You gotta print them yourself, it's too easy not to! Just draw them up (I use Corel Draw or even PowerPoint) and then print them. White lettering is the only limitation. Micro Mark sells superior quality papers (white and clear) and even has a set. After printing (inkjet or toner-specify on your order) you just spray a fixative on them-BAM, it's that easy. I've bought from several other distributors with varied results and quality, that's why I say Micro Mark. I even used their papers straight on the Bug Eye and Daedalus. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss more, seriously, its easy to do!-MT

VF-1J “S-FAST PACK” Config. Ver. 1.1 W-St. – 1/72 HASEGAWA MODEL KIT

Moto bene! I love the rare subject and have never seen it before.-MT -
I was thinking the same thing. Ebay has a 4 valk set, VF-1A/J/S right now for $45 plus shipping. I had the set and liked it. They're anime style versus line art accurate (big hands and feet), but cool all the same.-MT

The Durandal looks great! It's cool to see some pickles underway. The squareness of the capital ship makes me want to modify the one I have-if I ever get around to it!-MT

Looks cool. Thanks for sharing about inventor fusion, I'm contemplating doing some CAD/CAM parts myself.-MT

So like when the pilots quickly run to their planes do they still yell out "scramble, scramble!"? Seriously, it looks great!-MT

Love the helmet 505th! Vibrant colors.-MT

Thank you very much guys! By the grace of God this one went together easier than the Daealus. It won't walk the dog, but it scares the turtle!!!-MT

Actually there's a lady in Venice Beach, CA who writes peoples names on rice with a pen, she prefers Uncle Bens:-) Looking at thicknesses, maybe .005 thick brass if you layer it, base w/ wings, back/breastplate area, then fast packs. Just an idea...-MT

Thanks guys, I am REALLY humbled and at the same time laughing at some of those funny comments! This kit was fun to build and just begging to be animated. I'm glad you all enjoyed it and I appreciate the feedback!-MT

Moo-Suu-Pii-Dah In-Bii-Toh: the final

Never has anything so deadly looked so good! Another awesome project with happy recipients!-MT -
Hey everyone, last year between Daedalus completion and recovering from surgery (no lifting big 6 foot long ships), I managed to complete Neptunesurvey's and Tundrayeti's 1/350th Bug Eye kit. My kit is the newer version that was roto casted. It still weighs a ton though because of it's size. The kit is great and well engineered with brass inserts in the "legs". All the parts fit together great and required minimum cleanup. The kit is great as is, but it had too much potential to have fun with. So the big modifications were to hollow out the bay area more for the mechanics and modify the turrets. The stock turrets were great, but barrels are always a pain to clean up and the ball joints will eventually come loose. So they got upgraded. The obvious changes were to animate the eye and radars. Minor changes included adding small details and a little etching with machined leg ends. Painting was done similar to wargaming figures to give it depth of size and to appear large and dirty -Zentraedi like, unmaintained. No cover coating was used and the large decals were cut from white sheet. Since we can't post videos, there's one up on Youtube that also shows the build process. The link is below. Thanks for looking in. - MT

Those Vipers do look great! Hats off for a good finish that's so micro too! You can go two ways I can think of. The first is to do one thickness and waste away the wings while the fuselage is untouched thickness wise. The other is to build it in steps. The fastpacks can be built folded over for thickness. If you connect the packs with a tab it would double as the "backpack" on the fuselage back. Also decals would take the pain of painting away-a full body decal. Just some ideas...-MT

That looks great man! I always thought of doing that, but thought of going the photoetch route (my kit is still in storage). You could easily cast that and make a block of the casted ones for mass use.-MT

Welcome Yhezell, those look great!-MT

That's an AWESOME build! The capital ship looks great, but extra kudos for a well done SDF-1! You should put it against a ruler so everyone can see how small it is. Nice photography too!-MT My mistake, I confused the 1/8000 kit with the smaller kits, still looks grest though!

MADOX was an awesome anime and design! What other mecha can you still pilot while eating tempura shrimp to go (if anyone remembers that scene). There were awesome builds in hobby magazines inclusive of misile and ammo loadouts, but you could never find the kit-it drove me nuts (it was also pre-internet too);-) - MT

The finish looks great and thanks for sharing; I was going to ask you about it too.-MT -
The forums aren't allowing me to post video, I'll see what I can do. This is what I spent most of my weekend doing. Everything is restored to working order now!-MT

...and it fires actual 30mm rounds too! That looks awesome and I'm seriously sorry I don't have the budget to buy one now. Those that can get one of these have a great kit!-MT

Adding the Monsters and Valks is a totally cool touch. It's usually one or the other. OK, TV version with opening Daedalus, micro mechs and Valks for the Prometheus! That would be the icing on the cake. - MT

Small update. Spent most of this week fixing the main hatch gearbox. Long story short, the small motor fried (similar model in photo). Then I put a bigger one in which fried when micro debris clogged the gearcase. I also noticed the coarse threaded drive rod was causing excess wear on the gearcase so I fabricated a 4mm drive rod which lightens the load on the motor and gearcase, but also slows the door opening speed. I also modified a larger motor to give more torque and hopefully fix the drive for good! It won't win any beauty contests because I can't remove the whole assembly any more, but it works! So while doing tests what happens, the lights failed! What the heck!!! So now on to troubleshoot the lights... - MT

Awesome Cool8or! Nice finish with just enough wear and tear on it. Congrats on the house as well!-MT
