That's beautiful! I love to see "show off" models with open panels and access points - being on a valk makes makes it all that better! Thanks for sharing!-MT

Has anyone heard of this material... Plastimake?

Thanks for sharing! I can hardly wait to make prank doggy poo! I would have used a better example... :-) - MT -
If any of you guys are having issues with your decals after printing, the Solvset guys make microfilm coating to fix brittle decals and fix old ones. I had that problem with photocopied ones (I think it's the heat).-MT

Thanks guys! Testors I can get easily and other paints you can still get through mail (even Mr Hobby). Scalehobbyist.com carries their primers. It just has to be shipped via surface. Thanks again guys!-MT

Thanks Chyll, maybe I'll give Future a shot. There's fixatives that work great with papers, but I've found they are different with plastics and non-porous surfaces. Maybe I'll try some with added flatcoat.- MT

Has anyone here used a clear coating that won't make Sharpie perm ink pens run? - MT

That looks great! Nice creative touch! - MT -
Not that I'm biased or anything, but that Daedalus looks great! And to agree with everyone else, the TV version looks FAR better and gets no love compared to the movie version. - MT

That's too bad, we were just watching him on season 8 of MASH - "Heal Thyself" as the doctor with PTSD. RIP! - MT

After some major surgery I could not lift anything for a month (which meant waiting to lift and fix the Daedalus gearbox). So I worked on the Bugeye Recon kit. More in another thread when complete.

Looks great! The LEDs are a great touch along with the hoses and thumbs up pilot! - MT

The destroyer looks good! I have those four kits too and love them. I'm just too attached to build them:-) - MT

2014 was a great year for me. FINALLY finished the Daedalus (only to have the main hatch gearcase blow), completed kit masters to the 1/350th Spartan, Monster and Regult, then almost finished the 1/350th Bugeye Recon kit - will remedy that today. I think Jefuemon wins the most kits made award and Mommar most bodacious for eating a cheesecake! Some great releases coming up this year...- MT

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year MWers!
MechTech replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm not online much, so slow to this thread, but Happy New Year! Hopefully it brings us some great Macross Kits! (That seems to be more realistic than world peace ;-) - MT -
Boss, the Glaug came out good, especially for a first big build. Derex, I like that primer and finished the Daedalus with it. When it comes to weather, humidity is hard to get around. But with the cold, I find rattle cans are alright to spray even near freezing outside. Then I just bring them inside to dry in a closet or the laundry room. Chyll, the dying came out better than what I've seen elsewhere. Just tell everyone you meant to make it look camo'ed ;-) - MT

The X-47 Looks great! Looks just like the real thing I got to see. The Yamato looks great too. I'm hoping to get going on mine SOON!- MT

Oh the boxers are TOOOOooo funny. Yeah, the sparkly effect is what I'm goin for and fixing the amber color cabin lights. Maybe I could make another set to go with the boxers...;-) -MT

Moo-Suu-Pii-Dah In-Bii-Toh: the final
MechTech replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Awesome! I believe you've captured the lineart perfectly! If only my current budget allowed for it...-MT -
Thanks for posting those photos! Godzilla and the Yamato together- that about summarizes two of the cooler shows my family likes (next to Macross of course)! So the windows are backlit green! I've got the Bandai 1/350th model I'm hoping to hit over Christmas break. Of course the amber LEDs will be wrong. I'm also trying to take some fiber optics and a light board from an ornament to try and produce the tachyon effect when the gun charges. I tried putting the fibers up to the clear part, but it's hard to mount them. Drilling little holes will make "shadows" when the exhsiting LEDs are "fired" off from the ship. If you guys got any ideas or suggestions let me know! - MT

I LOVED the Orguss kits that Revell distributed. I loved the Orgroid most because it was the only transformable kit that didn't need parts swap. Just keep searching Ebay for now regarding models: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=orgus+models&_from=R40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xorguss+models&_nkw=orguss+models&_sacat=0 At least there's one up there for only $40 - that's great. - MT

Thanks for the update. Too bad it's not 1/350th (no we're never happy with whatever scales others are working on around here) - MT
