won't warp downward with age. Awesome idea and I'm glad to see someone doing some SERIOUS 3D modeling! Looking great so far! - MT
  10. There are some cool papercraft models on that page - even MinMay!? - MT
  11. That's too bad it's too big! Another idea would be to have the vectored version cut out of styrene sheets; hmmmm... -MT
  12. 1/350th would be cool, but what would the actual size be for this? The lengths mentioned in Macross publications are often wrong. - MT
  13. What, you're not done yet!? That's a great find! - MT
  14. Awesome job MJ! Looks great! - MT
  15. Speaking of Monogram, I wonder if those are the BSG re-released molds? The awkward scale looks like it. Oh, and Toynami's making plush Valkyries. At least it won't have ABS parts to crack! - MT
  16. Awesome job and composite work! I should make it my wallpaper at work and see how many people ask "which plane is that!?" I think the boom operator would be like, "Uh, where's the receptacle?" - MT
  17. Nice scheme 505th! I do like the tribute and the airframe. Too bad they never had a real scheme like that. Even 25 years ago I wasn't happy with Monogram's molding quality. I was bummed when they were the only game in town for some airframes like the B-52 in 1/72nd. Still, they had some cool models with opening doors and full weapons loads like the 1/24th Huey. - MT
  18. This is a MUST for my family. Both my son and Daughter are into the Ninjago, Chima, and Galaxy Squad sets. A set of plans would even be great for those parts not propriatary. Thanks for sharing! - MT
  19. Nice finish and use of the decals! - MT
  20. I don't like the "retrofit" either, but you made it look great!!! Crazy props for all that skillful "drawing." Most people use paper - MT
  21. Congrats on the compressor ce25254, nice classic! By the way, I've had Tamiya on for months at a time too (the Daedalus Ramp) and Scotch/3M on for over a year (also Daedlaus) with no residue left behind at all. SHhhh! Don't give me secrets away Big F! Thanks guys! I've lost three gears on the floor forever and had to remake them. I've made several gears just practicing with several failures! If I was a watchmaker, I'd go broke! One set I accidently left too much travel in the shaft and the gears don't engage right. The other is smooth as silk, for three rotations or so until it sticks! And I can't see why because I need more magnification! I'm messing with doing some more cutting tonight. - MT
  22. "...Gotta go back in time-ime..." Nice looking Delorean Ron. A "newer" version with the hoverboards would be cool too! Enterprising works guys! Nice decal work Derex! That looks like it's painted on; smooth move! The finish looks great Dobber! It will be great to see some HD photos when you get them. While waiting on the weather to cool down and humidity to clear up, I've been doing some machining. The Bronco 1/350th models have the best detail of any 1/350th styrene kit I've seen yet! The Osprey looked so cool and had hollow parts, I couldn't resist gearing the pods from a central 4mm motor (the nacells only have 3mm internal clearance at the widest point). It's assembled now and the nacells still spin the prop shaft while transitioning between vertical and horizontal positions, but the gears are running rough every now and then, so I'm re-cutting them. At only 2mm in diameter, my problem is tolerances and strong enough magnification. - MT
  23. I'm glad to see the VF-1 FINALLY get some serious BIG SIZED mass produced love! - MT
  24. Heh heh, that's thinking outside the box! Nicely done and I love the base idea too. We complain about one kit, they did three! - MT
  25. The paint on that is top notch! The weathering and rust look realistic, not to mention the "flat paint" fade effects. Just awesome painting! - MT
